Work continues in downtown Wheatley

WHEATLEY — Demolition and excavation work continued through last week in Wheatley and word was that on the weekend, several more evacuated residents were able to access their homes and take some items with them.

Photos revealed the demolition work had razed MJ’s Pizza and the remainder of the Pogue building. Excavation was underway later in the week as crews removed the debris and began the tedious process of examining what’s underground.

The investigation is still ongoing.
