QUOTE OF THE MONTH FROM SUSIE HINSON WEANT

Judgmental thoughts come from a negative mindset. A mind that thinks about what's wrong with people instead of what is right.

(Hendersonville, TN – January 20, 2015) The Jim Brady Trio will celebrate the release of its debut project with Daywind Records at a CD release party to be held on Tuesday, Jan. 27. The group will hold the invitation-only event that afternoon – which is the actual release date of “A New Chapter” – at Bridgestone Arena’s SiriusXM Music City Theater, which is located in Nashville, Tenn. “We were so blessed to work with the late Lari Goss on our first project as the Jim Brady Trio,” Jim Brady explains. “Everyone has been so gracious to us as a new artist, especially the Booth Brothers (the award-winning trio that Jim was a member of for the last 13 years). We have spent so much time writing, and we have logged diligent hours in the studio recording, rehearsing and then rehearsing some more. We’re excited for people to experience what we feel when we sing these songs. The love and support that we have already received from friends and fans has been overwhelming.” The trio – which consists of Jim Brady, his wife Melissa and former Legacy Five pianist Tim Parton – performed its first official concert on Jan. 1 at Legacy Five’s New Year’s Eve Celebration event. The group also made its national television debut earlier this month on the Music City Show. Parton and Jim Brady co-produced the 12-song project, and Jim Brady wrote or co -wrote six of those songs, two of which were composed along with Melissa Brady. Melissa also penned a song with Sue C. Smith, one of the notable songwriters on the project along with Eddie Crook, Phil Cross, Rodney Griffin, Squire Parsons, Randy Phillips, Barry Weeks, Aaron Wilburn and Tony Wood. “In our industry, it’s not often that a newly-formed group creates the amount of buzz that has already surrounded the Jim Brady Trio,” Daywind president Ed Leonard shares. “Jim, Melissa and Tim are not only well-respected, proven artists, but they’re equally thought of as high-character individuals. They have poured their hearts into this debut release, and we’re all excited to see the response that it generates.”

Vanessa Feltner…. pianist, vocalist and songwriter was raised in a Christian home singing gospel music with her father: Dove Award nominee, Charles Feltner. Her father, a prominent songwriter was known for his writing abilities for songs such as his number 1 charting song “I’ll See You In The Rapture” recorded by The Kingsmen, Jerry and The Goffs, The Thrasher Brothers, The Booth Brothers, The Hoppers and many others. He was also known for, “I’ll Never Be The Same Anymore” which was recorded by, “The Happy Goodmans and The Cooks. At an early age, he taught Vanessa the art of singing and writing commercial songs. In her teens Vanessa joined her father in his group: The Southern Aires Quartet which he had founded nearly twenty years before at that time. They primarily toured the Midwest performing at many concerts with Southern Gospel legends such as the Happy Goodmans. It was there she developed her abilities as a singer and songwriter and began to gain national recognition from the the Southern Gospel music industry. During that time the Dixie Melody Boys had recorded many of Vanessa’s father’s songs including: “I Feel Better”, “His Amazing Grace” and “I Love The Precious Name of Jesus.” In 1980 The Dixie Melody Boys released a 45 single of Vanessa’s song, “I’ll Always Love Gospel Music” along with her father’s song, “All You Need Is Just A Touch”. The Dixie Melody Boys followed with recording another song written by Vanessa called, “I’ll Keep Holding On”. The Florida Boys also recorded, “I’ll Keep Holding On and followed with another song written by Vanessa, “Jesus I Want To Thank You. In 1990 Vanessa was contracted as a pianist vocalist to perform at 5 star hotels throughout Asia, Europe and the Middle East. During that time she continued to compose over the years for many projects including songs for Indonesia’s government social campaigns addressing the countries extreme poverty, drugs and family issues. Vanessa was asked to perform those songs for a government function where many of Indonesia, Vanessa performed for Indonesia’s president: President Wahid and Vice President Megawati and later she performed for then President Megawati. Vanessa performed her originals songs written for their country such as: “A Mother’s Prayer”, “Oh How The Angels Must Have Cried” and “A Spirit To Serve”.

During her three years living in Korea, Vanessa taught piano and English to President Kim Dae Jun’s private secretary’s daughters releasing a CD single with the children’s song she wrote for them, “Sophia and Jean” and a humanitarian song called, “Free The Children” addressing the poverty and extreme conditions of many children all over the world. Vanessa performed at government sponsored concerts including a televised concert with many thousands in attendance. During her time in Seoul, Vanessa was reading the newspaper one day and saw a photo of an elderly woman in North Korea being reunited with her mother from South Korea after so many years of separation. The anguish in her face brought tears to Vanessa’s eyes and she wrote a song for them called, “How I Love This Great Land” addressing the reunification of the North and the South telling this woman’s story how she imagined she must have felt.. Vanessa was largely influenced by her love for the countries where she performed them. While residing in Japan for five years Vanessa wrote many songs such about them such as the earthquake in Kobe Japan, their beautiful city of Kushiro and the attack by the Aum Shinriko cult. During her four months stay in Singapore, Vanessa attended the New Creation Church pastored by Pastor Joseph Prince. Incredibly inspired by his teachings, Vanessa wrote many songs reflecting her strong beliefs in grace, healing, forgiveness, prosperity and the empowerment given to those as a Christian. In 2009 after attending a service at Pastor Jospeh Prince’s church in Singapore rededicated her life to God and felt God was leading her back back to her Christian roots to pursue her first love: GOSPEL MUSIC. As owner of her late father’s songs, Vanessa is striving to keep his songs alive and continue his legacy. Vanessa recorded and released her new CD, “GOD WILL PROVIDE” consisting of nine songs, including her father’s Dove nominated song, “I’ll See You In The Rapture” which charted #1 in the Southern Gospel radio market. This project was assisted by the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka Japan.

2011 Prophesied by her pastor: Rick Smith that Vanessa would sing for Presidents and Kings, two days later, Vanessa was told the King of Jordan: King ABullah II had arrived and was asking for a private concert. Vanessa performed one show as per the King’s request and was then asked to speak to the table where she was asked, “What is different about your voice?” Vanessa replied, “That would be Christian music, Gospel music”. The gentleman replied, “Please sing us one of these Gospel songs” which Vanessa did. She said she prayed all the way back to the stage asking for a heavy anointing and sang, “I Will Be Healed”. After the concert Vanessa had her, “I Will Be Healed” CD delivered to the King. He sent her a message telling her, “This CD gave him good feeling” and a special watch was sent to her from the King as a thank you gift. Vanessa said, “It was the anointing of God he felt when he listened to my songs as I pray over every song before I sing in the studio”. “I never want my music to be another pretty song. LOVE YOURSELF‌ I was sitting at a conference filled with writers for the Lord Though our writing styles were different our hearts were in one accord As the speaker talked I listened but then something caught my eye I saw a cross up on the wall and Jesus was about to die I really tried to concentrate on what the speaker said But Christ was looking straight at me and before he bowed his head His eyes full of compassion began to fill with tears He knew I had been struggling to love myself for years Before he died he said to me "You must learn to love Yourself as much as I love you and my Father up above" After Jesus said these words his spirit left the earth But he made sure he made it clear just how much I was worth When I left the room that night I knew I had been touched By the hand of Christ my Lord who loves me very much Still sometimes I find myself being unkind to me Then I think of that one night when Jesus made me see I am a special masterpiece and I'm precious in his sight When all I see is darkness I'm surrounded by his light @Joye

Acclaimed gospel artist Andraé Crouch has died age72. The seven-time Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, arranger, producer and pastor was taken to the Northridge Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles this past Saturday after suffering a heart attack, according to USA Today. Along with writing and singing such popular gospel songs as "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power," "My Tribute (To God Be the Glory)" and "Soon and Very Soon," Crouch also directed the choirs that sang on Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" and Madonna's "Like a Prayer." He was often praised for bridging the gap between popular music and gospel, bringing a contemporary pop and R&B sensibility to his music. He also served as a pastor alongside his sister at the New Christ Memorial Church in San Fernando, Calif. "On Saturday, January 3rd, my brother, Andraé Crouch, was taken to the hospital so that medical staff could more directly address some serious health complications that had arisen," his sister Sandra Crouch said in a statement Monday morning. "At this time, Andraé is being attended to by a medical team, and we are so grateful for their wonderful care. We are also so grateful for the many thousands of people around the world who are praying for Andraé right now. We ask for your continued prayer -- that Andraé will respond positively to the medical attention being given to him at this time, and that he will fully recover from this current health complication." Crouch had been hospitalized in December with pneumonia and congestive heart failure, forcing him to postpone his Let the Church Say Amen Celebration Tour that had been scheduled to start Dec. 6 in Philadelphia. But what you need to know is that Andrae Crouch was musically and lyrically fearless, endlessly inventive, always searching for better ways to express the gospel in music.

Andraé Edward Crouch (July 1, 1942 – January 8, 2015) was an American gospel singer, songwriter, arranger, record producer and pastor. Referred to as "the father of modern gospel music" by contemporary Christian and gospel music professionals,[1] Crouch was known for his compositions "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power", "My Tribute (To God Be the Glory)" and "Soon and Very Soon". In secular music, he was known for his collaborative work during the 1980s with Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Quincy Jones as well as conducting choirs that sang on the Michael Jackson hit "Man in the Mirror" and Madonna's "Like a Prayer". Crouch was noted for his talent of incorporating contemporary secular music styles into the gospel music he grew up with. His efforts in this area were what helped in paving the way for early American contemporary Christian music during the 1960s and 1970s. Crouch's original music arrangements were heard in the films The Color Purple and Disney's The Lion King, as well as the NBC television series Amen. Awards received by him include seven Grammy Awards, being inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1998, and receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2004. Early years…. Andraé Edward Crouch was born, along with his twin sister, Sandra, on July 1, 1942 in San Francisco, California to parents Benjamin and Catherine (neé Hodnett) Crouch.[4] When he was young, Crouch's parents owned and operated Crouch Cleaners, a dry-cleaning business, as well as a restaurant business in Los Angeles, California.[5] In addition to running the family's businesses, Crouch's parents had a Christian streetpreaching ministry and a hospital and prison ministry.[6] When Crouch was 11, his father was invited to speak for several weeks at a small church as a guest preacher. Crouch's father and the church's congregation encouraged the young boy to play during the services. At the piano, Crouch found the key in which the congregation was singing and started to play. After this, Crouch honed his piano-playing skills and, in time, wanted to write his own music. When he was 14 years old, he wrote his first Gospel song

Groups… Crouch's first group musical effort was formed in 1960 as the Church of God in Christ Singers. The group included future recording artist and session musician Billy Preston on keyboards[4] and was the first to record the Crouch's song "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power". The song's popularity grew following the initial 1969 recording, becoming a standard in churches and hymnals worldwide.[3] While attending Valley Junior College in the San Fernando Valley to become a teacher, he formed gospel music group "The Disciples" in 1965 with fellow musicians Perry Morgan and Bili Thedford.[10] The group became a frequent attraction at "Monday Night Sing" concerts in southern California put on by Audrey Mieir, a Christian minister and music composer who frequently sponsored new Christian music groups.[8] Following Mieir's introduction of Crouch to Manna Music Publishing's founders Tim and Hal Spencer, Manna published Crouch's song "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power", written when he was 15 years old. The Spencers helped launch Crouch's recording career by introducing them to Light Records founder and prolific Christian songwriter Ralph Carmichael. After the addition of Sherman Andrus to The Disciples, Light Records recorded and released the group's first album, Take the Message Everywhere, in 1968.[11] Following the group's first album release, Crouch's twin sister, Sandra, joined The Disciples. With Sandra on-board, two more albums would follow, Keep On Singin ' and Soulfully, before a major change in the group's lineup in 1972. [citation needed] Andrae left The Disciples to join The Imperials and was replaced by singer Danniebelle Hall. More musicians were being added and the group's membership by the early 70s included Fletch Wiley on trumpet, Harlan Rogers on keyboards, Hadley Hockensmith on guitar, and Bill Maxwell on drums.[8] The group appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1972[8] and to sold out crowds at Carnegie Hall in 1975 and 1979.[12] By 1985 they had also performed at the Hollywood Bowl and toured 68 countries.[citation needed] Crouch's most popular songs from this period include "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power", "Through It All", "Bless His Holy Name", "Soon and Very Soon", "Jesus is the Answer", and "My Tribute". Solo Career… After The Disciples disbanded in 1979 Crouch continued on with a solo career. His backing ensemble included Howard Smith, Linda McCrary, Táta Vega, and Kristle Murden

Along with The Andraé Crouch Singers. Joe Sample, Wilton Felder, Dean Parks, David Paich, Phillip Bailey, Stevie Wonder, El Debarge, and other secular artists were included in Crouch's recording sessions. With former Disciples drummer-turned-producer Bill Maxwell, Crouch co-produced projects for The Winans, Danniebelle Hall, and Kristle Murden. Many musical acts and solo performers covered his more popular works, including Elvis Presley with I've Got Confidence. In 1986, Crouch composed the theme music for the Sherman Hemsley sitcom Amen , sung by Vanessa Bell Armstrong. He was featured in the 1995 Warren Chaney docudrama, America: A Call to Greatness.[13] In 2006 Crouch released Mighty Wind, a 40th anniversary album featuring guest performances by Lauren Evans, Crystal Lewis, Karen Clark Sheard, Táta Vega, and Marvin Winans. Influence Crouch has been credited as a key figure in Jesus music of the 1960s and 1970s and, as a result, helping to bring about contemporary Christian music into the church. As well, he is also credited with helping to bridge the gap between black and white Christian music and revolutionizing the sound of urban Gospel music. Though sometimes criticized for diluting the Christian message by using contemporary music styles, his songs have become staples in churches and hymnals around the world and have been recorded by mainstream artists such as Elvis Presley and Paul Simon.[4] His affiliation with Light Records was instrumental in bringing Walter and Tramaine Hawkins, Jessy Dixon and The Winans to the label, from where they all enjoyed successful gospel music careers. His influence has extended to celebrated Christian artists such as BeBe and CeCe Winans, The Clark Sisters, Wintley Phipps, Anointed and Israel Houghton. In 1996, Crouch and his music were honored on the Grammy Award-winning CD, Tribute: The Songs of Andraé Crouch, released by Warner Bros. Records. The album featured a wide range of artists performing Crouch's classic songs and featured the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Take 6 and Michael W. Smith. Crouch and his sister Sandra had a friendship and music relationship with Michael Jackson. In 1987, the Andraé Crouch Choir sang background vocals along with Siedah Garrett, Glen Ballard, and The Winans on Jackson's hit single "Man in the Mirror" from the Bad album. The Andraé Crouch Singers

were also featured on the songs "Keep the Faith" and "Will You Be There" from Jackson's 1991 Dangerous album. On Jackson's HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I project in 1995, the AndraĂŠ Crouch Choir is heard on "Earth Song." Crouch's composition, "Soon and Very Soon" was performed at the public memorial service for Jackson held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on July 7, 2009. [citation needed] Crouch was a judge in 2009 for the 10th annual Independent Music Awards to support the careers of independent music artists Between 1993 and 1994 his father, mother, and older brother all died.Following his father's death, he took over as Senior Pastor at Christ Memorial Church of God in Christ in Pacoima, California, the church founded by his parents, serving alongside his twin sister Sandra. Crouch was hospitalized in early December 2014 for pneumonia and congestive heart failure. As a result, his December tour was postponed. He was hospitalized again on January 3, 2015 in Los Angeles, as the result of a heart attack. Crouch died five days later at Northridge Hospital Medical Center on January 8, 2015, at the age of 72. On the same day, his sister, Sandra, released the following statement: "Today my twin brother, womb-mate and best friend went home to be with the Lord. Please keep me, my family and our church family in your prayers. I tried to keep him here but God loved him best."

Grammy winner Jason Crabb reacts to the passing of Andrae' Crouch To say the legendary Andrae' Crouch was an influence on my life would be a vast understatement. One of the highlights of my career was to perform his classic song, "The Blood Will Never Lose It's Power," as he played the piano during a Bill Gaither video taping - I'll never forget it. We've lost a true pioneer and he will be missed. - Jason Crabb

JEFF DAVIDSON……..

I was just a kid when I learned about this anointed black artist. All the kids were listening to in the church youth group…..ANDRAE’ CROUCH AT CARNEGIE HALL. I bought the 8-track and wore it out. ( LOL) I always considered his music top drawer for spiritual content. HE WILL FOREVER BE CHERISHED AND GOD HAS USED HIS SONGS ENDLESSLY TO BLESS COUNTLESS LIVES. Through It All/ To God Be The Glory/ The blood Will Never Lose It’s Power. Just to name a few. Love Ya Andrae’ ...GOING UP YONDER.

I had the pleasure of meeting Andrae’ Crouch at a concert of his and later speaking and sharing at a Gaither Video taping. And each time he was a real and anointed Christian man. He will be missed. The song that he will be most remembered for is “Through It All” That song has helped me through many trying days. Thank you, Andrae’ Crouch...you will be missed. Jim Reynolds

I am 10 years older than Andrae’, but always looked upon Brother Crouch as a spiritual image of an over comer of spiritual battles. We attended Andre's Father's church when we were in our early teens, and have had the honor of being on joint programs several times with Andre. We attempted to duplicate some of our songs towards an Andre style, however crude it turned out to be. We learned real quick, you don't try to duplicate a diamond in the industry. Love the man and pray for his family and Church. Melvin Klaudt

Our hearts were saddened to learn of the passing of Andrea Crouch And Lari Goss in recent days both were pioneers in their fields and were instrumental in presenting Jesus Christ through there ministries. our prayers condolences and sympathies Go out to their families, They will truly be missed Dave Raby

As a gospel singer, traveling with The Revelators during the 60's and 70's, I have to assert that Andrae Crouch had an incredible influence on the style of music we were recording. His articulation and message both had specific impact on many of the young artists of the day. The songs, "It Won't Be Long", "My Tribute", "If Heaven Never Was Promised To Me" and many others still have a sweet connection today. The legendary Andrae Crouch--truly a man among men. Russ Adair

In Loving Memory of Andre Crouch I know your hearts are heavy and you miss having me there But now I am rejoicing in that land so bright and fair When I got to heaven I heard the angels sing And then at last it happened I saw the King of Kings He welcomed me with open arms and said come with me my son It's time to see your great rewards for a life of work well done Then we started walking down the streets of gold And I saw in the distance Homecoming friends of old We had a great reunion then we saw Peter, John and Paul Each one told the story of how God brought them THROUGH IT ALL God's power came upon us and we knelt before God's son Shouting TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR THE THINGS HE HAS DONE Please don't be sad and mourn for me though my body may be gone SOON AND VERY SOON we'll be rejoicing around God's throne @Joye Atkinson

I Also Reviewed A Single From A Group Of Singers From The U.K. Total Praise U.K. Singers. No Other Name But God I Found To Be Very Good All Vocals Seem To Be In Perfect Order, Music Track Is Quite Catchy And Assembled In A Professional Manner. The Only Area I Would Advise Is To Bring More Attention To The Group By More Publicity.

Nashville, TN --- In an industry dominated by quartets and mixed groups, Ivan Parker is a solo artist who has crafted his art and established a distinguished ministry characterized by the artist’s unmistakable style. Now, Ivan Parker has created an album that weaves a musical passage through the fabric of life. Threads of Mercy is a lyrical journey, describing God’s presence through life’s highs and lows, good times and bad, with one thing always standing true: mercy brings us through to the glory of God. Threads of Mercy is available on Horizon Records on January 20, 2015. Ivan Parker is available for interview. Please email info@penguinpublicity.com to request a review copy or digital link for media review. From the kicking first radio single “’Til the Shackles Fall Off” and the upbeat “On the Solid Rock I Stand,” to the thought provoking “Silent Prayer” and “God’s In The Middle Of It,” the album sews a storyline of God’s love and mercy. Parker’s award-winning voice echoes with the sound of yesterday’s great singers while his style is contemporary and versatile. Whether it’s up-tempo or a ballad, an Ivan Parker song is almost immediately identifiable. The artist hits his vocal sweet spot throughout this new record with a voice that matches perfectly and

warmly with the songs on Threads of Mercy. Ivan Parker has won thirty Singing News Fan Awards, including eleven Male Vocalist awards. Threads of Mercy may well take him on to many more accolades. It is an inspiring and uplifting collection. "Ivan Parker has won every vocalist award possible over the years, first as a quartet singer and then as a soloist. His ministry is just that - a ministry which reaches thousands of people every year. Can there be any doubt he is the premier singer in gospel music. Everyone at Horizon Records is honored to have him on our label." - Mickey Gamble, President, Horizon Records Like most Christians, Ivan has known some "ups and downs." He remembers well the day, when he was just 9 years old, when he was saved as he was moved by a fiery sermon in his daddy’s church. Parker admits to mistakes along the way, but he lives with his favorite passage from Scripture, Psalm 23. "I believe God does His greatest works in us when we are in the valley. It is there that we are more open to what He has in store for us." When asked if he had any unfulfilled dreams, Ivan has said, "You never stop dreaming about where your ministry is going. I just pray that God will take what I am presently doing and increase it. I am living my dream...but the dream is not completed yet." The song goes on. TRACK LIST 1.

If You Loved Me ----But--- Love Shouldn't hurt When you're a teenager it's a wonderful thing to be in love. It's exciting, romantic, fun, and a time of mixed emotions. You're walking on air and you're in love with the greatest person in the world. Nothing could possibly go wrong. That is until they become demanding, verbally abusive, jealous, possessive and threatening. You have suddenly found the dark side of dating known as Dating Violence. Dating Violence isn't a subject everybody wants to talk about. But you can't sweep it under the rug. It's real. It exists and it's a big problem that is affecting youth in every community across the United States. We know that Valentine's Day is in February, but are you aware that it is also a month dedicated to Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention. Teen dating abuse and violence is a serious problem in the United States and we need to be aware of this growing problem? Did you know that dating violence is the leading cause of injury to women. In 2014 the Department of Justice reported that 20% of female high school students reported being physically or sexually abused by a dating partner. 32% of high school students will be involved in an abusive relationship. 40% of teenage girls say they know someone their age that has been hit or beaten by a boyfriend. 7% of all murder victims were killed by their boyfriends. 38% of date rape victims were young women from 14 to 17 years of age. 67% of all sexual assaults were attributed to date rape. 68% of young women raped knew their rapist either as a boyfriend, friend or acquaintance. 60% of the rapes of young women occurred in their own home or a friends or relative's home. It is also reported that 80% of school counselors report being unprepared to address incidents of abuse. 81% of parents believe teen dating violence is not an issue or admit they don’t know

if it is an issue. You may be wondering what exactly makes an abusive relationship It is also reported that 80% of school counselors report being unprepared to address incidents of abuse. 81% of parents believe teen dating violence is not an issue or admit they don’t know if it is an issue. You may be wondering what exactly makes an abusive relationship. Abusers will try to manipulate their victims into thinking the abuse was their fault or they deserved it. You may hear the victim use excuses for the abusers behavior such as “He only hit me once and then promised he'd never do it again. Remember it is never the victims fault. It's always about power and control. No relationship starts off abusive or is first based on violent behavior. Sometimes it can be difficult to recognize abuse for what it is. You may not have a black eye, but that doesn't mean your partner hasn't been abusive. Remember dating abuse comes in a lot of different forms and doesn't always leave marks that are visible to the eye. Teen victims of dating violence deserve the same legal protections that adult victims of domestic abuse receive. Young victims should have access to the legal system and other services needed to ensure their safety. Teens often face overwhelming obstacles to these basic legal protections, many of which are written into their states' laws. As a result, young victims of dating abuse often cannot apply for restraining orders.

To call attention to this critical situation, Break the Cycle created the State Law Report Cards. The Report Cards survey the civil domestic violence protection order laws of all fifty states and the District of Columbia, assessing their impact on teens seeking protection from abusive relationships. See where you state falls in the grading system and then decide what you can do the help change the law in order to help with this ever growing problem of teen dating violence. The states with the highest rating or an A are California, District of Columbia, Illinois, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, and Washington. The states with a B rating include Alaska, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Tennessee, Vermont, and West Virginia. The states that obtained a C rating include Arkansas, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas and Wyoming, The states that come in with a F rating include Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, and Virginia. As you can see there is still a lot of work to be done to bring Teen Dating Violence into the spotlight. So let's all work together to put a stop to this ever growing problem of Teen Dating Violence. February is the month of Love and I can define what love means to me, but I can't even begin to define love for you or anyone else. Love is the most personal of all emotions. We each feel it in different ways, even within our many relationships love changes to fit the situation. I have always loved this definition of love... Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy. Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude; It is not self-seeking, nor easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongdoing. It does not delight in evil, But rejoices in the truth. It always protects, trusts, hopes, and preserves. There is nothing love cannot face; There is no limit to its faith, hope, and endurance. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 Love is many things to many people, but it should always begin and end with respect. If you are getting anything less from your relationships, then it is not love. Love and disrespect cannot coexist, when you love someone the last thing you want to do is to hurt them, but those with a distorted view of love tend to accept disrespect as just another part of love. A lot of people struggle with the definition of love in their relationships, perhaps instead of defining what love is we should remember what love is not. Love isn't supposed to hurt, love isn't supposed to hit, love is not supposed to hold you down. Love is NOT abuse!

If you are someone or know someone who is in an abusive dating relationship there is help. LoveIsRespect.org National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline 1-866-331-9474 National Domestic Violence Hotline 1-800-799-SAFE(7233) National Youth Crisis Line 1-800-442-HOPE(4673)

While February is the month of love let us not forget the greatest love of all. The love of Christ and how he loved us so much he gave his life for us to have everlasting life.

My Name is Paula and I am a survivor of Domestic Violence.

I have always told others that I counseled later on in life, that while our young boys were off fighting a war in Vietnam, I was fighting a war here in the United States. A war I didn't understand. A War I didn't deserve. A war that I thought I wouldn't survive. I suffered through it for seventeen years. Seventeen years of pure darkness, fear, heartache and pain. I had only known my husband one week when I married. I was lonely and didn't date much and at 20, I felt kinda over the hill and I wanted to be married and have children because all my friends were at the time. Not a smart move on my part. From the very day we got married the abuse started. On our wedding night he was brutal and had no compassion .I thought maybe this was what was to be expected in a marriage for I knew nothing about things like that. One small tear rolled down my check and he choked me and dare me to shed a tear or else he would give me a reason to cry, A week later we had gotten into an argument and he hit me full force in the chest knocking me up against a wall. I was shocked and bewildered as to how and why this happen What did I do that I deserved to be hit like that? Was then the dislike and yes even hatred for him started within my soul and I wanted to leave. Trouble is,I had no where to go .Couldn't go home because my parents had told me if I married him they would disown me. Plus I didn't want them to know what was going on. I was ashamed and embarrassed as well. I threatened to leave and he started crying and saying how sorry he was and it would never happen again. That's when I should have gotten out fast no matter what even if I had to live on the streets but I forgave and wanted to believe it wouldn't happen again. Wasn't long though till it did happened again. This time even worse then the before but unfortunately I had just found out I was pregnant as well. Here I was newly married, due to have a baby and couldn't go home and so I stayed even though I didn't want too..Three months along into my pregnancy he hit me so hard that I had to go to hospital because I started bleeding heavily. I found out while there, not only was I pregnant but was pregnant with twins but they couldn't save one.It was a miracle that one lived at all. Think that was the day part of me died. I was angry with God as well .I didn't’ know nor understand what I had done so bad that I deserved this and felt He deserted me, Through all the seventeen years of marriage he kept blaming me as of reasoning for his abusive actions. I made him mad. I didn't know how to cook foods he could eat, I didn't dress as he felt I should, I didn't wear make- up right cause it made me look ugly. The list went on and on as to why I was to blame . I couldn't even look at scenery while riding in the car because it meant I was flirting with men in other cars and so when we went anywhere, I had to look only at the floorboard or take a beating. I even began blaming myself. I believed everything was my fault and that I deserved everything he did. I had no self esteem and no confidence. I even believed him when he told no one would ever have me but him.He isolated me from friends and family and if I got permission to go see family he would time me going and coming back and heaven help if I was late. He would even call and check on me every 15 minutes I was there, I

couldn't even go to the store without being timed. Back then if a woman called the cops for help they refused to do anything,They said " what goes on in a mans home, is his business". I had no where to turn. Judges did nothing as well and there weren't any shelters to turn to for a long time .People turned their backs to abuse and some even felt women deserved it . I felt alone and helpless and yes afraid. If I did say anything about leaving he would force me to sit for hours and tell me in long drawn out details as what he would do to my family if I did try and escape. I believed at the time he would carry through with his threats. He was young and crazy enough to do it. It was far better for me to take the abuse then to live with the guilt of something terrible happening to my family. I know first hand what its like to be beaten , bit till blood was drawn, head smashed under the hood of a car with the engine on and my face so close to the fan that I felt for sure it would shred me to pieces, choked till I pass out, iron rod thrown at me, kept in isolation and treated as a slave, plates of food thrown at me because his food wasn't cooked to his liking, thrown outside naked in the snow until I got permission to come back in, thrown from moving cars , shot at and so much more. It took me finally snapping mentally before I finally took action and took my children and ran. By then I had four and it was by far the best decision I ever made .I even told my family some of what I had lived through. Wasn't easy by any means for I didn't know where to turn, how to support my children or even where to live.Yet I did it and I had the love and support of my family to help me during that time.,I made it and it took even me years before I stopped looking over my shoulder in fear but I kept on going. I'am a survivor and I wanted to live,I knew God didn't want this kind of life for me nor my children. Above all I knew He never left me at all. I had left Him. If your a victim of abuse ,Call 911 and report it, record the abuse if possible.Make a plan of escape, pack a bag and put it in a safe place to take with you when you go. Call a woman's abuse shelter and they will come get you or call a friend you trust. If possible, save up some money to help you when you leave. File for a protective order. If your terrified of your spouse and he is considered dangerous, take defensive training classes, get neighbors or family to keep an eye out, have a special way of alerting them if he is close by or even in your home so they can call police. Never go out alone .Always take a friend. There are many ways now that a woman can protect herself and don't be afraid to use one if need be. Once away stop blaming yourself and stop making excuses for their behavior. Its not your fault. They have the need to control and you don't have to be their victim. Trust me there are stages a man will go through which will play on your sympathy.

First is the begging and promises, then what I call the honeymoon stage and when that doesn't work the anger sets in .Don't listen, stand your ground and refuse to talk to him. Find a good support group and never give up or turn back. Your stronger then what you give yourself credit for and you dont deserve the abuse. Above all ,think of your children and what it is doing to them. What they have to see or listen too .Abuse can be a vicious circle and with your children living under those conditions they too may become abusers as well. They also maybe become abused. Fight for your right to live because you do count and your sure worth it. Life will get better .Count on that. Remember God loves ya and so do I.

"God Will Make A Way" I am sitting here starring at this blank page trying to figure out what to write for this months article. So much has happened this first month of 2015. A lot of great things and some trials and tribulations. The one thing that God is always reminding me of is that He is in control and He will always make a way where there seems to be no way. When life seems to come at you full force and the trials and tribulations seem to never end there is light at the end of the tunnel. God is always one step ahead of us and creating a way for us as we stubble through the dark times of our life. Life can be hard at times and the enemy will take advantage of that because Satan would rather keep us in the spot that we are in to keep us oppressed, depressed and discouraged so we take our eyes off God. When times are hard we tend to focus on all the negativity that is surrounding us and that is going on in our lives. We can’t allow Satan to use that against us, we need to hit our knees in prayer and let God take control and help us through the storm and make a way for us. He can and will guide you through and back into the light and set you on higher ground. When ever I am faced with trials and tribulations I start singing the song "God Will Make A Way" by Don Moen. This song is always a reminder that God will always make a way, even when there doesn't seem to be.

Strategic Planning can help you prevent some losses and quickly recover from a natural disaster, accident, or theft. This article was original posted on my blog, June 2013 http:// www.uniquelyorganizedandutilized.blogspot.com/2013/06/strategic-planning-canhelp-you-prevent.html Do you have a Disaster Plan? What would you do if Storms, Fire, other damage or Theft; occurred and threatened damage or loss of your treasured files, pictures, or possessions. Do you have a plan for digital failure or remote access? Is the plan written down, has it been updated? Do your spouse and family know where it is and how to carry it out?

This is one time that "What if's" can be helpful. Looking at our homes, offices, vehicles, and/or places we visit and thinking "If someone were to break in, what would they get... and working from that to reduce their bounty. Asking you if cell phone or laptop computer was damaged or stolen what would I lose? Taking steps to be able to access everything you have on those devices will give you that sense of control when the worst occurs.

What if you went out of town, had an unexpected delay, and needed to work on something on your computer? Weather shows severe weather back at home, will your home be safe? Do you have contact information for neighbors who can secure your home/office until you get back? You receive a call that your home has been damaged or broken into? If you experienced a break in or theft would, you be able to file a complete report? Description, Serial numbers, models, sizes etc. Can you secure your sensitive applications and files? Could you report your credit cards, other membership cards etc. What if your spouse or child was the victim of the disaster or crime? Are you insured?? For what occurrences??? Terms??? How much coverage (NEEDS TO BE checked and updated whenever a change occurs). If it happens on someone Else's property are you still covered? Need help evaluating, planning and executing steps to make your possessions safe as possible, having the essential information to be able to file a complete and accurate report and to recover your information to continue your work. Love Stories Shared by Our readers here on Southern Gospel Magazine. Thank you for sharing with all of us‌..

My 31 yr old son, who is half way thru serving a 15 year sentence, was home for his tri-monthly weekend furlough,. He was baptized in Jesus' name Sunday morning! Next week I go to visit my daughter & her hubby & baby, and my goal is to get them in church while I'm there > I love my family and thank God for them and what he is doing in their lives...

My Once Upon Time and Happily Ever After Before I can tell you my love story I have to go back to my first husband. I lived in a very abusive relationship. One of verbal, physical and mental abuse. One day I finally got the courage after leaving on two different occasions to make that step and leave with my children. Because of this relationship I never wanted to be involved with anyone. My heart was broken as well as my spirit. For you see I thought he was my happily ever after. I would never trust a man with my heart again. That was until the day Steve Floyd walked into my life. I had been out with some friends who were trying to cheer me up. They introduced me to Steve and as they say the rest was history. He made me laugh, he held me when I cried. He taught me how to trust and love again. God had not only given me my Prince Charming, he had given me my soul mate. He loved my children as his own. And they loved him as a father. When our grandchildren were born he was one proud Pop. Our youngest grandson thought the son rose and set in his Pop. When Pop picked up his foot to walk Dylan's little foot stepped right in the one Pop had just made. We had 28 wonderful years with together. Yes I said had because the love of my life, my prince charming and soul mate's new home is in Heaven. In February of 2012 Steve suffered from kidney failure and had to go on dialysis. Things went well for a while but if you're familiar with dialysis you know there are side effects from the treatment. Because of some of those complications he had to be admitted to the hospital. He spent 76 days in the hospital and 36 of those days were spent in a coma. People tried to tell me I needed to prepare myself because he wasn't coming home.

Well I'm found out I was a determined and stubborn woman. I reached up and grabbed God's hand and held on to my mustard seed. I told everyone this man was walking out this hospital and going home with me. Seventy-two days later he was coming home. I saw God and my mustard seed move a mountain. He had to go through extensive rehab in order to get back to where he was able to get around without any help. He did so good that in March of 2013 we were able to make a trip to Texas to visit our oldest daughter. Little did we know that would be the last trip he would make. In April he had to be put back in the hospital because of a staph infection. The staph infection attacked his heart and he had to have open heart surgery. He came through the surgery without any problems. But even then I knew this time he wasn't coming home with me. I felt it in my heart. When he would wake up he would say he wanted to come home. I would tell him I loved him and it was okay he could go home. One of the side affects of dialysis is an irregular heart beat. His heart rate went up so high his heart just couldn't keep up. On June 11 at 12:45 God sent his angel to bring him home. But my love story doesn't end there. My happily ever after continues each day. Each morning I hear him say good morning beautiful. I see him sitting in his spot on the couch. Some days I can still smell the aftershave he use to wear. I feel his presence with me everyday. I thank God everyday for letting me be a part of this wonderful man's life. As long as I live and my heart beats he will always be alive. Even then my happily ever after still doesn't end . You see one day I'm going to walk the streets of gold with him by my side. He loved to fish and we're going to sit on the bank of God's river and fish like we use to. You see your happily ever after doesn't have to end as long as you both have your hearts right with God and your sights are set on heaven. You may say “How can I have my happily ever after? Just wait on the Lord. He has you prince charming and your happily ever after. All you have to do is wait and believe. He'll drop them in your life when you least expect it.

How to Fill an Empty Marriage One more night of feeling lonely while lying next to someone who you had hoped would be your soulmate forever. One more morning waking up frustrated, sad, and hopeless. One more day of looking for an excuse to work late. One more time of wondering how you ever let things get this far. Most people get married to be happy. Or at least you expect to be happy. During the early days of your relationship the world seemed fuller, the sky brighter, and the future full of hope when you were together. But now the marriage you hoped would bring you happiness and fulfillment only seems to make your inner emptiness all the more painful. “What can I do about an empty marriage?” is one of the most frequent questions I get asked. Wives wonder how they can extract some measure of warmth from a man who seems not to care. Husbands become frustrated and angry over a wife who seems to be a bottomless pit. It can become a sad state of affairs indeed. In a perfect world perhaps man and woman “should” be able to fulfill each other’s needs completely. Husband and wife “should” provide an endless supply of understanding, friendship, affirmation, and intimacy – in a word, love. But too often we go to the well of our spouse’s heart to get a drink and find the well dry. Sometimes it even appears they are willing and able to provide a drink to others who are thirsty, but can’t do so for you. When you were small, your parents (or someone else) had to feed you. The only way you could get your needs met was if someone cared enough to understand what you needed, and provide it for you. But now that you’re grown up you’re not at someone else’s mercy in the same way – unless you choose to be. You get to decide when and how much to eat. And just the same, you get to decide a great deal about when and how much soul nourishment you take in. Your spouse is not responsible for filling you up; you are. You don’t have to be dependent on your spouse to make you feel fulfilled.

. So what do you do if your marriage seems to leave you feeling empty? Here are some ideas: Ask kindly and specifically for what you need. Even the best spouse is not a mind-reader. Your husband or wife MAY be willing and able to give you some of what you need if you make it clear what that is. Not always, and not every time. But try something like “Honey, would you give me a backrub?” or “Sweetheart, could I meet you for lunch – just the two of us?” And then let them know how much it means to you when they respond. Don’t get too needy. If you’re overworked, overly tired, or otherwise overextended the dryness of your own well is your own “fault.” Take care of your physical body by getting the rest, nutrition, and exercise you need. A rested and clear mind has a much better attitude; your marriage may look different when you’re physically feeling reasonably OK. Find ways to fill your own soul. Perhaps it’s playing music, a walk in nature, or a sports event. Some of your internal fulfillment must come from your own initiative. If your spouse joins you, that’s great. If they don’t, you’re still responsible for doing the things that fill you up. (Remember though, no sexual fulfillment except from your spouse.) Find a coworker, a girlfriend, a church group, a sports buddy to do some things with. Give what you DO have. If you’ve done any of these things there will be SOMETHING in your heart. It may be only half full. Or only 10% full. But find a way to give something that you DO have to someone else. It’s a law of the universe (in other words, God made it that way!) that when you give you will receive more. And this often works especially well when the one you give to is your spouse. Give without expecting ANYTHING in return. Go to God for your deepest needs. No human being can fill up another human being completely. There’s a need inside each of us, man or woman, that only God can fulfill. That doesn’t mean people aren’t important, but no person can do what only He can. Some things that you may need to get directly from God include reassurance that you’ve got what it takes, that your soul is beautiful, or that you’re always loved. Only He can heal the deepest wounds we all accumulate through life. In a marriage, two halves do NOT make a whole. Two partial people don’t equal a whole marriage. The statement “you complete me” can never be completely true. So if your marriage seems empty, don’t keep going back to the same empty well and become ever more discouraged. Focus on finding ways to fill your soul in the ways that you can, even if it’s not perfectly. And then focus on moving toward your spouse, and finding ways to give rather than get.

Klondyke Gospel Music Center IS NOT CLOSED I would like to take the time to address the Singing groups who have sung at the Klondyke Gospel Music Center in Ozark Alabama either for the previous manager or for Loretta Turner and her husband James. The Klondyke is a historic landmark and building and many groups have sang there like the Dixie Melody Boys , The Florida Boys , The Singing Echoes , and many many more and the groups pictures are all over the walls . Loretta and her Husband has done alot of work on the place however there is a need for a new sign that can be seen and some lighting across the front lighting it up and loads of gravel needs to be brought in for the parking area. The Klondyke is a 501c3 therefore any donations can be given a tax receipt for. Loretta always makes sure the groups get a little something in Love Offering and then has housing on the back of the music center with Beds with Bedding Bathrooms , Showers , Full Kitchen area , washer and

dryer and much more so that saves the groups having to pay for a motel She also tries to get the groups bookings at local churches to help with travel cost as well. They need our help and support to keep the doors open , many ask for venues they can sing at and this is one that is still out there and is free for those that come there to hear the groups , However there are several items needed to let people know they are there. The main thing being a new sign as the old one is worn out and has a short. They Need our help so we are asking for donations to help the Klondyke out if you can help please contact Loretta Turner (334)4051500 They just celebrated there 25 Year Silver Anniversary but one person cannot handle it all as they have been doing. Any amount a month would really help. Thank you anything you can do to keep this great piece of history open for artists to come and sing. A Friend , Tod Davis

Do We Really love HIM? Welcome to the Porch, Hope you brought a nice cold glass of sweet tea or a nice warm cup of coffee. First, let’s say a short prayer asking God to open our ears and our hearts. Father, we come to you now asking that you will use these words in such a way that hearts will be blessed and open to you. Father, all we do we do for you. Each of us humbled, by your love and mercies every day. Amen “She has done a good work for Me” Mark 14:6 Here it is it is February the month of love. Many of us will be showing our love to our sweeties by taking them out to a fancy dinner or maybe

even a new diamond. But is this what really matters? We do these things “out of love” but deep inside we are expecting something in return…. Aren't we? If what we call love doesn't take us beyond ourselves, our selfish motives or expectations, it is not really love. If we have the idea that love is characterized as cautious, wise, sensible, shrewd, and never taken to extremes, we have missed the true meaning. Love may be described as affection and it brings us that warm fuzzy feeling, but this IS NOT a true and accurate description of love. Have you ever felt driven to do something for anyone?... God? Not because you felt it was useful or your duty or what you may gain from it? But simply because you LOVED. Ms. Sheri Easter sings a song called “She Loved” good meaning in this song. Let’s take this and apply it to God. Have you ever realized that you CAN GIVE (things) to GOD, Things that are of value to Him? Or are you just sitting around daydreaming about the greatness of His redemption, while neglecting all the things you could be doing for Him? I don’t mean works that could be considered divine or miraculous, but ordinary, simple human things- things that would be evidence to God that you are totally surrendered to Him. Looking at Mary of Bethany and what she (scripture reference) created in the heart of Jesus… Mark 14:6 “She has done a good work for Me” There are times that God watches to see if we will give Him small gifts of surrender just to show how genuine our love is for Him. To be surrendered to God is the more valuable than any of our personal attempts at love. We concern ourselves with our personal love or holiness. We become more concerned about the way we walk, talk and look, out of offending God…” perfect love cast out fear…” once we surrender to God (1 John 4:18). Many times we ask ourselves “Am I of any use” It really isn't about use. God created us to love Him and he seeks it to be unconditional. If you love God and totally surrender to Him, he will use you. So, don’t neglect giving the simple things to God. Give Him love in all you do and He will love you in return and reward you with His peace, joy and Love. Brian
