Who are our writers?

"Ruff!" says Mackenzie. In dog language that means: "I have a brand new bouncy ball!" It squeaks when she chews it CHEW, SQUEAK! CHEW, SQUEAK! Makenzie likes to chew, but what is her favorite thing to do? She loves to play catch! If you throw the ball, she catches it and brings it back. (Again and again, and again and again!) You might get tired of throwing it, but Mackenzie never gets tired of catching it! She catches it with a popping sound ... "POP!" PRANCE , TROT, SKIP, RUN! She brings the ball back for more ball fun.

Hi, I’m Leslie Flynn, and I am an Ayurvedic Health Coach. I help people to eat healthier so that their bodies can keep them healthy and strong all the days of their lives.

Ayurveda is an ancient science that was discovered more than 5000 years ago! Doctors today are just beginning to see how well it works.

What are the 2 most important things kids can do to be healthy? 1. Play with friends outside on sunny days or inside on cold days rather than watching TV or playing with computer games. 2. Choose healthy snacks! Page 5

What are two foods kids SHOULD be eating and two they should NOT be eating if they want to be healthy?

Good Choices – fruits that are in season

and vegetables that are in season! Summertime’s a great time to eat lots of watermelon, berries, and peaches. And plenty of cooked spinach, kale, and yummy asparagus. These foods will help you keep a healthy heart and strong bones.

Not-so-good Choices – soda pop or any

boxed look-alike food. We want to eat real food, right? These choices are not foods. They are full of sugar and chemicals that could make us sick! Page 6
