About South East Dance

At South East Dance we believe everyone should have fair and equal access to dance. We want to help people connect to dance in a way that makes a positive difference to their lives.

We know that many people face barriers that prevent them from taking part and benefitting from the creativity and wellbeing dance offers.

That’s why we work with community partners such as care homes, nurseries, youth and community centres, using dance as a way of supporting health and wellbeing; of tackling loneliness and isolation; of connecting us to each other.

That’s why we also work with artists who are committed to making dance that reflects the world we live in. Artists who want to create authentic connections with audiences and communities, and who challenge perceptions of what dance is, and what it can be.

At the heart of our work is The Dance Space: Brighton & Hove’s first dedicated home for dance. The Dance Space is an inclusive and welcoming place where everybody is free to define their own relationship with dance. Whether taking part in an accessible dance class, boosting their confidence and self-expression in a creative workshop, or experiencing a performance by an international dance artist.

The Dance Space is also a place where dance artists can connect with each other, take part in professional classes, and get career advice; as well as create, rehearse and present their work.

Partnership Opportunities

When you partner with South East Dance, you won’t just be supporting a local arts charity; you’ll be helping your community in many ways.

Here’s why your support matters:

You’ll Be Changing Lives

Dance has a hugely positive effect on our wellbeing, both physically and emotionally. At South East Dance, we use the power of dance to make a real difference, working with people of all ages and backgrounds, many of whom wouldn’t be able to access creative activity otherwise. Our activities are social, they reduce isolation and help us to connect with each other.

You’ll Be Helping Artists Grow

We’re passionate about helping both new and established artists to develop their skills and strengthen their careers. By supporting us, you’re not only investing in artists of the future, but you’re also making our local arts scene richer and better.

You’re Getting More People Dancing

We make sure that everyone can take part, no matter their age, ability or background. Your support helps us make dance accessible to everybody. And by everybody, we mean your team too!

You’re Bringing The Community Together

There’s more to our work than getting people dancing. We also help to develop the local economy and bring people together. We help to create jobs, connect people, and make life better for everyone in the area.

You’ll Be Enhancing Your Brand

When your business supports South East Dance, it demonstrates that you care about your community. It boosts your brand’s reputation and makes it more visible. People will see that you’re making a positive difference.

In a nutshell, supporting South East Dance is more than just making a donation; it’s an investment in your community’s culture and well-being. Partnering with us can bring positive change and an enhanced reputation for your business.

Join us, and together let’s make a genuine and lasting impact in your community.

“We’re proud to support South East Dance, as part of our neighbourhood community, and as a centre of collaboration and creativity, where local people can get involved in dance on their doorstep.”

“My three sons have all attended Puffin Community Nursery over the last six years, and have benefitted greatly from the sessions run by South East Dance. It is a fantastic partnership that creates opportunities for children who may not otherwise be able to access such activities.”
