to the South Kesteven Summer activities brochure for 2017. It has been produced by SKDC’s Leisure and Amenities Team and provides information on a range of activities for young people during the summer holidays in and around the district.There are lots of activities on offer, many at reduced prices. We hope there is something for everyone! For more details and to book see the information below each activity. Trunk, Tail, Ears or Wings? Carnival creates itself from all sorts of things! This is “Carnival of the Animals” but not as we know it. Dissected for body part potential to create the “ultimate animal” we take inspiration from the music by Camille Saint-Saëns, a little help from Charles Darwin and a whole lot of cardboard to mash up a show full of puppet possibility.

Have you ever fancied creating your own Hogwarts style character and following in the footsteps of Harry, Ron and Hermione? This week long opportunity will include drama and dance sessions aimed at developing performance skills, leading towards a short performance for family and friends at the end of the week. SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK - A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM MJH PRODUCTIONS FUNDED BY HLF AND BIG LOTTERY FUND TAKE PLACE IN WYNDHAM PARK, GRANTHAM

Enjoy an evening of unique and wonderful open air Shakespeare theatre performed by some of the most talented students in Lincolnshire. This contemporary and enchanting production from the producer of recent school editions of Les Misérables and Miss Saigon will be set in woodland in Wyndham Park and provide the perfect backdrop to performances of this mysterious and comical classic. An HLF and BIG Lottery Fund event, it will also be a great opportunity to picnic in the picturesque park. Gates open 45 minutes prior to performance starting. A fresh new initiative to grab a racket, head onto court for a game of badminton and make some new friends. FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT AND FUN DAYS

INSPIRE+ OLYMPIC SPORTS CAMP

Whether you are looking for child care or for some great activities your child will love, our summer Holiday Clubs are ideal.

All days are open to children between the ages of 4 to 14years, regardless of their ability. If your child is a beginner or a more experienced player we will ensure they all have FUN and leave with a sense of achievement! The sessions will be led by specialist staff who are football league coaches or scouts! We have been rated outstanding for a number of years by parents for our holiday camps.

Try Olympic and paralympic sports. Each day is fully structured with high quality coaching and competitions. Inspire+ is a locally based sports charity providing sport for local schools and the community. The Olympic Sports Camp is a fantastic chance for children who want to be physically active and to experience a wide variety of sports.

We provide children with the perfect creative haven to paint, draw, collage, cut, stick, transform, laugh, imagine, create, experiment, and make new friends. The Bourne Corn Exchange and South Kesteven Acting and Musical Players are proud to present this fun and magical family pantomime - BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Handsome Prince Christophe is placed under an enchantment by the wicked witch, Malabelle. Doomed to live as a Beast for all eternity unless he can win a loving kiss which leads to wedded bliss. To save her mother’s life, the village beauty, Rose, goes to live with the Beast in his fantastical Castle. After a scary start, the two become friends and slowly grow closer… This will be a traditional family pantomime and promises to be a real Christmas treat.

ROOKIE CRASH COURSE Sadly most drownings in the UK occur in the summer months where in the hotter weather people, children especially, fail to recognize the dangers open water and the sea can present – would your child recognise these dangers? Our Rookie lifeguard crash course will teach children to recognize and look out for the dangers the sea and open water can present and teach them essential skills which will help them to keep safe and even save a life. Skills will include shout and signal rescues, basic CPR and the recovery position and other lifesaving techniques. Date: 21– 23 August Times: 9am – 9.45am Age: Suitable for children aged 8 and over and equivalent to stage 6 upwards Cost: £22.50. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

ACTIVE KIDS 1Life, working in partnership with South Kesteven District Council, would like to introduce a new, fully funded scheme called ‘Active Kids’. The 12 week programme is designed to promote a healthy, active lifestyle among children within South Kesteven through the delivery of high quality youth fitness programs and nutritional advice. By offering increased opportunities for physical activity among children, we hope to inspire an early interest of sports and fitness that will provide a foundation for a healthy way of life.
