This season has been a joy to create - one of my favourites yet. I spent hours in the garden, drawing inspiration from organic florals and the insects that call it home for our new Wild Floral collection. Our Watercolour Dragonfly design adds a fresh, uplifting touch to any space, while our Garden Vegetables range celebrates the charm of homegrown goodness. Step behind the scenes with Sophie
As we welcome in the changing season, we caught up with Sophie for a little sneak peek behind the scenes of her latest designs for spring. From the first brushstroke to the final product, we discover where she finds her inspiration.
It always starts with an idea, an initial sketch, and my trusty watercolour paints. Each collection we create reflects a deep-rooted passion for nature and the countryside. There’s something truly magical about stepping outside and observing the small, beautiful details that often go unnoticed. This spring, I’ve drawn inspiration from organic florals, vibrant insects, and the wholesome charm of fresh produce to create designs that celebrate the season of renewal.
One of my favourites for this season is our Wild Floral design. I wanted the artwork to flow naturally and embrace the organic nature of wildflowers whilst highlighting some of our favourite insects. Among the blooms, you’ll find our signature bee, alongside delicate dragonflies, butterflies, and ladybirds. I spent many hours in the garden, studying the patterns
and intricate details of flowers and insects, as I wanted this collection to seamlessly bring the beauty of the outdoors inside.
This spring, we have focused on creating new collections that I know will pair well with our existing designs, allowing a mix and match of various designs that complement each other.
It’s a wonderful feeling when a beloved piece feels brand new when layered with a fresh design. It brings life back into your space and into your existing homewares. Our new Watercolour Dragonfly collection pairs beautifully with our classic Dragonfly range and the timeless charm of our Gingham design.
Creating these collections is truly a team effort. So much thought goes into every aspect from the initial sketches to carefully placing designs on products, styling
aspirational photography, and curating the perfect material, like this brochure! Behind every detail lies a commitment to quality and craftsmanship, ensuring that our designs feel both timeless and unique.
