Letter From the President Each spring, I make sure I get out to a ballgame at Miller Park. This year, I went to a Brewers/Cubs match-up. With my roots on both sides of The Cheddar Curtain, it’s pretty much a win for me no matter which team ends up with the W. It’s that way for shoppers in the Waterford area in early spring. Here’s what I mean: It’s the start of golf season, but even if you’re not a player, retailers have golf sales. Even the on-course or near-course restaurants run specials. Because it’s spring. You’re not a mother? You have one and know a few and special offers abound around Mother’s Day for everyone. May and June are when retail and service spending warms up right along with the temperatures and all shoppers for goods and services benefit. The six weeks between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day is more than a boon for brunches and pro shops. Add into this unique marketing season graduations and the first pitches of youth baseball and softball leagues. And not to be forgotten: Wedding season is also upon us… a fact definitely not lost on me this year. The May/June stretch, rain or shine, is a reliable, steady spring excuse to reach out to all the retailers in the Waterford area because their specials aren’t just for Dads, Grads and Brides-To-Be.
