Deer Run crash prompts charges

LEAMINGTON – On Thursday, December 16 at approximately 6:09 p.m., Leamington OPP and Essex-Windsor EMS responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Deer Run Road at County Road 37 in the Municipality of Leamington.

The vehicle struck the guard rail on Deer Run Road and came to rest in the front yard of a residence. The lone occupant of the vehicle was arrested and transported to a local hospital as a precaution. The driver was cleared of any injuries and then was transported to the Leamington OPP Detachment for a breath test.

The car came to rest on its side in a front yard.

As a result, police have charged a 61-year-old Leamington woman with operation while impaired (alcohol) and for having a blood alcohol concentration of 80-plus. She will appear in court at a later date.
