FAMILY DISPLACED BY FIRE

Leamington Fire Service crews responded to a house fire in the 2400 block of Deer Run Road — near Wheatley Harbour — on Wednesday, March 16.

On arrival, flames were visible from the east side second story windows with heavy smoke coming from the west side windows.

Fire crews conducted a defensive attack from the east side first.

Working smoke alarms notified the occupants of the fire in the home.

The occupants went to the second floor to extinguish the fire but were pushed back by the smoke.

Fire crews were able to gain entry once the fire was knocked down to do salvage and overhaul, and also were able to remove pictures and other personal property for the homeowner.
