Welcoming Winter Autumn’s leafy display of gorgeous ambers and golds is making way for the cosiest season of all. It’s time to welcome winter with open arms and dream, plan and get excited for all the magical moments the end of the year will bring at home with friends and family. I love making my home warm and comfortable for the hibernating ahead and surround my home with beautiful pieces to enjoy, welcome guests and enhance the joys of everyday life. I adore going all out and decorating my home to spread joy for the whole season of celebration. After wrapping up for a long walk, I will sit down in front of a roaring fire with my dog Mouse to plan charming themes for different rooms, festive tables, gift wrapping and of course the glorious tree. Heaven. I organise my gifts early, pairing pieces together thoughtfully to bring even bigger smiles and to give myself time to enjoy the ritual of wrapping, using ribbons and decorations to bring them to life. Inspired by perfect Winter moments, we have been busy dreaming up our new winter collection to make this season extra special for you and your loved ones, and in these pages you will find styling ideas and a guide to make it the sparkliest Christmas yet. SIR TERENCE CONRAN To so many, Sir Terence Conran was an icon – a design hero that revolutionised the British design and restaurant scene and was responsible for so many amazing things that changed the way we all live, such as bringing the duvet to the UK. To me, he was my beloved Dad. I have countless fond memories of growing up immersed in his passions – spending long, captivating evenings with his many friends from around the world, watching him work with fascinating and industrious people at our house creating content for the latest Habitat catalogue and his love of food and family that has fed into everything I do. He believed that every home should have an outstanding salad bowl and I think that resonated with me as I embarked on my own design journey with Portmeirion. I’ll never forget showing him my first Portmeirion plate 14 years ago and watching him sit looking at it thoroughly and then turning to me to say “The only thing I don’t like about it, is that I didn’t design it myself”.
His unwavering support and generous advice have been a backbone to the wonderful adventures of my own career and I miss him very, very much. Thank you for everything you did for all of us, Dad.

200g frozen cranberries 200ml Limoncello 4 tablespoons golden caster sugar
RUDOLPH’S NOSE COCKTAIL
100ml strawberry Black Cow vodka
Makes 10 smallish tumblers.
600ml sparkling water Blend the cranberries, Limoncello and sugar together in an electric mixer until you have a fine puree and then sieve into a jug.
Ice 10 frozen blackberries A few sprigs lemon thyme
Use a wooden spoon to press the pulp so you get as much of the juice as possible out of the cranberries. Discard the pulp, chill and keep until ready to serve. Just before serving add the vodka and sparkling water to the jug and serve with ice, a blackberry and a few leaves of lemon thyme.

Decorating

HOW TO CREATE YOUR
Fabulous Festive Garland Our faux garland can be used again and again, changing location and decoration for a new theme, one that you look forward to every year.

To create the floral display use our eucalyptus and blueberry branches and arrange in a vase. We used six branches and put newspaper at the bottom of this vase to lift them up. The branches are malleable so bend into more natural shapes.
Begin by placing your Frosted Pinecone & Fir Garland in situ as you will find it much easier to decorate in position rather than trying to move it later and you can make sure it is secure before you begin to prevent any accidents. The beautiful big bows are a focal point, our Midnight Brocade Ribbon is double-sided and wired so will hold it’s shape fantastically. Practice creating your bow before cutting down to size, then tie your bows into the garland using fine malleable floristry wire. Place one at the centre of the garland and then space them out equally along the length of the foliage. It’s always best to start with large decorations to ensure you have space for them, so next add Midnight Sky Baubles using the floristry wire to attach to the branches. Again symmetry can be really impactful, so space evenly between the bows and slightly lower so they hang underneath. The miniature Lin Bu Ginger Jar Tree Ornaments look so sweet in this arrangement - I have used baby blue grosgrain ribbon to finish them off and wire to tie them on. To set off the gold embellishment of the ribbon add the sparkly sequin baubles and sparkle berry bunches which will twinkle in candlelight. Finally, the gorgeous Moonbeam Tassels have their own curled hanging wire so delicately place them from the lower branches. Now stand back and admire your work.
