Why The Dance Space?
Whether you are looking to find a studio for your dance class, a space for a one-off workshop, or a residency to make or rehearse work, we would love to host you.
The Dance Space is:
• Very convenient to get to, right by the sea, in a buzzy, creative city
• The only building in Brighton & Hove designed especially for dance, with sprung floors, running walls and aerial strongpoints
• A modern, environmentally sustainable, accessible building with light and airy spaces and state of the art technology
• Run by South East Dance, a registered charity, so every penny you spend supports dance in the local community
• Full of friendly people ready to help you with your visit
Regular Classes
We run a busy timetable of weekly classes of all dance styles and for all abilities. Although our building was created especially for dance, other movement and therapeutic practices are also very welcome in the programme.

Our Studio Spaces
The Aldridge Community Space and the Weston Research Space are versatile, wheelchair accessible studios on the ground floor of The Dance Space. Each space can hold about 20-25 people dancing and the sprung floors, big windows and mirrors (with optional curtains) add to the experience for everyone in the class.
We believe in complementing the great work that other studios in Brighton & Hove are already doing so try to avoid classes in direct competition.

Workshops and Rehearsals
If you need somewhere to hold a workshop, rehearsal, audition, or even a summer school, The Dance Space could be the answer.
Our three flexible studios can provide high-spec options for individual artists and companies of varying sizes to use.

Residencies
Consider The Dance Space your home for a week - or three - and create, develop or rehearse your work with us.
As an artist in residence in the Jamie Watton Creation Space you will be in our largest, double height space with:
• Junkers sprung dance floor with a Harlequin overlay
• Mid-scale lighting rig
• AV sound system with Bluetooth
• Access to kitchenette, green room, accessible showers and changing room facilities
• Retractable seating with 120 seats
• Ceiling strongpoints for aerial dance
