I took my designs onto photoshop and began experimenting with colour, I don’t think the purple design is as strong as the one without purple, I think it takes away from the actual patterns and the image can breathe more without it. I definitely will be using these colour, as the neon green works really well next to the reds and yellows and it feels very Mexican.
Belize - I went a lot simpler with this one which I feel is a weakness as I can’t fit enough colour in to represent the vibe of a festival. I plan on putting my designs onto the bottle and seeing how they look before adding anymore detail.
As I expressed before I’m worried my Costa Rica design won’t fit in as a set with the rest of my designs as it feels a lot more traditional, however the water colour paint brush I’ve been using on photoshop is giving all of my designs a painterly feel which is what I wanted to achieve while still keeping them looking sophisticated and sticking with the brief. I also began experimenting with adding the names of the places onto the design, I think it’s working really well and it solves my problem of not being able to tell which place is which so I will be doing this onto all of my designs.
With the Dominican Republic design I chose the one that had the most character to represent the atmosphere of their festivals where they have giant dragons etc. I chose colours that would pop to add the to vibe of a festival and to work in a set with my other designs, again I added the name of the place and some more marks to make it clearer which place the design was representing.
