Upon receipt of your FAFSA information from the Federal Processor, you will receive an e-mail from SEU with login instructions to a web portal where you can track your financial aid status and missing items. The information you provide on the FAFSA will be processed to determine your eligibility for all financial awards, grants, work-study, and loans. It is important to have completed your family’s most recent income tax returns before you complete the FAFSA.

Federal Financial Aid Eligibility To be eligible for federal grants, loans, and work-study, you must: n

Have demonstrated financial need (most programs). Eligibility is determined by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Show proof of high school graduation or GED approved by the U.S. Department of Education.

Be enrolled in an eligible academic program.

n

Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.

n

Register with the Selective Service, if you’re a male between the ages of 18 and 25.

n

Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by your college (to maintain eligibility).

Other Resources On-campus and off-campus student employment opportunities are numerous in our growing Lakeland economy. Approximately 60% of Southeastern University students work either on or off-campus. Southeastern also offers a convenient monthly payment plan that allows families to spread educational costs over a 10-month period. Academic Scholarships for Transfer Students Award

Criteria

Quest Scholars

Open to a student transferring credits from an accredited university with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. May qualify for up to eight consecutive semesters. Renewable by maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50. Full-time SEU enrollment required.

Journey Scholars

Open to a student transferring credits from an accredited university with a cumulative GPA between 3.00–3.49. May qualify for up to eight consecutive semesters. Renewable by maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00. Full-time SEU enrollment required.

Venture Scholars

Open to a student transferring credits from an accredited university with a cumulative GPA between 2.50–2.99. May qualify for up to eight consecutive semesters. Renewable by maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50. Full-time SEU enrollment required.

Deadline for academic scholarship eligibility is July 1 for the Fall semester and December 1 for the Spring semester. Transfer student is a student with 12 credit hours or more after high school graduation.

National Merit Scholars National Hispanic Scholars National Achievement Scholars

Qualifying students must be named as finalists in any of the listed programs. Scholarships are renewable by maintaining a GPA of 3.60 or higher. May qualify for up to eight consecutive semesters. Full-time SEU enrollment required.

Family Discount

Parents, children, spouses, or siblings who are immediate family members enrolled in the same semester are eligible for this discount. The award covers 10% of tuition charges for the siblings or spouses with the highest need. Children or siblings must be a dependent from the same immediate family. (Dependent is defined as “dependent student� for federal financial aid purposes.) Full-time SEU enrollment is required for all students to be eligible. Discounted programs including, but not limited to, the Forum, Evening/Weekend, Online, and Academy are not eligible for this discount.

Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival Scholarships Fine Arts Scholarships are available to participants in the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival. To be eligible, students must be first-time freshmen or undergraduate transfers and enroll as a full-time traditional student (minimum 12 credit hours per semester). Scholarships are renewable by maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00. Students can only receive one of the following awards: Award

Earned a superior rating in a category that falls under a degree program at Southeastern University. Scholarships are renewable for up to eight consecutive semesters.

Assemblies of God Scholarships and Grants Award

Assemblies of God Tuition Scholarship

Must be an A/G minister, chaplain, or full-time administrator at an A/G Christian school (K–12); spouses and dependents also eligible. Based on need. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to be eligible.

Assemblies of God Missionary Dependent Scholarship

Dependent children of appointed Assemblies of God foreign and national home missionaries, who itinerate for their support and serve on a full-time basis. (Dependent is defined as “dependent student” for federal financial aid purposes.) Based on need. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to be eligible. Full-time SEU enrollment is required.

SEU Pastoral Scholarships Award

Available to pastors to finish their bachelor’s degree at SEU (Online or Evening/Weekend).

Federal Financial Aid Programs Award

Florida Resident Financial Aid Programs Award

Florida Student Assistance Grant

A need-based grant for full-time, undergraduate, Florida residents. Must submit an accurate, complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by May 15. Priority deadline date April 15.

Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program

Outstanding Florida high school seniors with a 3.85 unweighted grade point average may participate. Students must be nominated by their high school. Apply online at www.f loridastudentfinancialaid.org.

Up to $1,500

Florida Prepaid

A student who is eligible for the Florida Prepaid program should receive a letter from Florida Prepaid, which will direct the student to complete a transfer form. The form must be submitted to Florida Prepaid in order to authorize Southeastern University to receive payments.

Amounts vary based on program selected.

A completed, accurate Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required for all state funding.

Alternative Loans Award

Criteria

Alternative private loans are available from a variety of lenders and are designed to help cover costs not covered by federal and institutional financial aid. You should apply for federal financial aid (FAFSA) before considering an alternative private loan.

September Submit application for admission. This can be done online at SEU.edu. Make a list of test names, dates, fees, registration deadlines, and of deadlines for college admissions and financial aid applications Remember that you must take the SAT I or ACT at least six weeks before the deadline in order for scores to be submitted to each college. Southeastern requires test scores for admission and academic scholarship eligibility. Begin asking teachers, guidance counselors, and employers for letters of recommendation to include with your admission and/or scholarship applications. Southeastern requires a Christian Character Assessment for undergraduate admission.

December Review the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. It is recommended you apply online to obtain a student and/or parent pin number. Note: Do not submit the FAFSA before January 1 or without having completed your household tax return(s). Apply for outside funding or civic scholarships

Your SAR contains your federal financial aid information. April Make your final decision and submit your enrollment deposit and necessary enrollment confirmation forms by the deadline. Check with the college you have chosen regarding the details of signing and returning financial aid award letters.
