Court news A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 13 for a Wind Lake man charged with breaking into a Delavan gas station with a tractor and stealing vodka and cigarettes. Tony R. Ozanick, 30, was charged Oct. 22 in Walworth County Circuit Court with burglary of a building or dwelling, criminal damage to property and three counts of misdemeanor theft. According to the criminal complaint, the manager of Spirits of Delavan at the Stop-N-Go reported Oct. 6 that someone had broken into the back door of the liquor department the night before and stolen alcohol and cigarettes. Missing were Tito’s vodka, two 30-packs of Coors and American Spirit cigarettes, according to the complaint. Video surveillance showed a white man with a full dark beard taking a carton of cigarettes from behind the counter, the complaint states. The steel back door with steel framing was mangled and forced into the building and tire marks on the concrete pad by the door were consistent with the use of a lawn tractor with a bucket being used to breach the entrance, according to the complaint. An employee said he recognized the person in the video surveillance as a regular customer who rides a lawn tractor with a bucket on the front to Stop-N-Go via County Highway X under the Interstate 43 bridge, the complaint states. Another witness identified the man as “Tony” and said Tony had a beard the previous
day, but, today, it was shaved off, according to the complaint. He said the green tractor is always on the east side of a residence where Tony lives in an enclosed trailer on the property, but today it was hidden out back behind the barns, according to the complaint. Police made contact with Ozanick in the trailer where they found clothing that matches clothes the suspect was wearing in the video, and police found chunks of masonry brick inside the tractor’s bucket that matched the exterior of the Stop-N-Go, according to the complaint. Ozanick also had American Spirit cigarettes and Tito’s vodka, the complaint states. Man found with multiple drugs in LaGrange A status conference is scheduled for Nov. 19 for an Elkhorn man allegedly found with THC wax, heroin and meth while riding a bike in the Town of LaGrange. Jonathen D. Heath, 39, was charged Oct. 15 in Walworth County Circuit Court with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, all as a repeater. According to the criminal complaint, police conducted a welfare check on Heath who was riding a bicycle on Highway 12 in the Town of LaGrange on Oct. 1 and learned he had multiple warrants for his arrest from Racine County. He was checked for contraband as he was arrested on the warrants and found with a grinder, glass pipes, a scale, self-sealing plas-
tic bags, THC wax, meth and complied with orders to crawl heroin, according to the com- out from under the van.
