Self righteous people will always think they are right and everybody else is wrong., don't lower yourself to argue with them...first of all it gives them attention they don't deserve and takes focus off what is important...

Gordon Mote’s New Single "The Other Side” Hits Radio Wife Kimberly Joins Gordon on Album Highlight
Hot on the heels of Gordon Mote’s "#2 Southern Gospel Radio Single, "Meanwhile Back At the Cross,” New Haven Records has released "The Other Side,” the fourth single from Mote’s Dove Award Finalist CD, All Things New. Produced by Southern Gospel hit-maker Wayne Haun, "The Other Side” is a touching ballad duet featuring Gordon’s talented wife, Kimberly. Gordon reflects, "The past few years, Kimberly and I have had close friends and family who’ve experienced profound loss. Although we would never minimize someone’s grief, the Gospel truth is that we don’t grieve as those who have no hope. Instead, we live in the confidence that one day the Lord will reunite us with those we love and make all things new.” The theme of redemption and restoration pervades the entire 13-song project, which was produced by Country Music legend Frank Rogers along with selected cuts by multi-Dove Award winner Wayne Haun. Since its release, All Things New has become both a critical and fan favorite. Breathecast.com raved that listeners should "be prepared for lots of ‘wow’ moments.” Strictly Country, called All Things New "…one of the most artistically defined albums we have ever heard…the album that we compare all the others to” and highlighting "The Other Side” as one of the cuts that "…truly captured our souls.” Likewise, Soul-Audio and MusicScribe also singled out "The Other Side” as one of the album’s finest moments.
Through the years, Mote has enjoyed a high profile as a featured performer on The Gaither Homecoming Concert series as well as one of Music City’s most celebrated session players—culminating in two recent Academy of Country Music and Music Row Magazine Awards for Instrumentalist of the Year. Since stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Gordon has recorded an impressive body of work—three instrumental and six vocal albums—including the Dove Award Finalist All Things New (2014), Dove Award-nominated If You Could Hear What I See (2004), Don’t Let Me Miss the Glory (2007), Songs I Grew Up Singing (2012) and his acclaimed Christmas collection, The Star Still Shines (2012).
Wilburn & Wilburn Going Back To Prison It's one thing to go to prison, but to return to prison is another matter altogether. The good thing is that Wilburn & Wilburn is not going as a law-breaker, but as a guest to minister to the inmates. Wilburn & Wilburn will be traveling to Angola Prison in east central Louisiana on March 21st to sing and share their testimony to over 6,000 men incarcerated there. This is an annual trip for Father/Son Duo. This major event is made possible by a dear friend of the group, Glenda Jones. Glenda has been ministering at this prison for over 30 years. Angola Prison has in the past been known to be the most bloody prison in America. This was due to the high number of killings within the walls of this facility. Facing this terrible reputation a warden came along that understood the need for God in these men's lives. Warden Burl Cane has given these men the opportunity to not only worship, but he has injected a Bible School into the daily lives of these men. It is now one of the safest facilities in the world. Wilburn & Wilburn counts it an honor to be able to share their talents and testimony in Angola. They will also be taking part in a special Death Row service during our visit.
Their prayer is that God will use their efforts to help someone. Wilburn & Wilburn consider this to be one of their most important concerts of every year. One of the highlights includes a dinner prepared by the inmates. Jonathan Wilburn states "I promise that a free meal from these inmates will keep some Gospel singers coming back time and time again! We have a special CD offer to help with the expenses of this trip. If anyone would like to help just log on to www.wilburn2.com and scroll down to the $25 March Maddness special.” The Louisiana State Penitentiary (LSP, also known as Angola, has the nickname of the "Alcatraz of the South". It is the largest maximum security prison in the United States with 6,300 offenders and 1,800 staff. The prison houses Death Row for men and the state execution chamber for both sexes are located at the Angola facility. About Wilburn & Wilburn Wilburn & Wilburn, the Father – Son team of Jonathan and Jordan Wilburn are continuing the tradition for three generations. Jonathan spent the first 16 years of his Southern Gospel Music career singing with his family, the Wilburns, one of Gospel Music’s most beloved and respected families. In 1996 Jonathan would move to Gadsden, Alabama where he would anchor the lead position with Gold City for the next 12 years. Adding a dimension to this group is Jonathan's son Jordan. Feeling his call to sing Gospel music at a young age, it is a great match of Father and Son to create a great sound and an excitement that enhances any worship service.
The Klaudt Indian Family The Klaudt Family began with a teenage Native American Indian Lass that was the jockey for her father’s race horse business and a farm boy being kicked off a farm because he was called into the ministry, In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, the labor and farmhands were the children of the farm. If you had other interests besides farming, the farm had no use for you. Sometimes the Gospel of Christ brings together complete opposites to fulfill His will for carrying the message of Christ to Revival. Reinhold Klaudt’s farm, where he was born and raised, bordered on the boundary of the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in Northwest North Dakota. He was one of 14 children born to the marriage of Gottlieb and Katherine Klaudt. At a very young age the belief of God and servitude to Jesus was uppermost in the Klaudt household. There was still social and racial tension in that area of the Dakotas in the early 1900’s. So when Reinhold accepted Christ in his early teens, during a revival on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation and accepted a call into the ministry, his father asked him to leave the farm. Having no place to go, Reinhold moved in with the Indians and this is where his raising and early ministry began. Lillian Little Soldier, was born on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. Her great grandfather was Chief Sitting Bull and her grandfather was Little Soldier who was a scout for General Custer at the battle of the Little Big Horn in Crow Agency Montana. She was converted to Christianity thru the efforts of a missionary from New York by the name of Dr. Hall. Dr. and Mrs. Hall moved onto Fort Berthold in the late 1800’s and stayed on the reservation until their deaths. Their only daughter, Dora, then took up the mission work begun by her parents. Lillian became a special project for Dora and was schooled in piano and guitar by her. At that time, Lillian was the jockey for her father’s horse and racing business. She traveled all through the Dakotas and Montana riding and showing her father’s horses. As time went on, Reinhold and Lillian’s paths would cross as they ministered in their respective ministries on the reservation. Reinhold was holding revival meetings and Lillian was teaching young Indian Kids the simple message of Christ and music. It wasn’t but a matter of time before they began to date and eventually married in the year of 1929. Right after the marriage ceremony, they both got on their horses and rode to their first revival meeting. Thus began the humble beginning of the Klaudt Family. It wasn’t long before this new couple began to get ministerial calls into neighboring areas of North Dakota. They now had to make a decision, do we continue to travel by horse, or do we buy a car. So in the early part of 1930, they purchased a Model A Ford which further expanded this young couples message.
They were now ministering in South Dakota, Montana, and Minnesota, mostly on Indian reservations. Their ministry consisted of the Rev R.H. playing the banjo and Lillian playing the guitar; R.H. preaching and Lillian singing and giving her testimony. In July of 1930 Vernon was born to this young couple. When he reached the age of 6, he was added to the ministry and expanded the duet to a trio. Then things began to happen quickly. 1932, Ramona was born. In 1933 Melvin was added. Raymond was born in 1936 and Kenneth was born in 1943. So, by the time 1940 rolled around Dad Klaudt quit singing to just preach, and they now had duets, trios and a quartet comprised of Mom Klaudt, Vernon, Ramona and Melvin. Mom Klaudt now switched from the guitar to accompany the group with an accordion. They continued to use Fort Berthold Indian Reservation as their home base. Due to an accident that almost took the life of Dad Klaudt in 1944, the family decided to move to Cleveland Tennessee and a warmer climate. So in 1945 they began their trek to Cleveland Tennessee. This is where Mom Klaudt had visited in 1927 and Vernon spent one year of high school in 1945. Their move was sponsored by the Methodist Church. In 1946 they spent their first year of their North Dakota exodus in Southern Illinois. This is where they got their first taste of Southern Gospel Music when Dad Klaudt took the family to see and hear the Speer Family and Hershel Foshee’s Stamps Baxter Quartet. In 1947 they moved and settled into Southern Indiana. 1948 was spent in Kentucky, before they finally landed in Cleveland Tennessee in 1949. During those past several years the Klaudt siblings were honing their music and singing abilities. They were perfecting their skills on instruments such as trombone, trumpet, saxophone, guitar and upright bass. During the years of 1949 and 1950, Vernon, Ramona and Melvin were enrolled in Lee College, Cleveland Tennessee which had a High School division. During these years, the family spent much of their time singing and holding revivals in close proximity to the school. It was during a revival at the Hemphill Church of God in Atlanta, Georgia that they were invited to sing at Wally Fowler’s All Night singing in Atlanta. It was kind of a shock to see and hear a gospel group sing Southern Gospel Music at an allnight singing with an array of trumpet, trombone, saxophone, upright bass and accordion forming the back ground music
They were such an immediate hit, that Wally Fowler immediately started booking the family to his concerts. In 1951 the family moved to Atlanta Georgia and continued their singing, revival meetings and education. It was during the early 1950’s that their sister Ramona married and quit traveling. To take her place the two younger brothers Raymond and Kenneth were added to the family group. During their move away from the reservation, their mode of transportation changed drastically. They were one of the first groups to go from cars to bus. In 1962 they bought a bus to go along with their tent revivals that consisted of a tent that could expand to seat 3,000 which included semi-trucks and 10 KW power plants for lighting. The tent was purchased for the purpose of continuing to minster on Indian Reservations. The family still remembers their spiritual obligation to their American Indian peoples and heritage. Because of their Native American lineage, it was natural for them to begin wearing their native costumes for promotional purposes. The family was full time up until 1970 when they decided to semi-retire. Up until 1982, the family traveled quite extensively through the Southern Gospel singing circuit. The family retired full time from Southern Gospel Music in the year of 1982. Their interests during their semi-retirement period became the process of setting up businesses or vocations that they could slide into to support their growing families. Vernon and Raymond went into teaching in the Gwinnett County Georgia Public School Systems. This is where they eventually retired with 25 - 30 years of teaching experience. Kenneth, the youngest of the Brothers became part of the insurance industry in Metro Atlanta and now owns his own independent agency in Norcross, Georgia. Our sister Ramona manages a real estate office in Hoschton Georgia. Melvin went into real estate and construction. Mom and Dad Klaudt passed away in 2001 three months apart. Because of the strong ministerial background and burden for lost souls of their parents, and their parents continued desire to minister even into their nineties, the Klaudt siblings decided to form a non-profit foundation to honor their parents In 2004 the Klaudt Indian Memorial Foundation was established to primarily fund a scholarship assistant program for needy youth that wanted to pursue a ministry in music and or pulpit ministry. The foundation has assisted students to pursue this dream of ministry by presenting scholarships to, Lee University in Cleveland Tennessee, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, the University of Georgia, Ben Speer’s Stamps Baxter School of Music, and the Texas Southern Gospel School of Music.
The Foundation also produces printed materials for kid’s ministries which encourages young students to take an interest in Biblical and American History. The message of Christ is uppermost in the heart of the Klaudt Foundation. This is implemented through a television ministry that the Klaudt siblings knew was important to their parents. The TV ministry became a reality in 2011 and is entitled, “Just Keep Singing” It was first launched through WATC-TV 57 in Atlanta Georgia. It is now viewed in Savannah Georgia, Summerville Georgia, Macon Georgia, Rome Georgia and through Comcast cable in North Georgia which covers portions of Alabama, Tennessee and the Carolinas. It is also viewed in 149 nations around the world through AIC-TV out of Oklahoma City OK. The format for the program is simple but very effective. It has very little talking but a powerful thought provoking biblical message. The program does not ask for money, nor does it try to market product. The foundation to date has produced over 130 programs which uses many of the SGM Legends of the past plus many of the present SG Groups. Melvin is the Administrator of the Foundation and also produces and hosts the TV ministry. At the age of 82 he still maintains a rigorous schedule of speaking, fund raising and production time. His wife Margie is the Assistant Administrator and maintains all the books and scheduling of the foundation’s activities. How long will the ministry of Mom and Dad Klaudt continue?, only God knows… however…we stand on a promise found in Psalms 71:18 which say’s, “Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shown thy strength unto this generation and thy power to everyone that is to come”. A MESSAGE FROM BEN SPEERS Recently, I have been told that I am one of the millions who is being afflicted with Alzheimer’s Disease. Upon learning this news, Rebekah and I had to decide whether we would keep this a private matter or whether we would make this news known in a public way. After some consideration we have decided to share this with you. I intend to live the remainder of the years God gives me on this earth doing the things I have always done. I will continue to share life’s journey with my beloved Rebekah and family. I plan to enjoy many more singing schools and singings and stay in touch with my friends and supporters. Unfortunately, as Alzheimer’s Disease progresses, the family often bears a heavy burden. One my family is all too familiar with. I only wish there was some way I could spare Rebekah and the rest from this painful experience. During this time and those to come, I am confident that with your help they will face it with faith and courage. Sincerely, Ben Speer

How to “Turn It Over to God” In Christian-eze it’s been said various ways: “Give it to God.” “Turn it over to God.” “Let God do the heavy lifting.” Scripture says it this way: “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) But how do you do that? Your human heart and mind can’t help worrying, thinking, ruminating, and drumming up all the bad things that might happen. Or becoming anxious, paralyzed, or frantic about the bad things that ARE happening. Of course bad things might happen. Or are happening right now. You just got laid off from your job. Your child, your spouse, or you have just been diagnosed with a lifethreatening illness. The bill collectors are calling. You’ve been served with a lawsuit. You, your spouse, or your child has just been deployed to a war zone. False and malicious rumors have been circulated about you. Your spouse just served you with divorce papers. How could you NOT worry? The Bible is full of admonishments to “fear not.” Isaiah: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) David: “Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” (Psalm 43:5) Jesus: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? … Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” (Luke 6:25-27)
Jesus: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.” (John 14:1) I will always remember a Bible story book I had as a little girl. It told the story of Jesus in the boat with His disciples during a fierce storm. (Matthew 8:23-27) Jesus awoke, stood, and rebuked the wind and the waves. And everything became still. In the story book paraphrase of verse 26 Jesus says too His disciples, “Why were you afraid? Why were you afraid when I was with you?” How can we get to the place of no fear? How can we “turn it over to God?” Let me suggest these points: Get to know Him. The more you know someone, the more you can trust them. The more we know, understand, and believe – really believe – that God is good, the more we are able to trust Him. That means spending time with Him, going through things with Him, inviting Him into your life over and over again, and seeing how He walks with you through the tough stuff. “Tell it to Jesus.” The disciples cried out to Jesus when they were afraid. When He was here on Earth all who came to Jesus asking to be healed were healed. Elijah, David, Paul, and many others knew what it was like to talk to God about their problems, openly, and with emotion. He still hears us when we cry to Him today. Do the next right thing. Sometimes God uses us as part of the answer to our own prayers. “Turning it over to God” does not mean we stop taking action. That might mean following your doctor’s treatment plan if you’re sick, or creating a new business if you’re out of a job, or going to marriage counseling if your relationship is in trouble. Keep doing what is in your power to do. Take the eternal view. Our lives here are full of trouble. Remembering heaven and eternity should help us keep the present in perspective. Yes, we hurt and cry and mourn here. But we also know the end of the story. Hope and joy and perseverance are possible when we remember the “eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18) If God asks you to not be afraid or anxious, He has provided a way for you to do so. Get to know Him. And trust Him today. And don't forget to listen to the Dr Carol Show!

The dream of Donnie Williamson was to form a group to sing classic Gospel music on a limited basis. What he wanted to do never occurred. From the group's onset their demand was overwhelming. Soon they were performing more than 100 dates a year. For the past several years The Williamsons have been in full time Christian ministry and entertainment and have traveled across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Their music has been in national charts and they were honored to be nominated by the Gospel Music Association for a Dove Award. Their high energy musical style appeals to people of all ages. The versatility of The Williamsons is evident through the wide variety of musical styles they perform. There is always something for everyone. The marketing of their performances targets families and not just fans of any particular type of music. Spending an evening with The Williamsons is sure to be one that will lift you up, bless you, and entertain you all at the same time. Their primary desire is to share the Gospel in such a way that those in attendance who do not know Jesus Christ will come to know him before the program is over.
The Cross During a study just the other day, a thought came into my mind that would not go away. It consumed me for the rest of the evening and has not left my mind, "What does the Cross mean to you". This is just not a thought anymore, it was God's spirit telling me to take all my studies back to the cross. We go through our lives, a life devoted to Righteous living and trying to walk the narrow road that leads to blessing and a closer fellowship with Christ, Yet I believe that we have settled in our minds that the cross is a piece of history that our faith is founded on. A piece of nice jewelry or just a symbol of our faith. I believe it is time to get back to the beginning and ask ourselves "What does the cross mean to you"? 1 Cor 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But before the resurrection we had the cross. The resurrection broke the chains of death, hell and the grave and has completed the sacrifice for sin, But first was the cross. It seems as though the cross has gotten lost in history. We allow our Doctrines and our fellowship to enter the for front of our discussion, yet the world seems to understand the Cross better that believers. We see it as a symbol of something past. The world sees it so powerful that they blaspheme and despise yet the church and even me forget sometimes what the cross truly means today. "What does the cross mean to me"? I don't know if I will have enough days on this earth to fully grasp the significance of this question, yet it seems as the Holy Spirit wants my answer as it has now become the focal point of my every thought and study.
Romans 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Yes it is an emblem of suffering not for just the woman that saw her son, or the disciple's that were present watching their Rabi suffer, or the thieves that hung with him that day. If we were to look back at the day that the lord called your name and you heeded his call, you and I at that moment stood as a witness to that day. You and me felt the heaviness of our sin, the sting of death that was facing us at that very moment, just like all of those other witnesses on that day. Yes in our hearts and minds we were there. We were there watching him die on that cross that day. Romans 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. The reminder that we are free, the Cross, the choice of a savior that if he willed he could have walked away from the suffering. He could have avoided the Cross and walked into history as just another prophet. He could have ended up just another symbol in the faith of man kind. But, 'What does the cross mean to you"? As my journey has just started in trying to answer this for myself I am reminded that just as Thomas we allow our minds to doubt what the cross truly means. The scars are still there, the holes in the hands and feet, the opening in his side, they are all still there. The difference in today from back then? The scars remain today just as back then to remind us once and for all that The cross that was made for that man that day was only the beginning. Many thought back then as do today that the cross was the ending, but those scars, those scars that he showed Thomas He will one day show me and because of the cross I will hear him ask as he shows me those hands, "What does the cross mean to you? Take a moment after reading this, and ask yourself, what does the cross really mean to you. If you were to be asked that question today, and the one asking the question was the one who holds those scars, what would you say?

GOD LOVES TO HEAR OUR VOICE The other night while I rested peacefully in bed The Lord spoke to my spirit and this is what he said I just want to tell you how much it means to me For you to say you love me though my face you cannot see For many years I've watched you struggle day by day And wonder if I hear you everytime you pray There are many people who ask for lavish things Some want a fancy car or house some want a gem filled ring Of course it is my pleasure to grant their heart's desire But how much it would mean to me if they hungered for my fire You know sometimes I do get tired and it makes me really sad To hear my children question me when things in life go bad How I long to hear them say thank you for all you've done Thank you for your faithfulness and for every victory won I know you've come a long way from where you used to be That has become more evident in the time you spend with me When I hear you praise my name it makes my heart rejoice So please talk to me everyday I love to hear your voice @ Joye Atkinson
A Story of Abuse
As many of you know over the past months I've written articles on spousal abuse. Today I want to tell you a story. It's a story about abuse that happened almost two thousand years ago. The story is The Abuse of Jesus. It's hard to imagine the shame, humiliation and physical abuse Jesus suffered before he even hung on the cross. Even before Jesus appeared before Caiaphas he is mocked and ridiculed. The story begins at about 6:00am. Jesus has been brought to Caiaphas who is the Jewish high priest. As he stands there a soldier strikes Jesus across the face for not answering a question asked by Caiaphas. Jesus is blindfolded by the guards and is mocked, struck in the face and His beard is pulled out. They spit on Him, which was the lowest form of disgrace to a person at that time. Standing before Caiaphas Jesus endures shame, disgrace and pain at the hands of the soldiers. This abuse, however, was mild compared to what was yet to come. It's early in the morning, about 7:00am, and Jesus is bruised, battered, dehydrated and exhausted. Caiaphas orders Jesus to be taken Pilate, who is the Roman Governor. Pilate sends Jesus to Herod, who returns Him to Pilate. It's now about 8:00am and Pilate announces the he can find no fault in Jesus. Now there was a custom during Passover where one of the prisoners could be released. Pilate gave the crowd a choice between Jesus and Barabbas, who was a criminal. The crowd wanted Jesus crucified so Pilate released Barabbas. It's now about 9:00am and Pilate condemns Jesus to death. He orders Jesus to be beaten and crucified. The soldiers lead Jesus to a common hall where he is stripped of his clothing. His hands are tied to a post above his head. The flesh of His shoulders and back are
exposed and stretched tight. Now flogging is a normal practice before crucifixion. The Jews only allowed 40 lashes to be given, however the Romans had no such limit. All that mattered to them was that the victim had enough strength to carry his own cross. A Roman soldier steps up with a cat of nine tails. The Romans referred to it as a flagrum. A flagrum is a whip made up of 2 to 3 leather straps, each containing small lead balls embedded with bits of stones, bones, metal or glass near the ends. The heavy whip comes down with full force striking Jesus' bare shoulders and back over and over again. At first the straps only cut through the skin. Then each blow cuts deeper causing the veins of the skin to bleed. Then the blood vessels are broken open and they begin to bleed. The small balls of lead causes deep bruises which open up from the continuous blows. Soon all you can see is a mass of bloody tissue. The whip has wrapped around Jesus' body and the stone and glass dig into the front and sides of Jesus. The whip is quickly pulled back violently ripping the flesh from His body. Jesus is finally untied and he falls to the stone pavement. The beating has left him bloody and weak and near the point of death. The Roman Soldiers continue to humiliate Jesus. They throw a robe across his shoulders and place a stick in his hand for a scepter. They make a crown from branches filled with thrones and press it into his head. Blood runs down his face and into his eyes. They tear the robe from His back. It sticks to the bloody wounds Jesus received from the beating. The tearing away of the robe reopens the wounds and more flesh tears from His body. The pain is excruciating.
more flesh tears from His body. The pain is excruciating. It's about 12:00 in the afternoon and the cross is placed on Jesus' shoulders and he begins the trip to Golgotha. It takes every effort Jesus has to walk upright. With the weight of the cross and the loss of blood Jesus can barely stand. Each time he falls the cross gouges into into the broken skin and muscles. Splinters go deep into the skin. Jesus falls again and He's unable to get back up. A man named Simeon of Cyrene carries Jesus' cross the rest of the way. They finally reach Golgotha. The soldiers roughly throw Jesus backwards onto the cross. They stretch His arms out and heavy iron nails about 7 to 9 inches long are hammered into His hands. His feet are put together and they are also nailed to the cross, His knees slightly bent. They lift the cross and drop it into a hole in the ground, inflicting more pain. Even as Jesus hangs on the cross He is mocked and ridiculed. A sign is hung over His head that reads Jesus King of the Jews'. Jesus has been hung between two thieves. One who blasphemes and mocks Him. The weight of Jesus' body is causing Him to sag down and causing him extreme pain in His hands. Each breath is hard and painful. Jesus however has manged to get enough air to speak. As He looks down He sees the soldiers casting lots or dice for his garments. He ask His Father to forgive them because they don't know what they're doing. (Luke 23:24) He speaks to the thief on the cross who ask that Jesus to remember him. Jesus tells him that today you will be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:42-43) Jesus speaks to His mother. He tells her to behold her son. He then speaks to John the, Beloved Apostle, telling him to behold his mother. (John 19:26-27) Jesus speaks to His Father asking Him why had he forsaken Him. (Psalm 22:1, Matthew 27-46) The hours pass and the pain continues to intensify. Jesus says He thirsty. The soldiers soak a sponge with vinegar and wine and lift it to His lips and Jesus drinks. (John 19:28) Jesus begins to feel his life slipping away. He knows his death is at hand. Jesus speaks and simply says “It is finished.” (John 19:30) Jesus has almost completed His mission. The mission of atonement. He finally lets death come. With one last effort of strength Jesus looks up to Heaven and tells His Father “into your hands I commit my spirit.” (Luke 23:46) Jesus has spoken his final words. It's about 3:00pm and Jesus has died. Now Jesus crucifixion took place on the sabbath and it was against Jewish law for a person to hang on the cross during the sabbath. The Romans soldiers came and broke the legs of those being crucified, bringing death much quicker. They come to Jesus, who has already died, and the soldier takes a spear and drives it into Jesus' side. Immediately blood and water come from the wound. (John 19:34)
After His death Jesus is placed in a borrowed tomb. Three days later that tomb was empty for Jesus had risen from the grave. Jesus knew He would have to endure a savage brutal beating at the hands of the Romans. He accepted each blow and His body being torn open for us. Jesus willing took the abuse and punishment of the sins of the world so we don't have to suffer the consequences of our sins. With every lash of the whip He bore our sins. Isaiah tell us in Isaiah 53:5 that Jesus was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities and by His stripes we are healed. God sent His only Son and let Him endure pain and death so we can know real life, eternal life. (John 3:16) You may ask why did Jesus accept and suffer such pain and abuse. He did it to make us whole. He was broken down so we could be raised up. He was slain so we could have eternal life. Every step Jesus made from the cradle led to the cross. Every step He made he made for you and me. If you haven't made that step toward Jesus, today is the day to do so. Paul tells us in Romans 6:23”The wages of death is sin but the gift of God is eternal life.” I John 1:9 says “If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. As we celebrate Easter let's remember it's now about the Easter eggs, the Easter bunny or the new outfit. Easter is about the immense love God has for us. Easter is about Jesus giving His life for mine and for yours. There's a song I love called His Life for Mine. Read the words and think about all that Jesus did for us. His heart was broken mine was mended, He became sin now I am clean, The Cross He carried bore my burden The nails that held Him set me free His scars of suffering brought me healing, He spilled His blood to fill my soul, His crown of thorns made me royalty, His sorrow gave me joy untold. He was despised and rejected Stripped of His garment and oppressed I am loved and excepted And I wear a robe of righteousness His Life for Mine, His Life for Mine, How could it ever be? That He would die, God's Son would die, To save a wretch like me, - Like me What love divine, He gave His life for Mine - For Mine May God bless you and your family this Easter.

“One Look To His Left” As Easter approaches and we get ready to celebrate, let’s not concentrate on the candy and the Easter Bunny. We must look into the real meaning of Easter and that is the death of our Savior Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the Cross of Calvary. One of the most wonderful songs I have heard over the years was by one of my favorite Southern Gospel Groups “The Down East Boys” entitled “One Look To His Left” Jesus was nailed to the cross between two thieves, the one to his right told Jesus to save himself, the one to his left asked Jesus to remember him when He gets to His fathers kingdom. Jesus said today you shall be with me in Paradise. One look to His left and all is forgiven, one look to His left set us free, One simple glance gave a sinner a chance. Just that one simple request from the thief, saved his soul for all eternity, and he would spend it in eternity in heaven. Jesus went to the cross for that reason, so that we could enter heaven as long as we made the one simple leap of faith. That is to ask God to forgive us of our sins, and ask Him to come into our hearts and dwell within all the days of our lives. When we do that a transformation happens, our old lives are washed as white as snow, and we become a new creation in Christ. Does it mean our lives all of a sudden become easy? No it doesn't and God never promised that it would, but He promised He would never leave us nor forsake us. When times get hard and we call on His name He will be with us every time we call him. He is only a whisper away. Every lashing Jesus took, every bad thing said about him, every drop of blood, the nails, and the cross, Was all done for us. He gave his life for you and for me, so when we leave this world we will reunite with Him in Heaven. When Jesus rose from the grave on that third day, that was His final statement, showing us that He himself beat death, and conquered the grave. Letting us know that He will one day return for us and that if we accept Him and follow His teachings
we too can conquer the grave and have eternal life. What a wonderful thought that one day we will be reunited with our Lord and Savior and be with Him forever. So as you celebrate Easter this year, remember the true reason we celebrate this time of year. It’s the death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you have not asked God to come into your heart yet please take a moment and say this prayer. “Lord I ask that you forgive me for my sins, cover me as white as snow and make me a new creation in you. I ask that you come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior all the days of my life, and I will serve you until I take my last breath. In your name I pray AMEN!” If you said that prayer I would love to hear about your decision to accept Jesus into your heart. Send me an email with your prayer request, comments and thought to countrydrivingphotography@yahoo.com Luke 24 6-7 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee 7 'The Son of Man2 must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.”

The last couple of weeks I have been counseling a woman who has serious issues concerning her only child. Her issues run deep and neither one are willing to sit down and talk, let alone listen to each other because it always ends up in another argument .Above all, they can't forgive . This sounds so much like many families I have heard from though out my years of counseling. All boils down to same thing. No one is willing to talk, listen and forgive. Got me to pondering about my own self many years ago. The anger resentment and hurt I felt against my mother. Neither one of us could sit down and talk. All we did was scream and yell at one another instead of resolving the issues. Finally in my 50s we sat down and talked . We both willingly opened up to each other telling our side to our feelings and we listened quietly to what each of us had to say. It was like a huge weight coming off of my shoulders for now finally I understood her side completely and she understood mine.. If only I could have known and understood years before. Things could have been different between my mom and I. It didnt mean the past magically disappear nor was it forgotten either but we forgave each other readily and peace had finally come for both of us..We now have a loving mother and daughter relationship. Now when I think of the past there is no more pain and hurt from it. Its all gone . From that day forward we became not only mother and daughter , we became best friends as well. We lost a lot of years when it doesn't have to be that way for other families. All it takes is a willingness to sit, talk, listen and forgive . God granted me a chance to do that and I thank Him so much for doing so before it was too late because I have heard from others who wish they had of taken the steps but didn't and lost their chance. They live now with deep sorrow and regrets. They allowed pride, anger and resentment to hold them back. Its not worth it trust me on that.Take the time now and above all FORGIVE. Remember God loves ya and so do I.
