Harassment complaint at Chatham-Kent

CHATHAM-KENT — An investigation last week into harassment allegations against a high-level Chatham-Kent employee is still ongoing, according to the municipality.

“The Municipality does not discuss investigations involving specific employees as it would violate the confidentiality of complainants and respondents,” said a news release.

“Whenever the municipality receives a complaint, it is taken seriously and appropriately investigated,” added CAO Don Shropshire.

“The Municipality is guided by its responsibilities as an employer under various pieces of legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Human Rights Code and the Municipal Freedom of information and Protection of Privacy Act,” said Shropshire.
