Paola Cabrera Psychology major from Asunción, Paraguay Paola, a sophomore, arrived at Southeastern as an international student from South America. She felt at home from “the moment I stepped foot on campus.” Not only has she made lifelong friends at SEU, but she is taking advantage of the numerous ways to give back, including leading a mission trip to her home country. “If you have a heart to serve, Southeastern is definitely the place for you.”

Jared Parks Leadership major from Olean, New York Jared, a sophomore, works as a resident assistant in Destino Hall, where he gets to pour into the lives of his fellow male students. God has taught Jared humility through his stint on the Fire basketball team as a freshman, and SEU has helped him become more focused on others. Jared and the guys in his dorm seek to live out Micah 6:8, which states, “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” “It’s a very encouraging atmosphere where your day can be changed in an instant. People just want to see you grow.”

Location. Location. Location. Our beautiful, modern campus is located in sunny Lakeland, Florida, within 30 minutes of Tampa and the Disney area of Orlando. The campus has everything you need along with some extras, including a relaxing pool, gym, recreation center, and even a Starbucks! Approximately 1,500 students reside on campus in eight residence halls that accommodate different living preferences, including two- and four-room suites. Each residence hall is staffed with a full-time, professional resident director, resident assistants and community leaders. It’s our goal to make you feel right at home at Southeastern!

After building one of the top NCCAA athletic programs in the country, we moved to The Sun Conference of the NAIA in 2009 and have continued to develop championship-caliber teams and athletes. Our student-athletes compete year-round to make our university proud and give glory to God.

Our Fire athletic department has won 13 national championships and annually places athletes on the NCCAA or NAIA All-American teams. SEU’s baseball team was ranked in the top 25 nationally in the NAIA during the 2011 season. Athletic scholarships are available to qualified athletes. Dr. Emile Hawkins Associate Professor of Leadership Southeastern’s faculty members want to get to know their students on a personal level. Dr. Hawkins makes a point to give his cellphone number to his students in case they need help with class or just want to chat. According to Dr. Hawkins, Southeastern is “our home together.”

The Forum Since 2007, The National Leadership Forum has brought together some of the world’s top leadership and business experts on Southeastern’s campus. Under the premise that servant leaders are world-changers, The Forum seeks to instill principles of servant leadership in its participants. Southeastern University students can experience The Forum by taking it as a class, paying to attend as a regular conference-goer, or volunteering for the event. Past speakers have
included President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, Condoleeza Rice, Colin Powell, Jeb Bush, Tony Dungy, Kurt Warner, Franklin Graham, and Dave Ramsey. The 2012 Forum will take place March 8–9.
Honors Program The Honors Program consists of 24–30 hours of advanced study developed for incoming freshmen who have a demonstrated record of academic success prior to the start of their undergraduate studies. Honors Program participants must be
full-time students (taking a minimum of 12 credits per semester) and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.6 while at Southeastern. Benefits: Total $40,000 scholarship ($10,000 per year for four years); attendance at one of SEU’s annual National Leadership Forums. College of Business & Legal Studies In the midst of high unemployment, a lack of trust in financial institutions, and stricter government regulations, there is a greater need than ever for innovative business leaders with a strong moral and ethical foundation. Businesspeople with a Biblical worldview have an advantage when it comes to making moral decisions at work. Our professors equip students to become ethical, skillful, and internationally astute leaders - whether they pursue careers in business, government, higher education, or non-profits.
SIFE Students in Free Enterprise You don’t have to be an athlete to compete for a national title at SEU. The past two years, our SIFE team has been one of 160 from around the country to qualify for the SIFE national competition. The team develops community service projects focused on entrepreneurship, market economics, success skills, financial literacy, and business ethics, and then presents those projects in competition. Come help us win a national championship!
College of Christian Ministries & Religion Southeastern has been training and commissioning pastors, missionaries, and other church workers for decades, and you could be the latest to join in that long tradition of service. You will benefit greatly from the exhaustive ministry backgrounds of our dedicated faculty, as well as our partnerships with numerous local churches where you can gain practical experience.
Jerusalem See the Bible Come Alive Our Jerusalem Studies program allows you to walk where Jesus walked, studying Biblical history and Middle Eastern culture in our own beautiful, state-of-the-art facility in the heart of West Jerusalem. The program is open to all Southeastern students and required for College of Christian Ministries & Religion majors. You will earn 15 hours of credit during the semester, which includes five weeks of field study and nine hours of class credit in the Holy Land, as well as six hours of online course work at home. Take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see some of the most significant sites in the Bible!

Southeastern was founded as an Assemblies of God Bible institute in 1935 and has remained a key contributor to the denomination ever since. Does Southeastern have a Greek community? Well, the Tuscana Ristorante sometimes serves Greek food… but that’s probably not what you mean. SEU does not have any fraternities or sororities on campus. You’ll experience the same sense of belonging and exciting social activities that you would through Greek life through our residential life and student development programs. What are SEU’s most popular majors? Our top-five majors with the largest enrollment in 2010 were Practical Theology, Elementary Education, Human Services, Management, and Psychology.
