Schon seit 1992 sitzen wir auf dem Fahrrad. Früher sind wir mit abgeschnittenen Hosen aus Bundeswehrbeständen und T-Shirts gefahren. Aus einem einfachen Grund: Der unschlagbare Casual Look. Gefehlt hat uns dabei aber die Funktion guter Bike-Bekleidung. Zeit die Dinge selbst in die Hand zu nehmen. triple2 stellt Fahrradbekleidung her, die sowohl in der Natur als auch in der Stadt funktioniert und gleichzeitig so nachhaltig, ökologisch und sozial gerecht hergestellt wird wie irgend möglich. Das ist für uns eine große Herausforderung. Denn wir vereinen beide Anforderungen in einem Produkt. Damit ersparen wir uns unnötigen Materialeinsatz und einen hohen Energieverbrauch. Ihr Vorteil liegt darin, dass Sie nur ein Produkt für unterschiedliche Einsatzbereiche benötigen. Unsere Produkte können beides: Gut aussehen auf dem Weg zur Arbeit und optimal funktionieren beim Mountainbiken. Dabei harmoniert der Casual-Style hervorragend mit unseren völlig neu entwickelten Materialien, die ausschließlich aus nachhaltigen Quellen stammen. Ob Hanffasern, Bio-Baumwolle, recyceltes Polyester oder Merino-Wolle, triple2 geht einen neuen Weg. Its seems like we have been riding our Bikes for ever. At the beginning we didn‘t want to look like these total nerds with super high functional bike wear. We preferred to look cool and casual. After a few years we realized what advantages functional bike wear actually had. This meant we had to make a compromise: Look like a nerd but be able to wear clothes that function. No bike wear clothes existed at that time that combined super functionality with a casual look. It was time for a change. triple2 makes bike wear that functions with nature, as well as in the city. At the same time our clothes are ecological, sustainable and are produced under fair conditions. All this combined in one product is a big challenge. triple2 combines functionality with a casual look. This means: Our product looks good and can help you through your strenuous ride. Our new developed materials originate solely from sustainable sources. It doesn´t matter if it be hemp fibres, eco cotton, recycled polyester or merino wool, triple2 wants to take a new path.

Eco Bikewear Fakten

Unsere Produkte sind vorwiegend aus einem Gemisch aus recyceltem Polyester und Hanffasern hergestellt. Dieser Mix hat enorme Vorteile: Er trocknet extrem schnell, ist abriebfest und hoch atmungsaktiv, verfügt über einen weichen, seidigen Touch und schützt aktiv vor UV- Strahlen und Schweißgeruch. Daneben verwenden wir außerdem Merino - Wolle die unter artgerechten Bedingungen in Neuseeland produziert wird und GOTS zertifizierte Bio - Baumwolle. Hanffasern werden seit über 3000 Jahren vorwiegend in China für die Textilproduktion eingesetzt und bietet neben einer natürlichen, antibakteriellen Funktion zahlreiche Vorteile wie schnelles Wachstum, kein Pestiziedeinsatz und minimaler Wasserverbrauch. Für die Polyesterfasern nutzen wir neben gebrauchten PET-Flaschen auch alte Materialien wie Stoffreste. Mit diesen Maßnahmen gelingt es uns, bereits bei der Wahl der Grundstoffe 70 Prozent Energie und CO 2 einzusparen. Je nach Web- und Strickart gelingt es uns außerdem, unsere Produkte den unterschiedlichsten Bedingungen anzupassen.

Many of our products are made out of a mixture of recycled polyester and hemp fibers mixture. This has many advantages: The material dries fast, it is abrasion resistant, highly breathable, has a soft touch, is UV protective and reduces moisture smell. Another material we use for our products is Merino wool, which is produced in New Zeeland a free range farming system, which is animal- and environment friendly. Further we make use of GOTS certified eco cotton. For over 3000 years China has been making use of hemp for their textile fibers production. Besides offering a natural, antibacterial function, hemp is also a fast growing resource, without pesticide usage and little need of water. For our Polyester fibers we use PET bottles and material waste. With the choice of our fabrics we are able to save 70% of energy and CO 2.

Verantwortung

Verantwortung fängt bei uns bereits im Büro an. Wir arbeiten ausschließlich mit recyceltem Papier für Verpackungen und Marketing Material, beziehen unseren Strom aus regenerativen Quellen und fahren kurze Wege wann immer es geht mit dem Rad. Natürlich hört unser Engagement nicht außerhalb unseres Büro auf. Wir helfen der Natur wo wir nur können. Wir kümmern uns um die Pflege von Trails, Wegen und Wäldern. Wir haben uns außerdem dazu entschlossen Teile unseres Gewinnes aktiv zum Schutz der Regenwälder zu nutzen. In Kooperation mit dem Programm Treems kaufen wir in regelmäßigen Abständen Bäume, die im Namen von triple2 in den Regenwäldern von Ecuador und Brasilien geschützt und bewahrt werden. So binden wir nicht nur eine Menge CO 2, sondern bieten der Tier- und Planzenwelt mit ihren sehr selten Arten eine sichere Heimat. Wir streben außerdem die Aufnahme in der Fair Wear Foundation an. So können wir in Zukunft herausragende Arbeitsbedingungen und hohe soziale Standards garantieren.

Responsibility

Not only the products we produce are made under responsible conditions but also our office falls under the eco spotlight. All our packaging and marketing material is made from recycled paper, our electricity is covered by renewable sources and whenever possible we use our bikes to get around. Our commitment does not stop when we step out of the office. We help nature where we can. We have decided to use part of our profits to actively protect the rain forests. In cooperation with Treems we will be buying trees at regular intervals, contributing to preserving the rain forests in Ecuador and Brazil. This way we are able to bind a lot of CO 2 and at the same time offer the animal world and plants with rare species a secure home. We also strive to be included in the Fair Wear Foundation, to be able to ensure future outstanding working conditions and high social standards.

Produktion

Wir haben uns bewusst für den Produktionsstandort China entschieden. Aus vielen guten Gründen: China verfügt über eine Jahrelange gewachsene, hervorragende Qualität in der Textilproduktion. Unseren Produzenten ist kein Schnitt zu schwer und keine Aufgabe zu kniffelig. Eine Lösung findet sich hier für jedes Problem. Wir lassen unsere Produkte in einer kleinen Fabrik herstellen, die über einige Jahre Erfahrung in der Produktion von umweltverträglichen Materialien verfügt. Die Fabrik wird vom unabhängigen Schweizer Institut IMO in regelmäßigen Abständen auf Sozialstandards, Marktökologie und Umweltmanagement Maßnahmen kontrolliert. Die Beschäftigung von Minderjährigen gibt es in unserer Fabrik de facto nicht. Unsere Arbeiter sind mit Engagement und Weitsicht bei der Sache und werden dafür mit überdurchschnittlich hohen Gehältern entlohnt. Unsere Produktion wird regional mit den Materialien versorgt, die wir für unsere Produkte benötigen. So stammt der Hanf aus West-China, ebenso wie das recycelte Polyester und alle Zubehörteile. So schaffen wir extrem kurze Wege und ein schnelles Handling der Prozesse innerhalb unserer Produktion. Dadurch sparen wir extrem viele Ressourcen, im Gegensatz zu einer in Europa gestreuten Produktion. Von der PET- Flasche bis zum fertigen Produkt stammen unsere Materialien aus einer Region. Auch die zukünftig verwendete Merino-Wolle hat es nicht weit. Sie stammt aus Neuseeland und hat damit rund 10.000km weniger Weg zurück zu legen, als bis nach Europa! Außerdem kann uns kein anderes Land für einen bezahlbaren Preis und unter Berücksichtigung aller Faktoren eine so umweltfreundliches, sozial verantwortliches und qualitativ hochwertiges Produkt liefern.

Production

We have carefully chosen the production site in China, for many good reasons: China has been able to develop over many years an excellent high quality textile production. No cut is too difficult, no task too tricky for our producer. A solution will be found for any problem. Our products are produced in a small factory, which has several years experience in the production of environmentally friendly materials. The factory is regularly checked by a strict and independent Swiss Institute IMO to control social standards, market ecology and environmental management measure. Child labour does not exist in our factory. Our employees feel committed and are rewarded with a higher than average salary. Our factory is supplied regionally with the materials we need for our products. Our hemp fibres come from West China, as well as our recycled polyester and all other accessories. This way we create extremely short distances and are able to handle our processes very fast within our production. This saves us many resources, as in comparison to many scattered European production processes that work less efficient. In addition, taking all factors into account that add up to our product: environmentally friendly, socially responsible, high quality product- no other country can provide us with all of that factors at an affordable price. Why not use the knowledge and expertise China has, at work in an environmentally and social responsible way.

DIPL.- SOZ.- WISS. JULIA BOHLMANN Unser Marketing- und Kommunikations-Spezialistin. Julia studierte Kommunikationswissenschaften und arbeitet als KampagnenManagerin für ein großes Software-Unternehmen. Julia ist außerdem ein Sport-Crack. Sie hat aktiv Hockey, Fußball und Leichtathletik betrieben. Inzwischen ist sie außerdem zu einer enthusiastischen Mountainbikerin geworden. Julia schüttelt ständig neue, clevere Ideen aus dem Ärmel und gibt dadurch kreativen Input, insbesondere für die triple2 girls wear. Our marketing and communications specialist. Julia studied communications and works as campaign manager supporting a major software company. She is also a sports expert and has actively played hockey, football and athletics. Over the years Julia has also become an enthusiastic mountain biker and constantly comes up with new, clever ideas and is thus a creative input, particularly for girls triple2 wear.

DIPL.- ING. MATTHIAS DREUW Matthias ist diplomierter Ingenieur im Fachbereich regenerative Energietechnik. Er machte sein Hobby zum Beruf und arbeitet seit sieben Jahren in der MountainbikeBranche, hauptsächlich als Test-Redakteur bei einer großen deutschen Mountainbikezeitschrift. Sein Aufgabengebiet: der Test von Bike Wear. Matthias sitzt seit 1992 auf dem Bike. Durch seine Erfahrung und sein Wissen über Bikewear, Energie- und Umweltschutztechnik kam Matthias die Idee, seine eigene eco bike wear zu entwickeln. Matthias is an engineer whos major lies in the field of renewable energy technology. He turned his hobby into a profession and has been working for seven years in the mountain bike industry, mainly working as a test editor for a major German mountain bike magazine. His area of responsibility: testing bike wear. Mattthias has been biking since 1992. With his experience and knowledge of bike wear, energy and environmental technology Matthias had the vision to develop his own eco bike wear.
