It’s a nice blend.” Dreyer said the brides she works with more often than not want their groom to feel like the wedding is theirs too and they want to incorporate things that reflect his personality. For couples planning an outdoor wedding, Dreyer had some suggestions. First, make sure to have bug-repellant wipes available for all the guests. “I hate bug spray for weddings,” she said. “Wipes are more convenient and don’t smell as much. It’s really important to have enough for all the guests – if they’re getting eaten up; they’re going to leave. No one wants their guests to be miserable.” The other tip she has is to make sure there is plenty of good lighting during the evening hours. Specifically for the guests when they’re returning to their cars after the festivities are done. “Make sure that space is well lit,” Dreyer said. “I had one wedding in Whitewater where I suggested the favor be little flashlights so the guests could use them to get back to their cars.” Dreyer’s last words of advice were for couples that might be looking to hire a wedding planner. She said to find one sooner than later as their schedules fill up fast each summer.

Mason jars, burlap, wood are todays key décor items By

ason jars and burlap are the key ingredients to putting together the perfect décor for today’s budget-savvy brides looking for a rustic chic setting, said a Delavan florist. Treasure Hut co-owner Stacy Hermann said the popularity of country-style accessories that use mason jars, burlap and wood planks in designs for flowers, centerpieces and other decorations began about a few years ago when rustic chic hit the internet. “You see it all over Pinterest,” Hermann said. “It’s huge.” In the past two years, Hermann said, wedding locations have followed suit with a rustic appeal. “What I have noticed in just the last two years is venues popping up everywhere,” she said. “Taking a barn and completely renovating it and getting it ready to rent out for weddings because it is such a popular thing now.” The popularity of the rustic accouterments continues to fit in with the venues. Hermann said she serves a wedding every weekend that includes something with mason jars or burlap. A wood plank adorned with mason jars filled with flowers and a bud base has become a popular centerpiece, Hermann said. Add the country-style fabric, and the rustic-chic look is complete. “Burlap is huge for this,” she said. “It’s everywhere.” Hermann outfitted a wedding venue in May with long, reclaimed-wood tables, table runners made of burlap and lace and wood boxes for flowers. She said today’s brides no longer want over-the-top expensive elegance. “Gone are the days where they want to spend a bunch of money on elegance,” she said. “The words usually are ‘I’m looking for something simple yet beautiful.’ They want it to be homey where people can relax and have a good time.” To appeal to brides’ frugal side, Treasure Hut creates portable decorations and arrangements that can be moved from the ends of rows of seating during the ceremony to tables at the reception, for example. “We try to come up with ideas to carry throughout the day, so we’re not spending money on every area,” Hermann said. Shepherd’s hooks, typically used to hold hanging baskets of flowers, can be made lower and staked into the ground to line the aisle for outdoor weddings, she said. Treasure Hut hangs mason jars filled with flowers from

the Shepherd’s hooks during the ceremony then moves the jars to tables as centerpieces later. Hermann said the arrangement is ideal for budget-savvy brides who want flowers everywhere. She said the rustic-chic movement started with mason jars and exploded from there. The look is particularly popular with outdoor weddings. Bales of hay or straw placed outside and the use of wood to decorate are common, Hermann said. “Outdoor weddings are just huge especially in our area because we are such a destination area,” she said. She said 90 percent of the weddings she serves are for people from the Chicago area

who travel to the Southern Lakes area for the outdoor beauty that is close enough for their guests to travel to. Hermann said she has noticed brides wearing dresses with less poof and bling and more classic lace. “As with the whole theme of the wedding, a lot of it is very vintage,” she said. Hermann said she provided flowers for a wedding last year in which the bride was wearing a vintage dress that fit the bill of today’s classic chic style. “I was shocked,” she said. “It was her mother’s dress. It looked so modern. “They’re really trying to utilize old things for dresses too, It’s just a real simplistic look – a little bit of lace, not a lot of glitz.” BRIDAL GUIDE • WINTER/SPRING 2017

Barn venues offer flexibility for couples Simple elegance allows for a personal stamp on reception By

hen people consider what they want in a wedding, opinions differ on just what works. Dreams, budgets, family desires and timing all play a part in making a decision about not only how much to spend, but where to have a wedding. For Renee Richter, who runs The Rustic Barn and recently opened The Landing 1841, barn weddings are appealing because they offer a blank slate. “Couples are able to add their own personal style and touches to make their events really stand out,” Richter said, adding that Pinterest has helped fuel the interest. “(Barns) are timeless and who doesn’t have fond memories and love a trip to the country?” The Rustic Barn, at W212 Spring Prairie Road in Burlington, came first for Richter. In fact, she and her husband, Tim, weren’t exactly looking for another venue when the location of The Landing – at 3640 Bieneman Road – opened up. “The whole property itself, you walk on there, and you feel peaceful,” Richter said. “And the barn is so much bigger than it looks from the outside. “And how it’s positioned, right there on the peninsula,” she added. Both facilities have room for the wedding service and reception – and, according to Richter, the ability to keep everyone on site for the entire day. “People are here for an extended period of time,” Richter said, explaining that there is no need to bide the time between the wedding and the reception, sometimes as much as two hours after a wedding in a church and the reception. The Rustic Barn offers a separate building for the bridal party to prepare, and the barn has a large, covered cement porch for the service. Inside the barn, exposed wood works in unison with fancy chandeliers, and every

couple that comes can do what they want for decorations. “I think people wanted to break away, too,” said Richter about wedding parties trying something different. “From the more formal, banquet ballrooms. We get a lot of compliments here. Guests like to be outside.” The Rustic Barn and The Landing – work with preferred caterers and drink services, including several restaurants in Burlington. The offerings vary from Italian to plated formal dinners.

Richter stressed the barn setting offers just about something for everyone. The idea, she said, is to draw couples out of the city and into a country setting. “I think more couples wanted a more natural setting,” Richter said. “The barn itself has a lot of natural ambience. You don’t have to do a lot of decorating.” Richter’s two options aren’t the only ones in the area. The Farm at Dover is located close to Interstate 94, and other barns are available at places like Old World Wisconsin. BRIDAL GUIDE • WINTER/SPRING 2017

Wedding gifts for grooms – tradition brides shouldn’t ignore The answer is – yes, it’s expected. But it’s also a chance for all you brides out there to truly show you know that not everything is about you on your wedding day. That there really is another person involved (that would be the groom) who deserves a bit of recognition, too. We’re talking wedding presents – specifically, yours to your husband-to-be. Tradition does, indeed, hold that both you and he ex-change gifts. And while it’s true that some guys are initially shocked to learn your engagement ring doesn’t also count as a “present,” that’s no excuse for you to waver. “Giving him something that’s just for him will make him feel really special,” advises BrideBox.com. Here’s what you need to know now that it’s prime time for weddings:

There’s a thin line between “romantic” and “mushy” Some of you may be tempted to compile a “love notes” journal of every bit of correspondence you’ve ever sent your groom. Even assuming he’s the type who wouldn’t consider that a bit “over the top,” there’s always the chance he might be left wondering, “Okay, where’s my real present?” – especially if his gift to you is a serious piece of jewelry.

When to exchange them Etiquette dictates that the hand-off occurs at one of three times – the night before the wedding, the morning of the ceremony, or right before leaving on your honeymoon. Think it’s bad luck to see the groom before the nuptials? “Many couples choose to The consensus choice Southern Lakes Bridal Guide_7.25_4.8.pdf 1 12/13/2016 PM a reason a watch invariably courier gifts via bridesmaids or groomsmen 2:16:46 There’s just before the ceremony,” says Brides.com. makes everyone’s short list – it’s the

perfect statement of who he is or aspires to be. (It’s also a lot more impressive than a flask, which for some reason also gets a few votes). No less a taste arbiter than MarthaStewartWeddings.com favors Baume & Mercier’s Clifton line – as elegant as the original 1950s model that inspired it – for the way it “easily transitions from big day to every day.” Like the Swiss watchmaker’s timelessly charming (and affordably luxurious) Classima line, it comes with a choice of straps, dial faces and a variety of what’s known as “small complications” that go way beyond just telling the hour. You can shop them at the Baume & Mercier e-boutique or by calling (800) MERCIER, where free engraving and wrapping are available. Fun fact One writer at AskMen.com says he’s “heard of women giving their husbands watches in the ceremony instead of a wedding ring.” If so, the answer is – No, just like your engagement ring, that wouldn’t also qualify as a wedding present. Responsibilities

VARY FOR WEDDING PARTY PARTICIPANTS When asked to play a role in the wedding of a friend or family member, most people are honored and willing to do whatever it takes. That willingness to be helpful is often a blessing, as wedding party participants each have their own unique responsibilities.

MAID OF HONOR AND BEST MAN

The maid of honor and best man are counterparts in the wedding. The bride and groom’s right hand woman and man, respectively, the maid of honor and best man are often siblings or very close friends of the bride or groom. Though their responsibilities are similar, the maid of honor and best man don’t have completely identical roles. The maid of honor might have the most responsibilities of anyone aside from the bride and groom. The maid of honor will help the bride shop for her dress and must also plan the bridal shower and the bachelorette party. The maid of honor’s duties also extend to the wedding day itself, when she will be expected to help the bride get dressed and toast the new bride at the reception that night. The best man’s role includes organizing the bachelor party and toasting the groom at the reception. The best man also plays a logistical role, organizing the newlyweds’ transportation to the airport the morning after the wedding as well as organizing the groomsmen’s gift to the couple.

groom and how much help is needed the day of the ceremony.

FLOWER GIRL AND RING BEARER

The flower girl and the ring bearer are typically very young members of the family, such as very young siblings or a niece or nephew of the bride or groom. The flower girl will carry a basket of flowers during the wedding procession, often tossing flower petals on the ground to signify the bride’s entrance. The ring bearer is a boy and carries a pillow with the rings sewn on it during the wedding procession.

PARENTS

The bride and groom’s parents play the role of hosts. The tradition of the bride’s parents paying for the wedding entirely by themselves has largely

fallen by the wayside thanks to the escalating costs of throwing a wedding. However, if the bride’s parents are footing the bill, then they will typically act as hosts of the wedding. In that instance, the groom’s parents will host the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. During the ceremony, the bride is most often walked down the aisle by her father, though some brides choose to have both parents included in the walk down the aisle. The groom’s parents will often walk down the aisle ahead of the procession and take their seats. The parents may also play a role in the months leading up to the wedding. For instance, the mother of the bride might help plan the bridal shower, while the father of the groom might help plan any activities, such as a golf outing, for the groomsmen and additional friends of the groom a day or two before the wedding. (METRO CREATIVE)

BRIDESMAIDS AND GROOMSMEN

The role of the bridesmaids and groomsmen are similar. Bridesmaids and groomsmen are often the siblings or close friends of the bride and groom, and they accompany each other down the aisle during the wedding procession. Typically, the role of bridesmaid and groomsmen is to offer any assistance in making the ceremony go smoothly. Groomsmen may act as ushers, while bridesmaids might help address wedding invitations and choose vendors for the ceremony and reception. How involved the bridesmaids and groomsmen become is often contingent on how close they live to the bride and BRIDAL GUIDE • WINTER/SPRING 2017

The perfect fit

Finding the right look for the wedding dress is crucial Few wardrobe decisions are scrutinized as much as a bride-to-be’s choice of wedding gown. Finding the perfect gown that flatters the future bride’s figure while stunning her guests and soon-to-be husband is a labor of love for many brides. The Bridal Association of America estimates a bride-to-be will spend between $1,500 and $2,000 total on her gown, veil and accessories. Here is a look of some of the common types of gown silhouettes and why choosing this shape might be right for you.

BALLGOWN

A ballgown dress is truly a classic style, evoking images of fairy tale princesses. With a fitted bodice and full skirt that flairs at the waist, this silhouette is usually good for all body types. The ballgown style may not be ideal for petite women, as the skirt may overwhelm their figures.

A-LINE

Another silhouette very forgiving or

appropriate for many body types is the A-line gown. A-line cut dresses should be the goto style for anyone looking to minimize perceived flaws. The cut of the dress will fit to the waist and gradually fan out from the hips to form the outline of an uppercase “A.” When in doubt, A-line gowns are classic and sensible and a favorite among brides.

TRUMPET

Women who prefer something a little more form-fitting may select a trumpet silhouette. This dress is fitted through the body and then the gown flares out at midthigh level.

MERMAID

A bit more fitted than the trumpet, this silhouette is close to the body from the chest down to the knee. The skirt then flares out slightly by the knee. Tall, thin women generally look best in this type of gown.

MODIFIED A-LINE

A balance between a traditional A-line

and a more fitted gown, the modified A-line does not flare out as much. But it does flare out enough from the waist to hide areas around the hips and thighs. This is another good choice for a wide array of figures.

SHEATH

Lean brides who want simplicity in their gowns can opt for a sheath silhouette. The narrow shape of the gown from the neckline to the hem will definitely accentuate the (METRO CREATIVE) body shape.

Five tips for perfect wedding photos

Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion – something to be celebrated and cherished. Planning it, on the other hand, can feel as if you’re preparing for war – between ensuring that Uncle Sal isn’t sitting next to his brother, who owes him money, to budgeting for every-thing you want and need. The one thing you don’t want to skimp on is the memories. Which is why choosing your photographer is one of the biggest decisions you will make. To help ensure that you get the most romantic photos of your fairytale day, Professional Photographers of America, a 29,000-plusmember association, offers these suggestions:

Express yourself

What kind of photos do you like? Do they tend toward the journalistic or is your style more whimsical, classical, or romantic? Whatever your style, be clear

with your photographer so that he or she can capture your personality.

Say yes to the dress

It starts and ends with this iconic garment. What will make you feel like the bride you’ve always dreamed of being? Is it a flowing sundress, a formal gown complete with train and veil? Or maybe your idea is more modern and it’s a strapless dress, in a color other than white. Whatever it is, dare to wear your dream dress.

Buy the shoes? Or not

Carrie Bradshaw knows shoes. And you should too. Will you walk down the aisle in stilettos or kitten heels? Maybe cowboy boots are more your style? Can’t decide? Then leave the shoes at home, and feel free to walk barefoot.

Rejoice in style

Your wedding day isn’t just a ceremony, it’s a celebration that brings all your family and friends together (for better or worse), and pictures of this memorable party are a great way to inject your own sense of style. Be it a backyard BBQ, a tail gate at your favorite stadium, or a formal dinner, pictures of this event are a must-have.

Decide on your ride

Some people prefer to be whisked away by horse and carriage as if they were Cinderella herself. Others prefer luxury limos and cars as their modern equivalent. For the unique free spirits of the world, maybe a motorcycle is more your thing. Either way, a great photo op awaits as you leave your wedding. FOOD IS THE STAR AT

Sophisticatering BUT THE PERSONAL SERVICE ISN’T FAR BEHIND by Sandra Landen Machaj CORRESPONDENT

In 1992 Matt and Annette Flynn established a catering business in Kenosha that offers customers a very different choice in the types of food that can be served at their social parties – whether they are wedding receptions, business meetings, anniversaries, family reunions or any other gathering where guests expect to receive high quality foods. Matt began working in kitchens at the age of 14 doing anything that needed to be done and advancing in his profession until he achieved the status of executive chef at the Country Inn in Pewaukee. Then it was time for Annette and Matt to strike out on their own and thus Sophisticatering was born. The plan was to focus on fresh, madefrom-scratch foods using fine quality green and organic ingredients. They purchased the building at 8048 Sheridan Road, Kenosha, SUBMITTED PHOTO Bridal Guide Ready for dessert? It is rather ironic when visiting Sophisticatering to notice this business – which focuses on healthy and organic foods – is tucked between two fast food restaurants, the very antithesis of the healthy style of eating that is encouraged by Sophisticatering.

F NATURAL INGREDIENTS Sophisticatering is not the traditional catering company that uses a variety of processed and previously prepared foods that are defrosted and heated. “Our plan was to offer a healthy and flavorful change from catering companies that use chemicalized and over-processed foods,” Annette said. “We are a green caterer, which means that all our foods are either organic or all natural. Our meats are always USDA choice or prime cuts. We never use any lower grades of meats. Our seafood is wild caught or if it is necessary to purchase farm raised we only accept fish or seafood raised on carefully tended farms raised without the use of hormones or colorings.” It is easy to see the passion both Annette and Matt put into their catering company. On a tour through their kitchen, Matt pointed out the entire wall of ovens to prepare foods.

Under a large tent, this attractive buffet table with fresh organic vegetables attracts guests at an outdoor event.

“Everything we serve is made from scratch including all the sauces, soups, and salad dressings, which are prepared the day of the event,” he said. “Even all the sausage served is made on site, never purchased. The sausages are made with USDA choice or prime cuts of meat and seasoned with

fresh herbs and spices.” He went on to add that some of the herbs are grown by the Flynns. Poultry is often a favorite choice for catered dinners as most people enjoy it and it fits in their diet plans. If chicken is chosen for the main course, you can rest

assured that the poultry used has been raised under free-range conditions and their diet consisted of naturally grown food without growth hormones.

F FRESH-BAKED BREAD Matt said all the bread and rolls used are baked that day. “They usually come out of the oven at 2 p.m. for an evening reception,” he added. As the discussion turned to desserts the Flynns again emphasized that not only are the breads and rolls baked from scratch so are all the desserts. These, too, are made from the finest quality flours, whole grains, pure vanilla that has been made in house, butter and sugar. Matt mentioned that one of their popular desserts is the s’mores bar, a favorite especially at outdoor venues. Most would assume that he used prepared marshmallows, but he pulled out a pan to show that he actually makes his own marshmallows. “Commercially prepared marshmallows contain blue dye and since we don’t use anything with dyes, we have to make our own,” he said. The homemade marshmallows have a little different look as Matt slices them in squares rather than the round shape used in commercial marshmallows.

F TAKING IT ON THE ROAD As any chef is excited about his stoves, ovens and grills, Matt is no exception. That equipment includes a very large grill, which is pulled by truck, and can be taken to any venue as needed. The grill is often taken to sites especially for outdoor events.

SUBMITTED PHOTO Bridal Guide

Annette and Matt Flynn are photographed with their 10 children, ranging in age from 4 to 20. Some of the older children help with setup for the events.

They also have a large smoker, which is portable to take onsite, and is usually popular with the men attending the event. “You can see them wishing they had one for their outdoor cooking,” said Matt. These items along with a refrigerated truck and a heated truck make it possible for the freshly prepared foods to be transported to the venue and arrive in

prime condition. Many foods are partially cooked then transported to the venue where cooking is completed in the venue’s kitchen and if that isn’t available the grill and smoker travel with them. Their policy of providing fresh and locally produced green or organic produce and meats affects not only their business, but it also extends into their family life. As the parents of 10 children between the ages of 4 and 20, teaching them to eat healthy foods for optimum health is a priority. Not only do they provide healthy and tasty foods, but their buffet tables are beautiful to look at. They have a wide array of chafing dishes and other servers and using their artistic talent always provide a beautiful table. Linens are available for the tables in a variety of colors to suit an array color schemes.

F HOLIDAY DEMAND Around the holiday season, Sophisticatering finds itself busier than ever. In addition to the usual wedding receptions, there are corporate parties, family gatherings, including family reunions, and smaller parties like showers, baptisms, and anniversary parties. Considering a holiday gathering next year? Check with Sophisticatering for the possibility of having it catered. When holding a large event there are many choices to be made aside from the SUBMITTED PHOTO Bridal Guide food itself. First a venue must be chosen. If There is always a choice of a buffet, family style meals or the traditional plated customers do not have a space in mind, Matt dinner when Sophisticatering prepares the food. and Annette can help them locate the perfect venue for the size, style and budget of the event. Their primary areas of service include Kenosha, Racine, Burlington, Walworth County, Lake Geneva, Milwaukee, Waukegan, and Lake County in Illinois. The type of event, the venue in which it will be held, and the type of food service that is the dream of the hosts are all important in choosing the style of service and the choice of foods. According to Annette there are three basic styles of service – buffet style, family style, and plated sit-down dinners. No matter what the style chosen, the same fine quality and attention to detail will be given to the presentation. “Sometimes a combination of styles may be used,” Annette said. “An appetizer buffet or a buffet with appetizers and salad may begin the meal. Then the guests will sit down for a family style main course or a plated dinner.” Any style of service desired can be accomplished, she said. One of the most popular venues for wedding receptions in the summer are barns. There are several barn venues in the area. Many of these outdoor parties or weddings have various themes. Imagine a Harley-Davidson themed wedding? If motorcycles are an important part of your ELEBRATE HAPPILY EVER life this may be a choice.

Sophisticatering offers a large number of menu choices, which can be viewed on their website. They are open to working with brides to devise a menu of their choice. Allergies a problem? Matt and Annette are knowledgeable about food allergies and sensitivities and are happy to make accommodations to meet the needs of the client and their guests. Not only are traditional catering foods available, but ethnic foods can also be prepared. Tell them what you would like and they will work with you to serve it. In addition to the high quality foods available, personal service is another reason to plan an event here. When customers contact them it is Annette or Matt that will be available to speak with them. The Flynns never book more than two events at the same time so that either Matt or Annette can be there throughout the event to handle small problems before they become large ones. 24 BRIDAL GUIDE • WINTER/SPRING 2017

Weddings are filled with many emotions – happiness, excitement and anticipation, to name a few. With all of the positive emotions a wedding may drum up, in the mix there may be a few negative ones, including feelings of being overwhelmed at all the details that need to be completed on a deadline. One aspect of wedding planning that tends to send people into panic is wedding reception-seating arrangements. The thought of having 200 friends and family members together under one roof -– and then attempting to seat them next to an acceptable group of people – can cause some couples to hyperventilate. Every family has its ups and downs, and there are certain people who get along well and a few who clash. Ensuring that a wedding is memorable for all the right reasons (and not for the brawl at table

YOUR WEDDING GUESTS

three) is why seating arrangements are so important. Many couples can use a little advice when seating guests, while others would love another person to handle the seating arrangements for them. Here are some guidelines for setting up reception seating arrangements. • Place yourselves as well as the bridal party, at a separate table that is in a prime location in the room. Be sure to allow the spouses or dates of bridal party members at the same table so couples remain together. • Some couples choose to seat both sets of parents at one table together – the parents’ table. Grandparents may also be seated at this table, depending on the number of people each table can accommodate. • If children under the age of 7 are invited, they should be seated with their parents. Children between ages 7 and 14 can be seated at a separate kids’ table. • Be mindful of guests with disabilities

or mobility issues. Seat them close to the door, bathrooms or food station. • Instead of separating the bride and the groom’s family to separate sides, intermingle the tables to promote conversation. • Consider arranging guests by common interests at each table, seating business associates or parents’ friends together. • Take into consideration people who have relationship rifts and try to seat them separately. But don’t stress about this too much because it won’t be possible to accommodate everyone. You’ll have to hope that at your wedding a certain level of decorum will preside. • It’s not unheard of to let guests seat themselves. This takes the pressure of finding a seat for everyone off of you as a couple and enables you to think about the other tasks at hand. This can take place at a buffet wedding or a smaller affair. Honeymoon planning made easy Take your time Give yourself a full day between the wedding and embarking on your trip. Scenes of couples being whisked away to the airport right after the reception dwindles down are commonplace. But that doesn’t mean you need to leave right after the final dance. Allow some breathing room to pack, deposit wedding gifts, return tuxedoes, and tackle any other post-wedding tasks. Save the romantic “first night” as a couple for the honeymoon and enjoy a well-deserved night’s sleep.

Weddings are one-of-a-kind occasions. Weddings also tend to be stressful, even for the most laid-back people. But a honeymoon gives the couple a chance to enjoy uninterrupted moments together and serves as a way to recuperate from the months and sometimes years of wedding planning. Honeymoons are a beloved wedding tradition, and some couples even combine their weddings and honeymoons by opting for a destination wedding. Because the honeymoon should be a way to unwind on a dream vacation, booking the honeymoon and setting an itinerary should not add to the pressure of planning, and the following tips should make planning a honeymoon a snap. Research your destination Learn all you can about a destination before booking your honeymoon. Study the weather for the time of year you will be on your honeymoon, and learn about currency exchange, local rules and regulations and other pertinent factors to determine the best places to visit. You do not want to be met with surprises that might compromise your trip upon arriving to your honeymoon destination.

(METRO CREATIVE)

Book well in advance The sooner you choose your destination, the faster you can begin the process of applying for passports, visas or other necessary documents. Booking early also guarantees you better seats on the flight and the ability to negotiate pricing.

Purchase travel insurance One way to alleviate the stress of planning a wedding is to ensure your honeymoon investment is protected in the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Travel insurance is a safety net that can come in handy. Speak with a travel agent or insurance agent about how to secure travel insurance for the honeymoon. Pack light Don’t burden yourself down with a lot of belongings. Chances are you’ll pick up new things and mementos on the trip, and packing light makes traversing airports that much easier.
