Easter Duck Quest Get outdoors this Easter at London Wetland Centre from 4 to 19 April and have fun finding giant yellow ducks hidden amongst their real life, weird and wonderful duck cousins. Pick up a trail card upon arrival and start your quest. Learn facts about the beautiful ducks in the centre’s World Wetlands while you hunt for the giant yellow ducks hidden among them. Find them all to win a yummy prize! It costs just £1 per trail including your prize. Pay at the centre. There’s no need to book. London Wetland Centre is home to a wide variety of duck species, from the brightly coloured Mandarin to adorable whistling ducks. Ducks are particularly wonderful at this time of year with male ducks displaying their bright breeding feathers. There are loads of other activities to enjoy every day. Drop into a Spotlight talk, otter feed or help feed the farmyard ducks at Duck Tales. Go wild in the indoor and outdoor play areas and test your balance and bravery on the Wild Walk. Funky Monkey Keyboard Classes’ Easter Workshops Funky Monkey Keyboard Classes’ Cheeky Chick workshops for beginners aged 4 to 8 are a perfect opportunity to try out the keyboard and make music the fun way, all with an Easter theme. Children learn in small groups how to write and play the notes C to G, as well as trying some famous tunes using electronic keyboards. It’s a wonderful, relaxed introduction to practical and theoretical music. With games, quizzes and art activities, all based around music thrown in for good measure, you’ll be amazed how much they can learn whilst having fun. A Confident Start with Jigsaw Performing Arts As the days grow longer and we hold out hope for the sun to reappear, there is some good news – Jigsaw is now open for booking for the Summer term. Jigsaw’s popular dance, singing and drama weekend classes for 3 to 18-year-olds develop children’s confidence, selfexpression, focus and social skills, while they have fun and make lots of new friends. Easter Holiday Computer Coding Workshops in South London Did you know? Computer coding is one of the key digital life skills that will prepare your child for the future. As computers permeate every facet of our lives, it is a well-known fact that the digital skills gap has been increasing. In the UK alone, it’s thought that close to a million jobs will remain unfilled in 2020. Computer coding is a key digital life skill, and like spoken languages, the earlier you start, the more competent you will be. Spark4Kids are running all-day holiday workshops that introduce children to computer coding through the medium of games. Courses are available on Minecraft Modding, Roblox Coding, Robotics, Games Design, MicroBit and Arduino coding, Unity/C#, Python, HTML/CSS and JavaScript in a fun, engaging environment.
