16 tablespoon of unsalted butter

2 ½ tablespoon of cake flour

2 ½ tablespoon of baking powder

1 tablespoon of kosher salt

½ cup of milk

1 ½ cup of sugar

4 eggs

2 tablespoon of lemon zest

2 tablespoon of lemon juice

1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

For Curd •

½ cup of sugar

3 eggs

1 tablespoon of lemon zest

8 tablespoon of unsalted butter


For butter cream & Garnish •

¾ cup of sugar

3 egg whites

20 tablespoon of unsalted butter

I tablespoon of vanilla extract

2 oz of white chocolate

1/8 tablespoon of kosher salt

Baking Procedure Lemon curd cake with chocolate toppings is one of the favourite birthday cakes in Ahmadabad. It is quite simple to prepare at home and the following steps mention how to do it. •

Initially the oven is heated till 350 degrees. Thereafter baking powder, whisk flour and salt are added in a bowl. These are mixed properly by adding butter, sugar, juice and zest and allow the mixture to settle for around 3 minutes. Gently add egg yolk into the mixture and mix it properly. Put the entire mixture into a mixer grinder so that the batter gets ready and remains smooth throughout. Once the batter is ready, it is allowed to cool for 30 minutes at room temperature.

To prepare the curd, sugar, lemon juice, and zest, eggs are taken in a vessel and mixed properly. Thereafter the mixture in a pan is heated on medium temperature for around 10 minutes. The heat is removed and is allowed to cool.

Butter cream is prepared by placing eggs and sugar in a bowl and mixed properly. It is put in a mixer and upon stirred properly, white chocolate, salt and vanilla are added.

Finally, the cake layer is placed on a stand and cud is spread on the top of it. The procedure is repeated for the rest of the layers. Butter cream is applied on the other side surfaces so that it covers the cake properly. Lemon slices are placed on top for garnishing.
