A MESSAGE FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR Dear Friends, Welcome to Soulpepper’s 2015 season, our biggest, boldest, and most diverse season ever. Soulpepper is your theatre company. It belongs to the citizens of this city and, as such, holds a unique position in the national theatre ecology. Our profoundly gifted company of artists are, like you, citizens of this community and represent the cultural, generational, and artistic diversity of your city. The work on our stages looks out to the world while simultaneously focusing on our national voices. Our offerings are multi-disciplinary and expansive in their scope; they acknowledge the gifts of our collective cultural past while imagining our creative future as a nation. This is the Soulpepper to which you belong, and in 2015 there will be a large and generous ensemble of your city’s finest artists to welcome you. With your 2015 Soulpepper subscription you will have the opportunity to see a full slate of Mainstage Plays from the international and national repertoire. You will also be able to enjoy our brand new Studio Series, and our rapidly growing Concert Series, all in the same package. This new ultimate flexibility allows you to plan your Soulpepper calendar with a package of shows as diverse as Soulpepper itself. I am very proud of what this company has achieved in its first decade and a half, but I am even more excited about what we will achieve together in the future! I’ll see you at the theatre. Best,

Milan’s Piazza Fontana in 1969. Arrested for his suspected involvement in the bombing, a known anarchist mysteriously falls from the fourth floor window of the police station, setting in motion this masterpiece of comic absurdity. In Fo’s masterful hands a tragic situation turns into a madcap romp and a powerful act of political theatre.

BUILDING YOUR CIVIC THEATRE TOGETHER
A
theatre is more than a building or what we see on stage. It is a community – a place of Belonging for Artists and Audiences. This is your theatre! Support from donors like you is what has allowed Soulpepper to become Toronto’s largest theatre, and it is support from donors like you that will enable our 2015 season to reach new heights. In 2015, with your support we will: •
Provide meaningful creative employment for Toronto’s largest company of artists
•
Launch the next generation of artistic leaders through the Soulpepper Academy
•
M entor youth from across Toronto to help develop and celebrate their unique creativity
•
Innovate how we share our stories with new audiences across Canada and abroad
When you make a contribution to Soulpepper, your gift supports the work of the company in all these areas. Our 2015 season marks an exciting journey for Soulpepper and we invite you to join us. Please consider a gift to Soulpepper with your subscription or ticket order. Thank you!
