Sleeping Out at The Bridge will take place starting at 6 p.m. Friday, April 26 at the centre’s 310 Sherk Street address. There, participating teams and individuals will spend the night outdoors to gain firsthand experience with the day-today struggles of local homeless youths while raising funds to support programming at The Bridge. Anyone interested in participating in the fundraiser can contact The Bridge at 226-773-3454 or sleepingout@thebridgeyouth.ca The organization’s website — www.thebridgeyouth.ca — includes a link to the event at the top of the main page, from which interested teams and individuals can make donations or register as participants. Bagging groceries for Cop Camp KINGSVILLE – From right to left, Essex County OPP Constable Curtis Warren, Constable Silvano Bertoni, Detective-Constable Jeff Weglarz and Constable Mike Baker volunteer their time to bag customers’ groceries at Zehrs in Kingsville Thursday, April 18. Each year, a team of Essex County OPP officers, auxiliary officers, civilian employees and volunteers bag groceries for customers at various stores throughout Essex County in exchange for donations to help fund the upcoming Cop Camp. This year, the Zehrs stores in Kingsville and Tecumseh participated. This year’s Cop Camp will be the 25th annual event of its kind, to be hosted by Gesstwood Camp in Essex for selected Grade 6 students hailing from OPP-served communities in Essex County. This year, 90 students will participate in the week-long series of activities and programs. Each year, the grocerybagging event takes place the day before Good Friday — the busiest day of the year for most local food retailers. This year’s fundraiser included draws for gift baskets and ‘swag’ giveaways at both locations in exchange for donations. (Southpoint Sun Photo)

LEAMINGTON – The Together As Caring Communities Walk/Run will be held in Leamington at Seacliff Park from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 28. This year, in partnership with Autism Ontario WindsorEssex Chapter, the hope is to exceed last year’s results and continue to bring the communities together. Autism Ontario is the leading source of information and referral on autism and is one of the largest collective voices representing the autism community. Members are connected through a volunteer network of Chapters throughout the province of Ontario. Freddy’s Run for JDRF continues to grow By Bryan Jessop

LEAMINGTON — The support of runners and sponsors was greatly appreciated, but cooperation from Mother Nature didn’t go unnoticed either. The annual Freddy’s Run For Diabetes was only slightly on the chilly side at Point Pelee National Park and then leaning heavily towards the ‘chili’ side at Freddy’s Restaurant once the annual fundraiser for the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation concluded. The 112 runners and walkers that registered for the sixth annual JDRF fundraiser was a significantly larger turnout than the sum from last year, which was greeted by heavy wind and rain. Although proceeds will likely be tabulated for another three to four weeks, Freddy’s Run For Diabetes organizer Mike Makhlouf exThe 5 km run begins at Point Pelee National Park to kick off the sixth annual Freddy’s Run For Diabetes Saturday, April 13. plained that the group hopes to exceed last year’s output of Participants chose between a 5 km run, 5 km walk, 10 km run or the Kids’ Dash in support of the Junior Diabetes Research just over $8,000. We want to see this grow year by year — hopefully, it’s becoming contagious.” Although the final net figure won’t likely be available for weeks to come, Mike Makhlouf noted that both participation numbers and sponsorship support have increased from last year. After the Kids’ Dash, the 5 km walk, 5 km run and 10 km run got underway just after 10 a.m. Awards for top male and top female participant were given in each category, with Paul Schockman of Kingsville taking top honours for the men in the 5 km run with a time of 18:11.1. Council defers Seniors Advisory Committee terms By Bryan Jessop

LEAMINGTON – Before a new seniors’ group is launched in Leamington, the mayor would like to see it hit the ground running. The Tuesday, April 9 Leamington municipal council meeting included a recommendation that terms on how the impending Seniors Advisory Committee will operate be accepted as filed in a report dated late last month. Mayor Hilda MacDonald requested that further discussion and a motion on the request be deferred until after she is able to meet with a former member of Windsor’s Senior Advisory Committee. Previously, during a discussion with Chartwell Leamington Retirement Residence retirement living consultant Melissa Bloomfield, MacDonald was encouraged to meet with retired Windsor SAC member Celia Southward. The mayor explained that Southward is knowledgeable with matters important to seniors and has experience writing and submitting grant applications for seniors’ programming. MacDonald emphasized that the delay before addressing the report on Leamington’s SAC will be minimal. “It’ll be something done as quickly as possible, before Seniors’ Month (June),” she noted. “There’s quite a bit (of funding) out there for different initiatives and we want to make sure it’ll be available to us. I don’t like to have documents like this re-written and we need it to be as close to perfect as we can. We need to give ourselves these opportunities.” In mid January, Council approved the concept of a Leamington-based Seniors Advisory Committee and directed administration to draft a set of guidelines by which it will operate. The SAC’s mandate has been categorized into four main objectives — engagement, education, partnerships and planning. Once formed, the Seniors Advisory Committee will consist of four Leamington residents/taxpayers, a maximum of two local stakeholders or representatives of an organization providing services to seniors such as a retirement or long term care facility and two members of Council. None of the committee’s members — including council representatives — will be financially compensated for their roles.

Denturist marks 40-plus years in Leamington By Bryan Jessop

LEAMINGTON – Like the thousands of clients he has greeted since the 1970s, Jim Bennett has a lot to smile about. The local denturist first set out on his own more than 40 years ago and has since been balancing a work schedule between offices in Leamington and Windsor. Presently, Bennett works at The Denture Center on the third floor of Leamington’s Community Hub 33 (formerly the Princess Centre) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and at the Windsor location on Lauzon Parkway Tuesdays and Thursdays. Nowadays, he works as an independent contractor since selling the business to Eric Kukucka. Although he no longer owns the business where he works, Bennett is a long way off from considering retirement. “I plan on being around for a while longer,” he explained. “There’s no heavy lifting involved, so as long as my health is good, I’ll stick with it. I’ve got no interest in retiring yet. I’m happy working out of two new facilities — I really couldn’t ask for more.” Bennett was first drawn towards his field of work when he started working in his father’s lab in Leamington in 1971. Located at the corner of Erie and Talbot above Johnny’s Variety, Robert Bennett’s business was known simply as Bennett Dental Lab. Denturism was a relatively new field at the time and was one that Jim — 17 when he started out, fresh out of high school — was drawn to immediately. In 1975, Jim and his brother Bill enrolled in the Denturism course at George Brown College. It was the first year that the program was offered in Ontario and at that time, accepted a class of only 16 students. Upon graduating from the three-year course, Bennett began working for Bernie Tigwell as an independent contractor in January of 1978. By the end of the year, he bought the business from Tigwell to establish the James Bennett Denture Clinic in south Windsor at Grand Marais Road and Dominion Boulevard. Upon his father’s retirement, Jim purchased his Leamington office in 1992, which had relocated to John Street in the early 1970s. The business was relocated to Talbot Street West in 2005 and roughly one year ago, found a new home at Community Hub 33. The new Leamington office is staffed by three employees, one of whom fills in for Bennett while he is working in Windsor. The Leamington location welcomes an average of 10 to 12 clients per day while the Windsor site — a larger operation with seven workers — sees about twice as many. In his 48 years of denturism, Bennett describes the big-

Local denturist Jim Bennett reveals a set of digital dentures, a technological advancement he described as being the most significant change in his 40-plus years of practice.

gest change he’s seen in the industry as a breakthrough introduced quite recently. Digital dentures, he explained, eliminate the need to perform physical impressions of a client’s teeth and gums. Inner oral scanning has existed for a few years, he continued, but only recently has been refined enough to make digital dentures possible. After the scanning process is complete, a mould is created using a 3D printer. From there, teeth and gums are milled separately and then merged together to create the final product. “I wish my father was still alive to see it,” said Bennett, who compared the new technology to that used in CNC machining. “He wouldn’t believe it. Nobody’s doing full denture impressions that way yet, since the software is still being refined, but we are able to create full dentures using the technology. One of the advantages is that if they need to be replaced down the road because of being lost, we’ve already got a digital file.” Bennett explained that denturism is still a largely unknown career to many, noting that some would-be customers contact him in search of a crown, cap or other repairs to their teeth, which is not in his scope of practice. He takes the confusion in stride, explaining that the uniqueness of the career was something that has appealed to him for decades. “I’ve never wanted to do anything else,” Bennett said. “It’s rewarding when someone comes to me and says they’re finally happy after years of going elsewhere without success.”

Human rights tour visits CCCMS

By Bryan Jessop

LEAMINGTON – Cardinal Carter’s middle school and high school students alike have become wiser to the worst — and best — of the human race’s capabilities. Presented by Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies, Tour For Humanity made a stop at Cardinal Carter Catholic Middle School Thursday, April 11 and the same site’s secondary school Friday, April 12. “It’s been over-

whelmingly positive,” Tour For Humanity education associate Daniella Lurian explained of students’ and teachers’ reactions to the presentations. “Many kids know bits and pieces of what we’re talking about when we discuss the holocaust, but it’s also important to know about their own history.” Each of the six participating Cardinal Carter Middle School classes took part in the “Canadian Experience” workshop that is geared towards Grades 6 to

Little Tomato Children’s Theatre’s production of

10 students. The presentation documented some of the atrocities committed against Jewish populations in Europe during WWII at Nazi German concentration camps, but also highlighted human rights abuses committed on Canadian soil. The presentation also described the treatment of Japanese Canadian citizens at internment camps during WWII before highlighting the accomplishments of humanitarians including Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., Ghandi, Simon Wiesenthal, Anne Frank, Helen Keller and Malala Yousafzai.

Like the Simon’s Story ‘junior’ workshop for Grades 3 to 6 students, the presentation made to CCCMS students also discussed cyber bullying and modernday racism, noting that 57 per cent of hate crime suspects fall between the ages of 12 and 24 years. “It gives kids a dose of reality and challenges them with a sense of responsibility in their communities,”

Who’s got a seat at the table? Has there ever been a more entertaining Stanley Cup playoffs? RIB’S Not in my recent memory. When our office bracket pool was filled out on the first day of RAMBLINGS the playoffs, some were optimistic, some who had won other ofMark Ribble fice pools were confident, and others claimed they knew nothing about hockey. As I checked off my teams I certainly had to pick my Leafs over Boston, in spite of their awful stretch run. As most did, I picked Tampa over Columbus. In fact I had the Lightning marching all the way to the final and hoisting the cup. Here we are at the end of Round 1 and all ten people in the pool have lost their champion pick. Many of us had Tampa to win it all and others had Calgary and Winnipeg. The upsets always make it exciting unless your team is one of the favourites. Then it’s just stressful. It’s fun being the underdog. The softball team I play on is the underdog five out of every six weeks and we like it like that. Often the really good teams in our league end up with the pressure if we happen to have a really good game and take them to the limit. Going into Wednesday night’s game in Washington, six of the nine 100 point teams are out in the first round. If Washington loses Wednesday, that would make seven. Unprecedented to say the least. As they say in poker, all you need is a chip and a chair and that’s certainly true in this year’s playoffs. For those who thought these wild card teams were a waste of a playoff spot, this year proves them wrong. Three of the four wild card teams have advanced with another taking the defending champs to game seven on Wednesday. It’s a great time to be a hockey fan.

The Austin A40 Devon four-door sedan was a four-passenger British car built from 1947 to 1952 with independent front suspension and a four-cylinder engine with overhead valves. THE A heater and sunroof were extra cost options. OLD CAR The early ones had hyDETECTIVE draulic brakes at the Bill Sherk front and mechanical brakes at the rear. It was very popular in the U.K. and Canada with over 450,000 built before being replaced by the Austin A40 Somerset. Neil Gillard of Holland Landing owns a 1951 Austin A40 Devon purchased years ago from a relative of the original owner. The car was bought new at Austin Ontario Motors at 737 Church Street in downtown Toronto. The trade-in was a 1948 Austin. The new ’51 had a sticker price of $1,776 minus $1,000 for the trade-in. The original owners drove it to the Grand Canyon in 1953, where a deer with antlers nuzzled up to the car (see photo). When Neil bought the car, that photo came with it. Tom Vodarek grew up in Leamington and now lives on a country property near Rockwood. Parked in the woods on his property is what’s left of an Austin A40 Devon used as

shelter by a previous owner at maple syrup time. Several photos arrived by email from Tom, who wondered if I could guess the make and year. The chrome border around the windshield convinced me I was looking at the remains of an Austin Devon. But what year was it? I turned to Neil Gillard for help. He said if the car has a serial number plate on the inside of the glove box door, it would be a 1948 model. Alas, too many parts were missing and we could not pin down the exact year.

Big Buck Show reels in crowds

More than $3M coming to C-K Leamington for housing ONTARIO – The Ontario government has announced $1-billion in 2019-2020 to help repair and grow community housing to end homelessness. The government also revealed the province’s new Community Housing Renewal Strategy, outlining plans to end fragmentation in the system and streamline application processes to help people who need it most. “I think we can all agree that the most vulnerable in our society need to be a priority of government efforts in housing,” said Rick Nicholls, MPP for Chatham-Kent Leamington. “We will work with the province and non-profits to address issues like safety, overcrowding and long wait lists.” Total funding to tackle homelessness in Chatham-Kent will be $3,820,774, and $16,260,566 will be spread across Windsor, Essex and Leamington. The share of the $1-billion locally will come through the following programs: Investment in Affordable Housing in Ontario Extension, Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative, Ontario Priorities Housing Initiative; Home for Good program and the Canada-Ontario Community Housing Initiative. Nicholls added that wait lists will also be reformed to be as minimal as possible. One new policy in the plan to do so is having tenants prioritize their first choice and accept the first unit they are offered, while allowing Service Managers flexibility to make exceptions in extenuating circumstances. Protecting tenants who receive child support payments by ensuring their rent is not impacted by payments, asset tests to prevent people exploiting the system at the expense of those who need it and keeping tenants out who were evicted for violent crimes are also prominent in the strategy.

Finn Henderson, who was joined by her mother Becky and brother Nathan, tries to reel in the big catch at the trout pond during the 2019 Southwest Outdoors Club Big Buck Sportsmen’s Show at Tilbury Memorial Arena Saturday, April 13.

TILBURY – The popularity of the Big Buck Sportsmen’s Show didn’t take long to take off more than a decade and a half ago, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. The Southwest Outdoors Club presented the latest installment of the annual gathering at Tilbury Memorial Arena and the adjoining Ryder Hall Saturday, April 13. This year’s event is being described as the best and possibly the most well-attended thus far. Dan Reive, president of SWOC, explained that the show draws an average of 1,500 visitors per year. Although precise head counts are difficult to determine, he explained that by noon, a minimum of 500 ‘Youth’ wristbands alone had been handed out at the front gates in the arena lobby. “It’s been a great crowd,” (Continued on Page 9)

In keeping with Gore Hill Public School’s quest for gold certification as an Ontario Eco-school for the sixth year, the school’s Extreme Eco-Team challenged all classes to complete a variety of environmental projects this month. Mr. Alles’ Grade 4/5 class initiated a campaign where they wrote to area businesses, asking them what environmental initiatives they support in their workplace, such as recycling, reducing packaging, etc. that assist in protecting the environment. Pictured, Grade 4/5 student Madison Gagnon shows a display board of some of the letters that were mailed to local businesses, asking them about their environmental stewardship initiatives. (Continued from Page 8) Reive said. “Ever since we’ve moved to the arena floor, it’s been growing more and more.” Upon its inception, the Big Buck Sportsmen’s Show was contained entirely within the facility’s Ryder Hall. This year, the hall was the site of an archery shoot by Archers Against Cancer for youths to test their skills with a bow and arrow and a raptor exhibit presented by Kingsport Environmental Falconry Services Inc. of Amherstburg. Outdoors, Eddie North’s Attawapiskat River Adventures — Chris Lewis and family — presented the annual trout pond

for visiting youths while the Essex Hunting Retriever Club put on a retriever dog demonstration and the Ministry of Natural Resources had an information booth. On the arena rink floor, more than 40 vendors filled more than 60 tables with Taxidermy works, hunting and fishing gear, artwork and information on a variety of services available to outdoor enthusiasts. The event was also the site of submitted buck racks, moose racks, bear skulls and turkey beards as scored by F.R.O.W. The Beasley Brothers of Monster Whitetail Magazine were present while raffle tickets for a

2019 CF Moto C Force 500 side-by-side ATV sold out. The winner of this year’s 50/50 draw took home nearly $1,300. Additionally, more than $2,500 in door prizes was given away. About 30 of the Southwest Outdoors Club’s membership volunteered to run this year’s Big Buck Show. In total, the Wheatley-based organization includes about 150 members. Most are from Wheatley and Leamington areas, although others hail from communities including Harrow, Stoney Point and Tilbury. Youngsters scramble to gather Easter eggs at the Mayor’s Easter Egg-stravaganza in Kingsville on Saturday. (Southpoint Sun Photos)

Mayor’s Easter Egg-stravaganza KINGSVILLE – The weather may have tried to put a damper on this year’s Mayor’s Easter Egg-stravaganza but organizers ‘scrambled’ to move the Easter egg hunt indoors on Saturday, April 20. Hundreds of youngsters and their families headed to the arena to take part in the hunt for thousands of foil-covered chocolate eggs, a visit with the Easter bunny and a hot dog. The event was sponsored by The Town of Kingsville, Local Home Team Century 21 and Dr. Mark Olivito and Associates.

Huge crowd enjoys Easter weekend at Colasanti’s KINGVILLE – Hundreds turned out to Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens on the weekend to participate in Easter activities and meet the Easter Bunny. Nearly 1,0000 youngsters participated in obstacles courses, colour matching and a fishing pond to raise funds for Group Hug Apparel and the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. They also had a chance to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, with proceeds benefiting Fantastic Fathers. Pictured, Carter Ryan, 7, Logan Ryan, 7, Brody Ryan, 4, and Kayleigh Ryan, 2, all of Leamington, took time out to stop by and visit the Easter Bunny.

Banded Goose officially opens in Kingsville By Pat Bailey

KINGSVILLE – They say birds of a feather flock together. These words couldn’t be truer for the Loop clan, Troy, Cindy, Trevor and Tara. Their foray into the business world began about 30 years ago, with the opening of The Vintage Goose by Troy and Cindy. With time comes change and the addition of two more siblings to the group. But being born and raised in Kingsville, one thing re-

mained the same – paying homage to the father of conservation, Jack Miner. It was a natural, said Jacks Group partner Trevor Loop, “He put Kingsville on the map.” Last week, on Thursday, April 11, the four siblings and their significant others celebrated the official grand opening of their latest venture – Banded Goose Brewing Co. The new business, located at 15 Main St. E., Kingsville, includes coffee bar Bean 15, the Taproom, Inn 15 with seven additional rooms for their Distinctive Inns of Kingsville, and the Concierge, a welcome desk in partnership with Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI). This latest project was actually a vision for the Loops for a couple of years, but it became much more about a year ago when the perfect piece of property became available. They had already been brewing beer at another one of their venues, Jack’s Gastropub, since 2013. “We thought we’d like to tackle something on a little larger scale,” said general manager Trevor. It’s been a long year of renovations and research for the group, but one that has

paid off in spades. Reaction to the new brewery has been phenomenal. While they already offer rooms at Inn 36 Guest House Suites and Inn 31 at Pub Suites at Jack’s Gastropub, Trevor said they saw a need. As the town has continued to grow and attract more tourists, Trevor said they saw a void in the market. He is hoping with the addition of their seven ‘modern crashpads’, a description penned by Inn 15 manager John Gyori-Loop, visitors are able to have a beautiful place to stay during their visit to town. Cindy said they took great pride and spent extensive time repurposing and restoring wood and tiles from the demolition to transform into headboards and furnishings. The Taproom and Concierge have a distinctive Kingsville feel after the Jack Miner Sanctuary allowed them to use black and white photos from their archives, transferred onto wooden planks. In one photo, Jack Miner and friends release geese following their banding. From 8 a.m. until about 3 p.m., Bean 15 offers guests a choice of coffees, teas and pastries. But once 3 p.m. hits, de-

pending on requests, BGB becomes a place to sit around and enjoy a craft beer with friends. And as soon as the weather breaks, Trevor said they will open a patio out back and Black Jack’s Gastrovan will be on site to serve some creative food truck fare. The brewery currently has seating for about 65, with room for another 24 once the patio opens. Trevor said for those just wanting to sample a unique brew to go, they offer a 32 ounce ‘crowler’, which is about half the size of a ‘growler’. While many may think competition could become fierce amongst local restaurants and breweries, the Loops welcome their fellow brewers, like The Grove, and are looking forward to another one, Kingsville Brewery, opening in about four months, just down the street. Trevor said there’s room for everyone and having three breweries in downtown Kingsville is a real plus for tourism. As far as working so closely with family, Trevor admits there may be a few debates among siblings, but said they have a motto: ‘family first’.

Southern Footprints Run this Sunday By Bryan Jessop

LEAMINGTON – The official start to Leamington’s race season will combine new attractions and time-tested features. Southern Footprints will welcome a couple new friendly team competitions for its 12th installment, again to be hosted by Point Pelee National Park starting and ending near the Visitors Centre. This year’s set of Southern Footprints races will start at 9 a.m. — preceded by 7:30 a.m. registration — Sunday, April 28. The later-than-usual date was established to avoid conflicting Easter Weekend schedules for participating runners and walkers. The event will again kick off with a short Mascot Race, followed by the 1km Kids’ Dash. From there, 5km runners, 5km walkers, 10km runners and 15km runners will take off simul-

taneously for either one, two or three lap routes to the tip and back. This year, each race will be backed by its own sponsor — The Southpoint Sun for the Mascot Race, Pure Flavour for the 5km walk/run, Security One for the 10km event and Leamington Chrysler for the 15km, three lap race. This year will not include a 20km option. “The town of Leamington has really stepped forward this year,” Southern Footprints race director David

Campbell said of the local groups that have offered sponsorships and other means of support. “The companies in this area have really made it a success. When they see it being done for good causes, they like to support it — they understand the importance.” New for 2019 will be the First Responders Team Event and the Media Challenge. Both will be presented and sponsored by Crime Stoppers — one of the two organizations to receive proceeds from this year’s Southern Footprints, along with the Essex Rotary Club. For the First Responders race, teams of four are encouraged to step forward representing fire departments, police stations and paramedic/ ambulance locations from across Windsor and Essex County. For the Media Challenge, organizers

NOVA Nova’s coat is as bright as a shining star and it matches her purrsonality. Although not a lap cat, she enjoys being near you and loves being petted. She’ll even drop her favourite toys (of the mouse and ball variety) to come back for a stroke or two before resuming her chase play and letting you get on with your chores.

Flyers host annual banquet By Bryan Jessop

The Leamington Flyers have officially wrapped up the first season under their new ownership. The annual awards banquet took place Wednesday, April 18 at The Roma Club to cap a successful season that included new faces on the ice, behind the bench and behind the scenes. Coaches, management and ownership presented awards and commented on a season that had the team advance to the Western Conference finals for the fourth time in the past five years. Additionally, volunteers and personnel were thanked for their hours of service in support of the 2018-’19 campaign. Team awards for the season were declared and presented as follows before a crowd of 125 guests: • Leading Scorer — Adam Jeffery; • Unsung Hero — Zach Taylor; • Hardest Worker — Kade McKibbon; • Coaches Award — Cam-

eron Armstrong; • Rookie of the Year — Ryan Gagnier and Adam Jeffery; • Best Defenseman — Levi Tetrault; • MVP, regular season — Zach Borgiel; • MVP, playoffs — Dylan Weston. Additionally, director of hockey operations Harold Konrad presented Volunteers of the Year honours to Chris Slikboer, Jeannie Mouck and Hilda Franklin. Without an awards banquet this season for the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League — representing the Junior B Western, Midwestern and Golden Horseshoe conferences — teams, including the Flyers, presented their organizations’ player awards at their own banquets. The Flyers earned the Stan Moore Award for finishing first in the Western Conference for the regular season and took leaguewide honours in the following categories: • Ron Caley Award (low-

The season was testament to what (head coach) Cam (Crowder) and (general manager) Justin (Solcz) are capable of, as well as the players.” Towards the end of the banquet, presentations for the team’s graduating-age (20) players were made by Solcz and Crowder to Matt Boring and Levi Tetrault. Aside from the two departing 20-year-olds and Gagnier — who has signed with the OHL’s Oshawa Generals — the team is enthusiastic about the group of veterans eligible to return for 2019’20. “We’re in a good spot to start, that’s for sure,” noted Melo. “Every year, our goal will be to win the Sutherland Cup and next season will be no different. We’re a group of real hockey guys and we won’t shy away from what we have to do to win.” The Flyers will first hit the ice in preparation for the 2019-’20 season with their annual Spring Camp Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1 at the Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex.
