HOW HOT IS YOUR FURNACE We are under attack like never before, the furnace has been turned up on this generation. The furnace in our lives are the temptations that we and others face everyday. We are being surrounded by Temptation, lust, seduction on the job, in our homes and even in our churches. Satan is on the hunt not for the ones already blinded, or the worldly, he is on the hunt for Christians. He is using the media, the internet and all the technology that has been created to get us right in our homes. All we have to do is turn on our television or sign on to our computer and see it without looking for it. Never before has the furnace been hotter. Will be bow to Satan and his temptation? What do we do when we are forced into the furnace by others? Now I know there are some who are walking in the Mountain top and not in the valley and are abiding in the cool breeze under the shade of the tree today, yet I am speaking to those who have been forced into the furnace, those who don't understand why their husband/wife has just walked out on them, the children who have lost their family unit of no fault of their own and now have to choose between mother and father because they are being used as pawns by the father and mother, The wives/husbands who have to deal with the abuse while praying for their abuser, the one that has to deal with the pressures of family and friends in making the decision to have that abortion or not. The ones who have to face the congregation of believers who look at you as the one who has caused the division in your family because there is no way that your "exhusband or wife" could have been at fault," no not that Christian person". Sometimes we make choices that place us in the furnace, James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
We are faced with temptation everyday and the furnace is being heated up hotter when we choose to stay holy and keep our temple clean. Turning away from temptation will increase the heat. Look at this: 1 Cor 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. Then there are times when we are forced into the furnace. Joseph showed us that when we are forced into the furnace because of the choices of others, we can still be faithful and push through Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Whether our choices have placed us in the furnace or others have forced us into the furnace we must be reminded That this story has already been told. Yes the three Hebrew children who would not bend or bow and were cast into the furnace. As if the furnace was not hot enough to kill them, it was turned up seven times hotter. Make no mistake, sometimes we make choices and step into the furnace, while at other times we are forced into the furnace by others. So what do we do when we find ourselves in the furnace and the heat is being turned up? Daniel 3:17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up Now here is the shouting moment for all of us who are in the furnace, yes the heat is turned up and you are facing depression, cannot sleep, are feeling lonely, abused and you feel there is no hope because the furnace has been turned up. Wait, If you are in the furnace, look around, you are not alone, there is a forth man waking around in there with you. He has not forsaken you nor has he left you, we have been delivered from the furnace by the forth man in the flames and he was, is and always will be my deliverer. Watch as not only do we know who our delver is, but the ones who force us into the furnace will know who that fourth man is: Daniel 3:24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. 25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God When in the furnace, remember to look around, you are not alone, there is a forth man in the fire and he alone is our deliverer. And everyone says…”There will never be another Kenny Hinson” Some of the most profound words ever spoken. No greater voice will ever grace the stage of a concert building or the pulpit at a church, than Kenny Hinson of The Hinsons. He was a “stylist “ in his own rights as to his performance, commanding of the stage as he sang. So anointed and sincere was Kenny Hinson. Few people know not only could Kenny sing, write but he could PREACH! I grew up with the Hinsons around the Salinas , California area. Kenny and I both were just teenagers. We attended the same church, The Tabernacle, with Pastor Hubbard. We sang in the same church choir ...with the rest of the Hinsons. What a time it was with all the talent in that church! I sang for years with a group called The Spiritualaires and we were on the Calvary Records contract with other artists. We would travel all over California in the Calvary Concert tours., with The Hinsons and other groups. What wonderful memories that I have of those days. I was so privileged to visit with all the Hinsons just a short time before Kenny past away. We all went to church together in the Nashville area that Sunday, then we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. I am so glad that I flew there and spent time with all The Hinsons and with Kenny! I will share some of my personal photos from that day…. KENNY YOU ARE GONE BUT YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. YOU TOUCHED THE LIVES OF MANY IN YOUR SHORT TIME ON EARTH, MANY TODAY COPY YOUR STYLE...BUT THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER KENNY HINSON!

Such a refreshing time to sit and visit the Rob Mills Family at dinner and sitting in their coach. I also, had the honor of being in a church service with them in Michigan just a few short weeks ago. What a blessing this family was! The main group to sing is made up of the two sons and their dad, Rob. Then, their mom will join them in a couple of the songs. This family harmony is second to none and they play several instruments each. All night, they will bring you a concert that you will not easily forget. It is a refreshing sound. They will bring you the good ole Christian Bluegrass with songs that Rob himself has written, they will then turn and sing some Southern Gospel and Classic Traditional Songs. I will say to you, that if you have the opportunity to hear the Rob Mills Family...go! Your heart will be blessed and you will enjoy meeting and talking with the sensationally talented family. I will also encourage to get them in your area, they are a full time ministry and you will not be disappointed! . Ruthie Gainey Owner/Editor Southern Gospel Magazine In June 2011, a music ministry was born known as Rob Mills Family. It consists of Rob and his wife Angie along with their two sons Levi (17), Jacob (16), and their daughter Emily (14). They have close family harmonies and they play multiple instruments. It is a full time ministry established for the sole purpose of spreading the gospel and seeing the lost come to Christ. They love to entertain and hopefully allow folks to forget about their troubles, if only for just a little while. You may have seen them on YouTube where they currently have more than 1.6 million views with their song, Through The Decades. They have been privileged to witness countless numbers of people surrender their lives to Christ. Rob is a song writer and has had his songs recorded by some of southern gospels top artists like Gold City, Mark Trammel Quartet, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Mercy's Mark and more. Rob also served in the local church as a worship pastor for 16 years. During that time he built and lead a 60 voice choir. "We adopted our music style from great choir leaders such as Bill Gaither and Mike Speck, says Rob. These men were very influential to me and in the type of worship and music that we did." Rob was able to take his choir and sing backup for Reba McIntyre at the Palace of Auburn Hills and The Judd's at DTE Energy Music Theater, both in Michigan. By age nine, Jacob was playing bass and ten year old Levi played drums for Rob and his worship band along with Robs good friend and former piano player for The Hoppers, Steve Keen. This taught the boys the value of stage presence and experience in working together towards excellence. Now, along with their church and concert
schedule, Rob Mills Family are finding themselves leading worship for various Campmeetings, conferences and conventions across the country. Rob Mills Family also partners with a ministry called CMI Concert Ministries where they are part of a large scale Christmas program that has a community choir and cast of 250 people . They do 7 major Christmas shows in Michigan led by Thurlow Spurr and 4 shows in St. Louis, MO led by Bob Pickett. "This is an incredible Christmas show, says Rob, and we are blessed to be part of it. I would highly encourage folks to make plans to join us for one of these events." Tickets can be purchased by going to cmichoir.org. You will want to be sure and see them when they come to your area. Until then, take a moment and look them up on you tube and share their videos with your friends and family. Also, you can find their schedule by going to robmillsfamily.com

Nationally known and multi-award winning Gospel artist, The Freemans bus caught fire in Canada about 30 minutes after leaving a show on their last Canadian Tour Date late Sunday evening as they were headed back home to Hendersonville. Caylon Freeman, drummer for the band saw smoke in the bunk area of the bus and went for the fire extinguisher. The driver was able to pull over immediately where everyone exited the bus. Witnesses say it appeared to be an electrical fire which was isolated to the bunk areas. The fire was contained and they were able to travel the rest of the way home with the power cut off to that area of the bus. There were three other people on the bus at the time the fire started which included singers Chris, Darrell and Joe Freeman. Chris Freeman stated, "We are so grateful to have been on the bus at the time and were able to take immediate action. We had just fueled the bus and were headed home. If we had been away from the bus it could have been a very different story. We thank God for his protection over us. If you would like to interview The Freemans contact AG Publicity at info@agpublicity.com . About The Freemans History, experience and spiritual wisdom are three attributes that can be used to describe the foundation of the Freeman ministry. Deeply rooted with family, the Freemans experience spans 30+ years. From Darrell’s entrance at age 16 with his family’s group, the Pathways, to Chris’s award-winning teenage years with the Hinsons, the Freemans know the ins and outs of Southern Gospel music. No doubt, Chris’s unique sound is the reason she was the youngest female artist ever to receive the coveted "Queen of Gospel Music” award two years in a row (’76, ’77) as voted by the readers of Singing News Magazine. In 1980, the lives of Darrel and Chris Freeman became one when they married on August 2nd. After singing with the Pathways for three years Darrell and Chris headed for Nashville and began the Freemans. Joe Freeman, Darrell’s cousin, soon joined. them as the third part harmony, as well as their keyboard player. With this sound they have garnered tremendous growth and success. In 1997, Darrell and Chris’s daughter, Misty, began playing acoustic guitar with the group on stage. Then in 1998, she began singing with them when they recorded Standing Out. Also on stage is Caylon Freeman, Darrell and Chris’s youngest child. He decided to join his family on the road full-time in 2002. He is now playing the drums and singing some with the group. Now in their 20th year, the Freemans, still do approximately 250 dates a year, and continue to experience tremendous success.

Welcome to the Porch, Grab a nice cold glass of sweet tea or a nice warm cup of coffee and let’s chat. First, let’s say a short prayer asking God to open our ears and our hearts. Father, we come to you now asking that you will use these words in such a way that hearts will be blessed and open to you. Father, all we do we do for you. Each of us humbled, by your love and mercies every day. Amen he purpose of this article is to help someone out in whatever way I can. My heart is to see many brought to or back to the saving grace of Jesus. So, with that said, I am changing the direction of this article. For the past several months I have given you more of a devotional type article. I feel that I am being directed to move more into this article being based on scripture and what it is saying. I am new to this, but, with Gods help I will make it. I want to help each of you become a better disciple of Jesus. If you will follow along on my website www.brianmaceministries.com. I plan on going through a series of question that has been put together by a man that has taught many to become better disciples of Jesus. I will help you and we can learn together and become better disciples for Jesus. I am currently going through this myself. But, this month, this is what’s on my heart. We live in a world of hate. It doesn’t matter who you are, what your beliefs, what your race, sex or age. You are hated by someone. It appears that Christians are #1
on the hit list. Why do you think this is? Well, I think it is because we have Jesus. Jesus is the accountability factor. You can be a part of a “religion” and you will probably be accepted. Most people feel or believe that there is a higher power. But none of these have the Jesus factor. It is Jesus that separates us from the pack. Religion is just a term that peoples use to justify their CHOICES. Religion, too many, is no more name over their church door. Being a member of a church or going to church on Easter and Christmas. Being a Christian isn’t about “RELIGION” it is about “RELATIONSHIP” a covenant if you will, with Jesus. Jesus instructs us to love, In 1 John 4:11 11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. Then in 1 John 4:21 (we see this is a commandment) 21 and this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. I find these scriptures Luke 6:27-28 enormously fitting for the times we are in. Folks, we now live in a world that is being devoured in hate and evil. Where right is wrong and wrong is right, history being erased because it offends someone. But what about offends the Christian. Truthfully this doesn’t matter. Hate is such an easy action to express; it is the nature of man. Hatred and sin come so easy, love and forgiveness on the other hand, that takes work. With the rights of Christian being taken away and as it seems, all that we do and stand for is now considered as hatred, When Jesus told us this: (if I may let’s break this down as we read) 27 “But (anytime you see a scripture start with this it means STOP and pay close attention something big is about to be said) I say to you who hear, (this means to take into your heart and put into action) Love (set aside your personal feeling) your enemies,(those who hate you, even possibly wish to cause you harm) do good (be a servant) to those who hate you,(show love and expect nothing in return) 28bless those who curse you,(don’t think or wish bad actions on those who slander you or put you down) pray for those who abuse you.(spend time talking with Jesus about your enemies).
Please read verses 29-34. I won’t go into the breakdown of these at this time. 29To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. 30Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. 31And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. 32 “If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount.
The last couple of verses put thing into perspective, I think, even sinners can do good thing but they expect the same in return. This is what makes us, Christians, different, separates us. The Bible tells us to be a peculiar people, stand out in the crowd. We should have the heart of Jesus and do good for all mankind not because we think it will gain us something. But because we want to show real love, the love of Jesus to all. By us showing love it is our hope that it will help lead them to Jesus and His salvation. Bottom line is this, we can all sit in our easy chairs watching TV or sit at our computer on Facebook casting out hate. Don’t miss read this, I think that there are many evil people in this world doing the work of satan, attempting to destroy the foundation of our society. The Bible tells us that satan comes to seek out, devour, kill and destroy. And for their crimes they should be punished. If all we do is cast hate then where will we be? We will be right where we are. There are Killings, riots, children being used for sex, Christians being beheaded simply because we believe in Jesus. Love knows no boundaries, no race, no creed and no “religion”. Love is the universal gift that we all can share. I think this is why God gave it to us. Love is love no matter what language you speak or where you are from. It is the one thing that can be shared by all. So, instead of making that Facebook post or sharing pictures of evil and hate about how much you hate someone or dislike their way. Send a message of love; let them know that you are praying for them. You may not see the tree grow but you have planted the seed. You might just change the world. Till next time Thanks for joining me on the porch Brian

WHATEVER THE ROAD, RELEASING SEPTEMBER 18, 2015 GRAMMY® winner and 21-time Dove Award winning artist Jason Crabb was recently honored with a street name, “Jason Crabb Drive,” in his hometown of Beaver Dam, KY. This past weekend during a hometown show at the new, state-of-theart Beaver Dam Amphitheater, the city surprised and honored Crabb with the street sign for the road entering the Amphitheater. ”We were thrilled to have Jason come home for this concert,” shared Mayor Paul Sandefur. “We were even more thrilled to show him how proud we are of him and his work by naming the street into Beaver Dam’s new amphitheater after Jason, Jason Crabb Drive!” Sandefur, along with City Commissioners Charles Patton, Kevin Davis and Sandy Robinson, presented him with the honor. Jason Crabb was performing in his hometown for the first time since he had laid his beloved Grandmother to rest earlier this year so it was an emotional homecoming. “I can’t even begin to tell you how shocked and humbled I am,” shared Crabb with his fans on Facebook. “I wish my Grandma and Grandfather could be here. I’m so proud to be from Beaver Dam. I can’t believe this!” The Beaver Dam Amphitheater opened this past fall and has already hosted to artists such as Merle Haggard, Newsboys, Aaron Tippin and more. The venue will host upcoming shows from Third Day in August and the Blue Moon Bluegrass Music Festival in October. This honor precedes Crabb’s upcoming new studio album, Whatever The Road, which releases on September 18th as his first album with new label home Reunion Records, a division of Provident Label Group/Sony Music. Working with producers Jason Ingram (Chris Tomlin, Tenth Avenue North, Kari Jobe), and Paul Mabury (Hillsong, Lauren Daigle, One Sonic Society), Crabb takes a bold new step forward, not just lyrically but stylistically, and has finely honed a collection of anthems for the church that have sophisticated pop sensibilities as well as deep, substantive lyrics.
“I’ve never wanted to be pigeon-holed,” states Crabb of this new musical venture. “I just wanted to make music. I finally found that if you’re part of the creative process of the song, then it becomes you. With this record, I feel like it’s a little more of who I am than what I’ve been. It’s where I want to be and it’s wonderful.” Fans can now pre-order the upcoming release through July 31 and receive a threesong sampler along with three new songs. Time to Remove the Blinders
Have you ever wondered what it would sound like if God were to write a letter to the church today? What would he say to us. Do you think it would sound like this. Dear Church, As I watch you it troubles me to see how many of you have seemed to stop caring about the things going on around you. I look and see all the violence, abuse, and hurting going on in the world and it saddens me greatly. I see churches dying and shutting their doors. I see many of my people playing church or just staying away. Some churches have become social clubs with social events and you need to remember that it is My church not yours to do as you wish. I see preachers who are afraid to preach about hell. Preachers who want to sugar coat the gospel. I hear preacher saying you go to church just to feel better. I see preachers who think numbers are the most important thing not the people. I see churches who have fallen by the way in reaching people. Churches who no longer care what goes on outside the doors of the church. I see the blinders that you wear. My children you have closed your eyes and heart to the lost and hurting of the world. I look at you and see your selfishness, your bickering, prejudices and pettiness. My children have you forgotten about kindness, compassion and faith. I'm disappointed in you when I see you being selfish or unkind to those around you. You seem to have forgotten about the commandment I gave you. To love me, the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. And you are to love your neighbor as yourself. You've not only closed your eyes to those hurting outside the church, you've closed your eyes to the hurting in the church. When your sitting in church with your blinders on you don't see that person sitting beside you.
Did you know that every 15 seconds a woman is abused by her husband. Do you realize that women beside you could be that one woman. Abuse isn't just bruises, it goes deeper. She may be emotionally or mentally abused. That child sitting beside you could be that one child that every 10 seconds is abused by someone they love. Or that one in six children who go to be hungry each night. Maybe that person beside you is hurting, lonely and not sure how to go on. But yet you don't see because you won't look to the left or the right. You look straight ahead. When you look at the world with your blinders on you look through your own selfish eyes at the outside of a person and judge them accordingly . When I look at the world I see through to their hearts and soul. Remember, “ For God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” -1 Samuel 16: 7 I see how people hurt. I see the disappointments and fears. I see your failures and successes. I see you looking for answers. I am your answer but your blinders keep you from seeing me. The problem is you keep getting in the way. You don't see your selfishness, vanities, your prejudices and lack of trust. You seem to have your own agenda rather than following mine. I hear you say that the Holy Spirit has left the church. But my child I have never left. You have hidden me from view. Don't you think it's time for me to be seen again? I am sadden that you no longer care about the lost in this world. You sit and wait for someone else to tell the world about me. You seem to sit back and say it's not my problem, I don't want to be pushy, or it's not my job. That's why we have a preacher. Church it isn't just the preacher's job to tell the world about me. It is the job of ever true believer to tell others about me. I ask today as I did years ago, whom shall I send? Will you answer as Isaiah did and say “Here am I, send me.” Remember how shall they hear about my love and saving grace if you don't go out and tell them. Church it's time to remove the blinders and open your eyes to see me as I am. In order to see through my eyes you must first see me. Then you can understand how I see you. You can look at your neighbor and fully understand what I see in each and every one. A precious soul. I took the punishment for your sins to reconcile you back to God. If you look through my eyes you will see forgiveness, compassion and love. You will see that I love you with unconditional love.
There are things I want you to remember . Remember the cross, the suffering and my crucifixion. Remember my Father's love. Always remember my words and to live by my example. My children remember you are living the new life, to go the second mile. Most of all remember to have compassion for people. Church stand faithful and glorify God and remember every word I have left for you. Most of all don't lose your focus. Remove your blinders and keep your eyes open and focused on me. I ask that you open your eyes to see me in others. Open your ears to hear the cries of the hungry, cold frightened and oppressed. Open you hearts to love each other as I love you. If you ask I will give you the words and wisdom so share me in a loving way. And above all remember to see with they eyes of God. Love Your Heavenly Father Do you live each day with blinders on? God is shaking us as a church and trying to wake us up. There is a storm coming and we need to be ready. What will it take for us to wake up and remove the blinders to see what is going on around us. There is a song Open our eyes Lord. My prayer is that Jesus would: Open my eyes Lord, I want to see Jesus To reach out and touch Him, and say that I love Him Open my eyes Lord, I want to see Jesus To reflect His image to those around us. Open my ears Lord, and help me to listen. Open my lips Lord, and help me to praise You To tell others of You and of Your great love. Open my eyes Lord, and help me to see those Who are in need of love, and help me to share Yours Open my eyes Lord, when I am discouraged And help me to find You and reach out and touch You Open my eyes Lord, and help me to see You that You're always near whenever I need You! Open my eyes Lord, when we I am blessed by you Open my lips Lord and help me to thank You. For being so awesome, may I never forget you. May God bless you each and every day with his love and grace. Debbie If you don't know Jesus as your personal Savior I urge you to seek Him today. Jesus tell us: God Loves You! For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) God has a wonderful plan for your life! I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10b) But:
Because of our sin, we are separated from God. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) The Penalty for our sin is death. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) The penalty for our sin was paid by Jesus Christ! But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) If we repent of our sin, then confess and trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be saved from our sins! For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) ...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9,10)
What's In Your Hand: Using Your God-given Talents Perhaps you’ve said “I want God to use me!” I know many believers who feel that way. Perhaps your daily life now seems quite monotonous and unimportant, and you wish that light-bulb moment would happen when you know you’re making a significant and lasting difference for His kingdom. You see others in the spotlight who God seems to be using in a big way, and you try hard to not allow envy to grow in your heart. Will you ever be able to use your God-given talents to their full potential? Whenever a lasting desire shows up in the human heart I believe it’s evidence of the way in which God made us. Those desires often become distorted or are directed in unhealthy directions, but the desire is from God. Your desire to make a difference is proof that God made you for a reason, both for this life and for eternity. You and I will never feel completely satisfied until we fulfill the purpose for which He created us. But we’re not born with everything we need to fill the role for which God made us. The seeds are there, but in order to fill a role that’s big enough to qualify as God-sized, you and I need to grow up in all kinds of ways. And the way to get there is to begin using what’s in our hands right now.
In the Bible, Moses had spent forty years being educated in Pharaoh’s court, and another forty years on the back-side of the desert herding sheep. When God appeared to Him in the burning bush Moses felt ignored, beaten down, old, and anything but ready for some significant role in God’s plan. But God would hear none of His excuses. When Moses complained that the leaders of Israel would not believe his incredible story of hearing directly from God, God asked him, “What’s in your hand?” All Moses had was a shepherd’s staff, and God immediately demonstrated His miraculous power using that staff. (Exodus 4:1-5) It was with that very staff that God through Moses would later part the Red Sea, bring water out of a rock, and bring the Israelites victory over their foes in battle. You have something in your hand right now as well. It may seem no more impressive than a shepherd’s staff, but it may be just the thing God needs to use in accomplishing His purpose. Seeing What’s In Your Hand We may think of “God-given talents” as natural abilities in areas such as music, business, writing, or speaking. That may be true, but it’s only one part of the equation. What about these other things that may be in your hand? Early Life Experiences. Moses learned how to lead large numbers of people during his training as Pharaoh’s adopted grandson. You may have learned how to understand people from different cultures, make people laugh, tell stories, overcome opposition, respond to circumstances with flexibility or courage, or any number of beneficial life lessons. Character traits. A certain degree of emotional and spiritual maturity makes you so much more useful to God. You may right now be developing character traits such as patience, courage, kindness, ability to forgive, paying attention to detail, unselfishness, wisdom, flexibility, integrity, endurance, and love.
Personal relationships and connections. People provide a laboratory in which to learn important skills and develop character. How you treat those closest to you is an important measure of character. It may also be that someone you know becomes the key to opening the door to another stage in God’s purpose for you. People are part of what’s in your hand. Knowledge and understanding. Education comes in many forms, and all of it may be part of preparing you for God’s purpose. Daniel’s education in the ways of the Babylonians allowed him to be in government when God needed him. David’s years as a shepherd taught him lessons he would need as king. Everything you learn becomes something in your hand that God can use. Tangible or intangible goods. This certainly includes money, but it also includes the ability to create money. It includes where you live and any possessions you have. It includes information contained in books, music, art, even software or any other creative endeavors you may have “played” with over the years as the dreams God planted in you have slowly germinated. Skills and talents. This is what we usually think of when we talk about what God needs from us, and it is important. But remember it’s just one part of the equation. Your skills need to be developed and matured, and they need to be backed up by a mature character and a certain degree of people skills in order to be useful in God’s kingdom. What’s in your hand right now? Who is in your sphere of influence that you can “practice” on? What steps can you take to broaden and deepen your knowledge and understanding in some area? What part of your character needs attention and growth? How can you take the skills, relationships, or any other assets you have and make them available for God’s service? Begin with what you have. Jesus promised that if you do, you’ll end up with even more. (Matthew 13:12) What’s in your hand? There’s something in your hand right now that God wants and needs to use in His kingdom. Tweet that. Your Turn: Name something in your hand - an experience, skill, knowledge, relationship, or character trait - that you can take right now and put into God's service. . July Article by Dot A Wiggins, Organizing yourself brings or- 2015 der to any circumstance. . Organizing Yourself Brings Order To Any Circumstance by Dot A Wiggins As with many goals in life, Organizing has challenges, obstacles and difficulties that make it harder but cannot prevent a dedicated and committed person from achieving it. When working with clients and even personally executing my own tasks I discover many challenges and obstacles that must be overcome to successfully organize things and the space. Since organizing is a personal and very subjective ideal, I like to write down a few statements about what the actual goals are to feel things are organized. Writing things down gives you something to refer to and use to track progress or troubleshoot issues. Prioritizing them and writing conditions that will make the person happy gives us a clear goal to work on. Sample of this would look like: Owner of items and space: Dot REQUIRES: Things must be easily accessible quickly, Everything has to be easily found and returned to the same space by someone with verbal instructions (Please bring me the pink file box from the top shelf). Must be able to visually see labels and commonly used items, but they must be attractively placed and complement the dĂŠcor for hubby to be happy. Supplies have to be maintained so I have things on hand. (Keep Inventory list & packing list gets marked if something is used up or needs to be replenished. Space to work with. My stuff gets moved around based on my tasks. Crafts are made easy to mobilized supplies into the dining room but have to be moved at dinner time. Storage is in the office, closet or on a temporary table I setup. Currently working files and paperwork is located on my desk in the living room or Cart I use as a standing desk and mobile storage/workspace. Then we discuss the Challenges/ “Excusesâ€? the organization does not stay. Looking for the violations of our rules: #! Rule, everything has a place and must be put in that
place, every time. #2 Out of space, must reduce #3 when things are out of order, must STOP and fix it! We write out these too: Then we plan to overcome these. Scheduling time in the phone calendar or paper calendar and T0-do list to make things stay in order. Even the diligent and committed slip and fall dependent on others to maintain THEIR organization and placement of things, Packing for the next day or upcoming trip/ activity. However, properly insuring our own things are prepared and organized the way we need them to be to accomplish OUR goals and complete our tasks. Planning, Scheduling and evaluating our work habits will highlight changes that need to be made to allow us to pack and place our stuff ourselves or to ensure it gets down as we tell the person to do. Writing instructions, lists and checking saves hours of frustration and lost productivity when something is not done correctly or things are not where they are needed. Packing in reverse order saves time in the evaluation and setting up too. When you plan, make your lists based on the end result. Packing for the next day or a trip, pack your multiple items together and place them in the suitcase so the first thing you will need is on top. The music was not always gospel. You will quickly learn of his love for jazz, blues, country and even some pop. But it is his love of gospel music that impacts his audiences today.
