Frida Kahlo Diego y yo Frida Kahlo’s arresting self-portrait Diego y yo (Diego and I) sold for $34.9 million, shattering the artist’s own previous high of $8 million. A modern art masterpiece, the painting also set a benchmark for a work of Latin American art, as Kahlo took up the mantle from her husband Diego Rivera who held that record with a price of $9.8 million. Executed in 1949, the enigmatic portrait last appeared at auction in 1990 when it sold for $1.4 million at Sotheby’s New York. The self-portrait was the most recurrent genre in Frida Kahlo’s short but intense pictorial production. Altogether, a third of all her oeuvre are self-portraits — notwithstanding several more in which her presence was either metaphorical or symbolic.

Yoshitomo Nara Nice to See You Again A monumental work that epitomizes the artist's career-long exploration of themes of innocence, adolescence, and universal angst, Yoshitomo Nara’s Nice to See You Again stands as one of the strongest and most striking paintings of the artist’s thirty-year career. Banksy Trolley Hunters Iconic, instantly recognizable, and caustically humorous, the work of legendary street artist Banksy continues to shock and satirize. Featured in Barely Legal, Banksy’s seminal 2006 exhibition in Los Angeles that triggered widespread acclaim and recognition for the artist, Trolley Hunters is the perfect incarnation of Banksy’s distinctive marriage of street art, graffiti and satire. Featuring three prehistoric men in a desert, the atmosphere of Trolley Hunters is both eerie and lighthearted, its illustrative style belying the acerbic humor and depth of meaning of the painting. Thomas Schütte Großer Geist Nr. 1 Thomas Schütte’s monumental and enigmatic Großer Geist Nr. 1 is exemplary of the artist’s most seductive explorations of anthropomorphic form, and is one of only three Große Geister executed polished bronze, with the other two housed at the Rubell Museum in Miami and the other in the Neues Museum in Weimar, Germany. Other figures from the series, which Schütte executed between 1996 and 2004, reside in prestigious international collections including the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg in Germany. A stunning example of Schütte’s iconic Große Geister series, Großer Geist Nr. 1 arrests its viewers with its imperceptible gaze, its sleek and reflective sheen, and its dramatic scale, eliciting intensive meditation on the human condition.

Pablo Picasso Figure (Projet pour un monument à Guillaume Apollinaire) In the history of modern sculpture, Picasso’s Figure (Projet pour un monument à Guillaume Apollinaire) stands as a hallmark of radical innovation in three-dimensional form. Commissioned to mark the poet’s grave in Père Lachaise cemetery, the monument inaugurated a new conception of sculpture as bounded space. Conceived as Picasso’s homage to his poet-friend, who died prematurely in 1918 at the age of 39, Picasso’s work on the monument inspired him to reinvent his own complex sculptural processes. A historic accomplishment, Figure (Projet pour un monument à Guillaume Apollinaire) is the largest of the related sculptures in private hands and the first of its kind ever to come to auction.

2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Competing against the Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1, the Porsche 918 Spyder proved to hold its own against the best that the automotive industry could muster. Utilizing premium materials, top-quality components and cuttingedge technology, Porsche created a car that was not only stunning in its performance, but equally stunning in its looks and sheer attention to detail. The 918 bridges the gap between traditional, combustion engines and completely electric powertrains. The company utilized the 918 to introduce electric power to enthusiasts, invigorate them and also adapt its lessons to the development of the Taycan. With few examples produced, the 918 Spyder’s collectability

Over the past decade, collecting significant cars has evolved into an exercise in connoisseurship, on par with collecting fine art – a pursuit that predates the invention of the automobile. 1935 Mercedes-Benz 500 K Three-Position Roadster by Windovers Like several other Full Classic marques, the supercharged eight-cylinder Mercedes-Benz models of the late 1930s were all almost entirely fitted with coachwork by the manufacturer’s own Sindelfingen coachworks. Factory coachwork was successful in being both attractive and well-built, thus in the case of the 500 K model, of which 342 chassis were constructed, only 41 of those were sold as bare chassis to be clothed by outside coachbuilders, and perhaps only ten or so of those received bodies by British coachbuilders. One of those surviving British-bodied Mercedes is the extraordinary 1935 Mercedes-Benz 500 K, which in the slippery audaciousness of its full-figured curves, outshines many of the best-recognized factory cabriolets and roadsters produced by Sindelfingen.

Since 2001, renowned vintners, celebrity chefs and wine glitterati have been flocking to Florida for the Naples Winter Wine Festival — the No. 1 charity wine auction in the United States. Scott Lutgert, chairman of The Lutgert Companies (Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s parent company), is one of the founding trustees of the festival, which since its inception has raised over $220 million for the Naples Children & Education Foundation. Scott and his wife, Simone, have been integral to the event’s enormous success in countless capacities, including serving as festival co-chairs in 2005, 2017 and 2022 and personally hosting 17 vintner dinners. United with fellow trustees and volunteers, their commitment to at-risk and underprivileged children in Collier County is steadfast, inspiring a kind of generosity that set a new precedent for charity wine auctions all over the globe — surpassing results of the iconic Auction Napa Valley five years in a row (and counting). LOCAL FOCUS, LASTING IMPACT With deep roots in Naples spanning five decades, this philanthropic philosophy began in the 1960s when Scott’s father, company founder Raymond Lutgert, purchased Gulf-front property to develop Naples’ landmark Park Shore area.
