sound52 is changing lives in Lincolnshire The most ambitious participatory music project ever to take place in the East Midlands, sound52 is a truly pioneering enterprise, taking live music-making into the community on an unprecedented scale. Through sound52, music workshops have already been delivered to over 6,000 young people across the county. From pre-school children in Early Years settings to teenagers in youth clubs, thousands have responded to the power and sheer enjoyment of live music-making, developing confidence, pride, social spirit and a sense of purpose. Other sound52 achievements include: •the production of two CDs •the creation of 10 original dance tracks •the development of a team of county-wide workshop facilitators •Meltdown, a major music festival which proved a fitting climax to an eventful year sound52 has been designated a Youth Music Action Zone - one of only 20 such zones in the country - and has been made possible through a complex package of funding. Funding continues too: resources have been pledged to maintain the sound52 momentum, extending it to the furthest reaches of the community. Making Even More Music...Changing Even More Lives. sound52 is managed by soundLINCS - Lincolnshire’s music development agency.
