From the Editor-In-Chief
We are so excited to kick off 2021 with a new issue of lifestyle, travel, food, and décor! We cannot say it enough, but 2020 was certainly not the year we all thought it started out as. As homage to some of the philanthropic events we missed, our society section is comprised of a few events that we loved and hope can take place in 2021, and offer a foreshadowing of upcoming events we are looking forward to this year. As you know, one of my biggest passions is for food and wine. COVID has not been helpful for the restaurant industry, so we were so excited to hear that restaurateur Juan Imeroni was opening up Pampas in O’Bryanville with chef Patrick Bowling behind the kitchen. A new local favorite of mine already, chef Bowling does a phenomenal job of crafting delicious dishes with subtle South American influences. Favorites from the menu and discussed further within were the pork with cauliflower au gratin, octopus, pear salad, charcuterie, and wagyu burger, although the whole menu is worth a try. We hope to come out of the pandemic soon to get back to our regular date night dinners out routine at Pampas and all of our local favorites. Since we have been spending more time inside, I thought it was pertinent to highlight some of our really special home features of the past. While the focus and images are on the ‘living room’, all of the homes featured were highlighted in detail in past issues found via our archives from our slmag.net website. As always, we have great travel, fashion, and motoring columns to inspire and invigorate you. We hope this issue is inspiration to encourage you into a new year and a new start!
