Mayor Larry Chesser and Council President Brian Baine could not confirm on record the deal between the chain restaurant and the City of Fort Payne. Southern Torch will update as more information becomes available.

COLLINSVILLE, Ala. — Mr. Jeremy Glenn Bell, 45 of Collinsville, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the Henagar Cemetery. Bell was active in law enforcement for the past twenty years. He served on the Sylvania and Collinsville Police Force along with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office during his career. “The passing of Jeremy Bell is so sad! I’ve known Jeremy for over 20 years, and he has always had a huge caring heart as long as I knew him. Just last week we talked about church and some old-time policing. One story, in particular, we always talked about, was when Jeremy worked for the Sylvania Police Department and I worked for the State Parks. One night we got into a pursuit together and chased a car for 45 minutes and the guy ran all the way to Scottsboro and actually pulled into a parking spot at the Jackson County Jail, stated DeKalb County Sheriff, Nick Welden. “It was just one of the craziest, scariest and funniest pursuits I’ve ever been part of, and one I’ll definitely never forgot! Just like Jeremy, I will never forget him, and the times he has
