woke leftists.
In response to the person who claimed Democrats “never” worked in a bipartisan manner with Trump, in his first year we worked with the GOP to send him the Elder Abuse Prevention & Protection Act (S.178), Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (H.R.3364) & the Department of Veterans Affairs Accountability & Whistleblower Protection Act of 2017(S.1094), three of many. Look now and before how much great legislation was blocked by Mitch McConnell from even getting a vote in the Senate. *** For the caller who directed their comments at those who object to Democrats in office; where does one begin? I suppose an admonishment to not think more of oneself than you ought might be in order. Democrats are not being elected because of their policies, but because there is no legitimate opposition to them. Republicans have long abdicated their responsibility to fight the progressives and have at best been engaged in delaying tactics. Democrats end up in office not on their merits but because nobody is showing up to vote against
them. Another caller noted that of 20,000 registered voters in Lombard, only 5,000 showed up. What’s the point? A record of betrayal by Republicans, Democrat gerrymandering, a leftist media, and the politics of lies and personal destruction have made it impossible for a conservative to win in this state. *** There is a collective blindness to the destruction we’re being pushed toward. Democrats eagerly and aggressively work to dismantle this country (party over country?) and Republicans are too cowardly to speak or fight against it. Democrats define bipartisanship as fully submitting without objection to their agenda. You cannot have bipartisanship with an enemy that wants your total destruction. *** I saw a photo and video of Kamala Harris and her husband exchanging a kiss, but the thing is, they had their masks on! Why? Both received their second vaccine dose in late January. This is absolutely silly, but then again, why even begin to try to figure out what goes through the minds of
Villa Park’s 2021 Spring Sweep recycling and shredding event takes place on Saturday
*** Do Democrats even know the whole story about the Capitol Police officer being murdered on Jan. 6 is a complete lie? The media ran with the “officer was beaten with a fire extinguisher by Trump supporters” over and over again. Democrats even referred to that in their second impeachment of Trump. It was a total lie. Did you read that, Democrats? A total lie. It never happened. Nobody beat that officer on Jan. 6. Nobody assaulted him with bear spray, either. He suffered two strokes and died of natural causes. *** To the person who suggested “Trumpism has removed all vestiges of humanity, understanding and empathy just because someone voiced their opinion about mask wearing while walking their dog and suggested the newspaper stop printing these senseless and harmful comments.” Aren’t you spewing “senseless and harmful comments” by insulting 75 million Trump supporters with your broad biased remark? And should this newspaper deny someone’s right to freedom of speech because you don’t like what’s said? People like you are destroying our country. *** The ratings for Biden’s address to Congress were pathetic. Do people really believe he was the most popular candidate in our nation’s history? *** Why are school districts pushing healthy children to get vaccinated with an experimental vaccine that will supposedly vaccinate them against something that doesn’t even affect them? *** The official White House YouTube video—100 Days of the Biden-Harris Administration—currently has about 800 likes and about 4,200 dislikes. If you look at several of the other videos on the White House’s YouTube page, you will see the dislikes. This is even after reports that YouTube is manipulating the totals of likes and dislikes. STAFF REPORT
Villa Park’s Community Pride Commission is joining the Villa Park Environmental Concerns Commission to hold the 2021 Villa Park Spring Sweep recycling and shredding drop-off event from 9 a.m. to noon this Saturday, May 15. The drive-through Spring Sweep will take place on Home Avenue, near Villa Park Village Hall. Traffic will enter from Harvard Avenue, heading north, and exit onto Ardmore Avenue. Entrance onto Harvard from St. Charles Road will be prohibited during the event. Participants will recycle from the safety of their vehicles by driving to different stations on Home Avenue. Volunteers will collect and remove items from vehicles for disposal. Masks are required. Attendees are asked to remain in their vehicles at all times. Please load all items into your vehicle’s trunk or hatchback, if possible. Saturday’s event is free to Villa
Park residents, but a fee will apply for residents who drop off paint for recycling. While non-residents are welcome, they will have to pay additional fees for document shredding ($10) and electronics recycling ($20), in addition to the paint recycling fees. Accepted items include bicycles, hardcover and paperback books, used clothing and shoes, small appliances in working order, full and discharged fire extinguishers, old and tattered American flags, eyeglasses, hearing aids, paint, computers, monitors, printers, household batteries, digital cameras and cell phones. The document shredding offers a limit of three banker boxes per household. No stains, solvents, cleaning products or pesticides will be accepted. For more information, or to volunteer for the event, send an email to the village’s community pride commission at pride@invillapark.com.
Academic All-Stars at annual awards banquet
Montini Catholic High School in Lombard rolled out the red carpet on Wednesday, May 5, to honor members from its Class of 2021 as Academic All-Stars. Each year, the Lasallian college preparatory school invites seniors who have excelled academically throughout their high school years to a celebratory banquet in their honor. This year’s event was held at Bobak’s Signature Events in Woodridge. A total of 47 students achieved the honor of being named a Montini Catholic Academic All-Star, which involves attaining a grade-point average of 3.95 or greater and/or being named an Illinois State Scholar. So far, Montini Catholic’s Class of 2021 has earned over $18 million in academic scholarship offers.
Biden’s recent speech to Congress has 9,900 likes, and 17,000 dislikes. Biden and Harris supposedly attracted more than 80 million votes. There are YouTube videos of stray cats on the side of a road with more likes. *** Just finished reading an opinion by Newsweek’s Jason Rantz entitled “Violent Antifa Turn to New Tactic, Embrace Violent Insurgency.” It starts with, “After relentless attacks on police and a successful defund movement ...” If this article is even partially truthful, it will dispel the notion that Antifa is not an organization, but just an idea. Please, Google it using the information I just gave you. Seems Antifa is as much a threat to the U.S. as Trump is to the QAnon stupidity. (QAnonsense, as it was so well put.) *** I see that Florida is tightening restrictions on mail-in ballots. Voters will need a driver’s license, state ID number or last four digits of the
Social Security number, OK so far. Other restrictions include where the drop boxes are placed, but would be located for equal access. There will also be staff at the boxes. What is the problem here? I have to prove my identity for much less than casting a vote and with more forms of ID, and I think it’s ridiculous to say this targets minorities, whom I would think have any one of those forms of ID. I would have welcomed the election judges asking me to prove who I am, other than just comparing my signature. *** Maybe I should bide my time and go back to community college when tuition becomes free. I already have three college degrees, but what the heck, why not learn a new skill, at taxpayers’ expense? After all, that is where this free tuition will come from. Where does the Biden administration plan on getting the funds? What are they thinking?
Willowbrook seniors designated as 2021-22 State Scholars The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) recently announced its 2021-22 State Scholars, and 49 Willowbrook High School seniors have earned that honor. Willowbrook hosted a virtual event to recognize the honorees on April 26. The year designation given to State Scholars (2021-22 for this year’s honorees) applies to the year students will begin their post-secondary education. According to the commission, the State Scholar Program recognizes students for their outstanding academic performance. The honored students receive a certificate of achievement. Approximately the top 10 percent of graduates from approved high schools are announced as State Scholars each year. Standardized test scores and performance-based academic data reported by high schools are key factors in the formula used to determine eligibility for this recognition. The members of Willowbrook’s Class of 2021 who have been designated as State Scholars are: Kaitlyn Abbott, Saamiya Ali, Talha Ali, Tristan Alibudbud, Tanner Balsitis, Logan Bosco, Caitlin Brennan, Grace Burns, Matthew Burns, Gabriella Caruso, Sarah Fairbank, Thomas Florey, Thomas Goodman, Kyle Haake, Siobhan Heneghan, Jayannah Herdrich, Alondra Hernandez, Jacob Inoshita, Tyler King, Annemarie Knudtson, Weronika Kosciuk, Vivian Krone, Melissa Martinez, Elizabeth Martynenko, Jenna Meola, Amina Mirza, Hiba Mirza, Usman Mirza, Kelly Nava-Rivera, Michael Poirier, Grace Reckamp, Andrew Rugg, Ieva Sagaitis, Madeeha Sahar, Elizabeth Sanchez, Fatmir Shameti, Sean Shepherd, Mahira Shujathullah, Hiba Siddiqui, Isabelle Solis, Mia Sosa, Abigail Spada, Michael Stout, Grace Tumilty, Leila Vehabo-

Kerry Shields Foley left the Cincinnati area in the very early hours of April 26 to make a special trip to Elmhurst to wish a happy birthday to her father, Tom Shields, who lives at Park Place of Elmhurst. What made this visit a delicious surprise was that Kerry brought along gourmet doughnuts from Duck Donuts, a gift for each resident in honor of Tom’s 80th birthday. Like puzzles? Then
you’ll love sudoku. This mind-bending puzzle will have you hooked from the moment you square off, so sharpen your pencil and put your sudoku savvy to the test! Here’s How It Works: Sudoku puzzles are formatted as a 9x9 grid, broken down into nine 3x3 boxes. To solve a sudoku, the numbers 1 through 9 must fill each row, column and box. Each number can appear only once in each row, column and box. You can figure out the order in which the numbers will appear by using the numeric clues already provided in the boxes. The more numbers you name, the easier it gets to solve the puzzle!

Willowbrook’s offense comes to life against Hinsdale Central Warriors bash 16 hits, including three homers, in an 11-2 win
The Willowbrook softball team split a pair of games last week. Playing for the first time in seven days, the Warriors lost 7-3 at Downers Grove South in Friday’s West Suburban Gold Conference contest. One day later, Willowbrook earned an 11-2 win at Hinsdale Central. Saturday’s non-conference win over the Red Devils (of the West Suburban Silver Conference) lifted the Warriors’ overall season record to 3-4.
