Armstrong Named New BOE Member By Marla Jones Managing Editor

RAINSVILLE, Ala.-- On Tuesday evening, the DeKalb County Board of Education named Kelly Armstrong as their new District 2 Board Member. Armstrong will fill the remainder of Chris Andrews’s term. Andrews announced in a special called meeting earlier in the month that he would be resigning from his position to become Principal at Guntersville High School. The DeKalb County Board of Education accepted applications for Andrew’s replacement. The Board had a time limit to find a replacement to fill Andrew’s term or the State Board of Education would have appointed his
replacement. District 2 covers Fyffe and Geraldine High School. Kelly Armstrong is married to Vickie Armstrong. The couple has two children, Bret age 23, a graduate of Geraldine and Jacksonville State University, and a daughter, Kristen age 18, who is a senior at Geraldine High School.
