Greenway Jam Fills Kingsville With Music

A large contingent of Canadian musical acts filled the air in Kingsville with some great music this past weekend at the Greenway Jam taking place in the south end of town.

The Greenway Jam was presented by the Kingsville Music Society and is a change from the annual Kingsville Folk Music Festival which ran annually at Lakeside Park.

This year, event organizers decided to take the music to the Chrysler Canada Greenway so people could move about and listen to lots of music at their leisure.

Steven Page kicked off his set with his 1998 Barenaked Ladies hit, “It’s All Been Done” on Saturday night.

The Saturday night headliner, Steven Page, put on a great show when he took the main stage at Kingsville Brewery on Park Street, mixing many of his Barenaked Ladies hits with his own solo music along the way.

Award-winning East Coast fiddler Ashley MacIsaac wowed the crowds Saturday night with several of his songs, accompanied by guitarist Kyle Waymouth.

He was preceded by East Coast fiddling sensation Ashley MacIsaac, who wowed the crowd with several fiddle songs in typical Ashley McIsaac fashion.

Kathleen Edwards was the headliner Friday night and she entertained the crowd with many of her more popular songs.

Friday’s headliner, Katheleen Edwards, played all of her popular songs and showed why she is considered one of Canada’s top singer-songwriters.

Several other acts performed on the main stage and also at smaller stages set up at Mettawas Station, Grove Brewery, Grovedale House Community Hall and Pelee Island Winery.

“The Kingsville Music Society is thankful to our volunteers, guests, sponsors, venues and partners for the magical weekend of music,” said organizer Michele Law. “Perfect weather and capacity crowds!”
