runoff, a candidate had to have 113 votes. On Tuesday, September 1, the Geraldine Town Council met to certify their election and open provisional ballots. Due to all seven (7) of the town’s provisional ballots being disallowed by the
DeKalb County Board of Registrars, the tie between Rooks and Satterfield remained firm. The following candidates were duly elected to the Geraldine Town Council last week and will take office in November: Tim Gilbert
(194 votes), Tony Taylor (187 votes), Larry “Punch Lingerfelt (176 votes), and Scott Tarrant (176 votes). Mayor Chuck Ables secured another term in office unopposed. The runoff election will be held on Tuesday, October 6.
