STAR/GATEWAY COURSES 2019 WELCOME TO THE SIT2LRN STAR/ GATEWAY PROGRAMME SIT2LRN STAR/Gateway programmes are designed for secondary school students. They offer an opportunity for students to align with tertiary programmes and achieve various vocational credits alongside their school qualifications. SIT2LRN STAR/Gateway offers NZQA unit standards by distance with no travel/timetable problems. More information can be found on our website:

COURSE COSTS The cost to the school is $36.00 including GST per Credit. (This includes all resubmissions). Individual unit standard prices are specified with each programme.

ENROLMENT Enrolments for SIT2LRN STAR/Gateway programmes must be made by the schools STAR/ Gateway Coordinator via the online application form: How to enrol: » http://www.sit.ac.nz/Fees-Enrolments/STARGateway » Step 1 - Fill out your school’s details & click NEXT. » Step 2 -Fill out Enrolment details, Student details & Course Details, Click FINISHED or if you would like to add another student to the Enrolment Click ADD ANOTHER STUDENT enter additional student details then Click FINISHED. Once your online enrolment has been submitted you will receive an email copy of your full enrolment. Please check ALL details are correct. This email will also confirm that your enrolment has been received by SIT. If your enrolment requires any changes please contact us immediately. Please note: On receipt of the first enrolment nt a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be sent to the schools STAR/Gateway Coordinator within 10 working days. This will cover the academic year.
ASSESSMENTS
TEXT BOOKS
» Course material and assessments are sent to the school in hardcopy. A SIT2LRN USB will be sent with applicable animal care units. » Please ensure students complete ALL parts of the assessments before returning to SIT for marking. » ALL communication between SIT and the student will be via the School’s STAR/Gateway Coordinator. » It is the STAR/Gateway Coordinators responsibility to read through the material on arrival and ascertain if the assessments are open book or supervised assessments. » You are required to take a copy of the students assessment before sending into SIT for marking.
Unit standards that have recommended or required texts are specified in the course descriptor.
MARKING AND RESUBMISSIONS » Assessments are sent to the SIT STAR/Gateway department to be marked. » Results are reported to the school NOT NZQA. It is the schools responsibility to include the student results in their NZQA report. SIT’s provider number will be on the end of year report. » Students will be marked Achieved (A) or Not Achieved (N). » If students are marked Not Acheived their work will be sent back to the school to allow the student the opportunity to re-submit.
