THE BROTHERS REED The year 2020 proved to be a trying time for musicians. But The Brothers Reed refused to wait out the chaos, according to Aaron Reed. Instead, the band forged ahead by performing Livestream concerts, playing small private shows for supportive friends and fans, and creating a host of online content through their YouTube series, “The Quarantine Sessions.” “Touring was off the table for most of

2020, so we had to innovate, pivot and evolve,” Reed said. One thing that didn’t change in 2020 was the Rogue Valley’s love for The Brothers Reed, as this is their fourth win in a row. “We feel very grateful to be recognized by our local fans, especially in a valley that has a slew of artists who are phenomenal,” Reed said. “We love it here, and we are so blessed to call Southern Oregon home.”

It’s not uncommon to see the Britt hillside play host to headline entertainers the same day that local grade-schoolers dance and learn about musical instruments from professional musicians. “The popular BrittKids Koncerts series appeals to young music buffs, who will one day return as adults excited to hear their favorite performers at this beloved venue,” he said. “Our community programs have developed over time through wonderful community support. Most of our education programs were virtual again this year, as we continue to connect with the community through music. We can’t wait to do so in person. Music is a key element to healing our communities after the challenges of the past two years.”

Common Block has renovated its outdoor courtyard in the last year to offer guests ample outdoor seating year-round. “We now have a permanent ordering station, bench seating, picnic tables, heaters and cornhole court,” Koning said.
