Easter Shows at the Unicorn Theatre This Easter, the Unicorn Theatre is presenting two exciting new shows for ages 2 to 6 and 7+. Gulliver’s Travels is an adventurefilled modern adaptation of Jonathan Swift’s surreal masterpiece that explores home, escapism and the power of stories to
transform audiences’ views of the world. Gulliver’s fantastical imaginings are vividly brought to life using a video camera, intricate tabletop sets and projection in this playful, funny and highly inventive show for everyone aged 7 and over. It will be at the Unicorn from now until 3 May. Make your trip extra special by booking a post-show workshop after selected performances of Gulliver’s Travels. There are also plenty of family-friendly things to do in the local area to help you make a day of it. For younger audiences, Wild is a new stage adaptation of the glorious picture book about a little girl who lives in the forest and is irrepressibly and wonderfully wild. It is brought to life by
Family Theatre inventive young company, How It Ended. Told with atmospheric sound, movement and puppetry, this show is for ages 2 to 6 and celebrates the free spirit in all of us. Easter at Southbank Centre This Easter at Southbank Centre there is an egg-cellent programme of fantastic family shows and free events for kids, big and small. Under the sea, out on the farm and into the jungle, four terrific tales by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler are brought to life on stage with music and puppetry. Funky moves, toe-tapping tunes and giggles are guaranteed in Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales. At Big Up! watch as a beatboxer, a singer and a puppeteer create a world full of joy and chaos, where objects come to life and everything is possible. Or be in stitches at Comedy Club 4 Kids, where the best stand-ups around do their thing for a family audience – without the rude bits! Far away and high on a hill, Claud builds a Cloud Factory and, with a little help from you, fluffy dreams may come true. Intotheclouds is a playful and sensory first-time theatre experience.
