Tiessen Foundation raises $100,000

On Thursday, September 8, the HL Tiessen Foundation presented four local charities with proceeds from its annual Charity Golf Tournament.

The tournament was held on July 7 at the Kingsville Golf and Country Club with 144 golfers participating in the tournament.

Corporate sponsors and donors supported the tournament in the efforts to raise funds for local causes. The HL Tiessen Foundation is a local charity and not-for-profit foundation which supports local charities serving the needs of the local community.

The Foundation exceeded its fundraising goal for 2022 with a total of $100,000 that was distributed to Southwestern Ontario Gleaners, Erie Shores HealthCare Foundation, UMEI Christian High School and The Bridge.

The fundraising efforts have grown, thanks to donors and supporters, from $48,000 raised in 2020 to $100,000 raised in 2022.

Linda Tiessen, Foundation Chair, graciously thanked the four charities for the ongoing community support. She also noted that the foundation has no administration costs, allowing all funds raised to be donated.

A great network of volunteers and donors at their major fundraising golf event made it possible to exceed their expectations.
