Before starting the course, I had next to no experience within the industry or practice, but a real passion for illustration and design, and felt certain that it was something I wanted, and could, effectively, pursue. Throughout my time on the course to date, the amount I have learnt is truly incredible, under the influence of inspiring tutors and fellow designers. I thrive off learning new skills and techniques to apply within my own design practice, and ensure I do so every single day. Design Aspirations
As an independent and highly motivated designer, I have aspirations to work both within a small design studio/co-operative of design professionals, as well as maintaining my own freelance career on a part-time basis through online and retail stockists as well as privatised/ independent commissions. Although I believe I work most effectively in small groups, I feel that I am fortunate enough to work well with others as a whole, my passion for branding, in particular, derrived from my love of working with others. The Future I am currently looking for work placements and studio visits throughout 2013 both nationally and internationally to develop my understanding of the industry, and continue to strengthen my network and connections around the world. In the summer of 2012 I was fortunate enough to have been addressed with a job offer in New York City, USA. Although I resolved to pursue my studies, it has certainly inspired me to travel with my work, and have the confidence to seek employment from further afield than I may have originally intended. In July 2013, I will graduate from my BA (Hons) Graphic Design degree after three years of study, upon which I will be seeking employment within Europe and the United Kingdom.
