INGE AGAIN album THIS IS A STORY. AND A PAINTING, WORDS HAVE NO USE HERE. THIS IS FOR YOU TO READ AND WRITE YOUR OWN STORY. HI> my name is debbi chan and: I AM AN ARTIST AND LIVE IN A BARN ON A FARM ON A MOUNTAIN IN IDAHO. after moving from Houston, Texas (where i was born and lived about 50 years) to Idaho i began to open to the beauty that now surrounded me. highrise buildings of steel were replaced with high pines and cedars that danced in the wind. i could plant trees, see stars at night, and when i looked from studio windows there were moose, bear, mountain lion, elk, and deer instead of streets and freeways filled with cars and busy people. the neighbors watch over me but i see few people during a week. my days are filled from sunup to late night with art and everything that goes in to it. i share my days with the wild critters and a few dogs and horses and such that live here on the mountain with me. the idea for publishing magazines was one of practicality. i had discovered very large folding albums with rice paper pages which suited the new path i and my art were headed on. i might add that i paint in one or both styles of traditional Chinese art schools even though my subject matter might not be Chinese... the finished story paintings were too lengthy, over 70 ft., to be easily read by anyone but me. so here came the idea to publish each completed album as a magazine which would be availble in print or online forms. throughout early Asian art history horizontal scrolls and albums were meant to be read as a book held in one’s hands. some had writing and some did not. this magazine INGE AGAIN, is named after my fellow artist and dear friend, INGE, and her nemisis, a guinea pig named Chima, neither of which i have met in person. we have shared an online friendship for several years and it is because of them that i found the NETHERLANDS. enjoy INGE AGAIN and look for past and future issues.
THE END
the following pages are details from the original painting. if you don’t look closely at the art as you go thru the magazine you might miss some surprizing or interesting things. i am giving you a few closeup views.
