PROGRESS TUTORIAL 1 ATTENDANCE – evaluate your attendance and identify any issues that may have affected your ability to be in and on time.
Comments Pleased with my attendance so far this year- making a point to be in at half eight every morning to get prepared for the day, and try to stay an hour after Uni too. Undoubtedly post-winter will be staying for later in the evenings- like to get home before it gets too dark in the evenings for the meanwhile.

ISSUES TO BE DISCUSSED How much time will be designated to industrial experience, will support be offered as well as developing our own network/contacts in free time? Is my level of work sufficient at this current stage? Leeds University International book fair- possibility of having my own stall/running LCA stall?

Comments Quite pleased with my blogging so far this year- perhaps more immediate with my blogging thanks to now having a MacBook. If anything- perhaps a slight concern over PPD blog- looking into work, studio visits, etc, but am I doing enough? Will there be more time specifically designated for this? Lucky to have gained some industry experience/professional development in the past few months- keeping on top of this and blogging progress.

Keeping on top of my work reasonably well, quite organized- though juggling four part time jobs and Uni can be tiring- trying to keep a suitable work/life balance, whilst still prioritizing with Uni work. Want to develop my work a lot more- feel that the summer has helped my software skills- want to have confidence within my abilities and be happy to put together a portfolio in the next few months for potential industry experience. Looking to make connections to Belgium (Antwerp/Ghent) for work experience, also looking into publishing, actively contacting studios and designers at this time.

Continue to contact studios/designers for industry experience to secure studio visits and a work placement in Easter. Pursue more craft fair and independent sales opportunities to develop my networking skills and expand awareness of my design practice. Practice new design techniques more readily- utilizing Graphic tablets, etc- also “re-discover” and practice my hand rendering and drawing skills.
