Academy of the Sacred Heart.
Now in its third century, the Academy of the Sacred Heart is the area’s oldest school, founded in 1818 by St. Philippine Duchesne. A Catholic, independent school for children of all faiths, the Academy educates boys and girls in PreK-3 through Eighth grade. Students create using 3D printers, explore coding, program drones, and the littlest learners pedal away on “smart bikes,” which pair movement with iPads. The new Broadcast Classroom provides unlimited opportunities to develop video editing and production skills.
A rigorous curriculum is enhanced by a focus on written expression, hands-on science, study of Spanish and French, daily PE, engaging art and active music classes. Students enjoy learning on a historic and beautiful 10-acre campus in St. Charles. Eighth Class graduates matriculate into the region’s finest high schools and maintain a lasting relationship as alumni. For more information, visit ash1818.org or call 636-946-6127.
