Quality first

At South Shore, we design and manufacture our products locally, from quality materials. The materials we test, develop, and select are the most important part of what we do. We never compromise and do not leave any material decision to chance. And because so much of what we do is done right here, it’s easier for us to maintain strict quality standards.

Strict quality standards

We go beyond designing furniture

Consumer safety is our top priority, which is why we make sure to use materials that meet the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) added to Title VI standard issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The TSCA Title VI certification signifies that the product releases a low enough amount of formaldehyde to be considered safe. It means that any formaldehyde released by products bearing the TSCA Title VI Compliant seal of conformity is low enough to present no health risk.

Under TSCA Title VI, the limits for formaldehyde emissions are:

• Particle board: 0.09 ppm (parts per million)

• MDF: 0.11 ppm (parts per million)

• Melamine: 0.05 ppm (parts per million)

Meeting high standards

You can rest assured that all our changing tables and dressers meet the requirements of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).

Tested and approved

At South Shore Furniture, we conduct strict in-house stability testing, and we are certified by 3rd party laboratories on our changing tables and dressers. This allows us to ensure that our children’s furniture is safe for everyone in the home.

Packaging designed to withstand the unexpected

At South Shore Furniture, we make sure that each piece of furniture is delivered in good condition. ISTA 3A and 6-Amazon.com-S.I.O.C.

challenge the capability of both package and product to withstand distribution hazards normally encountered during handling and transportation.

During the design phase, our in-house lab performs:

• 17 mandatory drop tests

• 6 additional drop tests (added by our team)

• Truck vibration tests

• Curb drop tests (added by our team)

• Inspections by our technicians

Our packaging meets rigorous standards

Our commitment to the community

Our company has always had a firm belief in social responsibility. Being engaged within the community that supported and encouraged us from the beginning is extremely important to us. But, how does a furniture manufacturer make a difference?

We always find time to help, whether it’s by donating our furniture or by organizing philanthropic activities. Since 2019, we have been a proud partner of the Banque de Meubles Québec, an organization that is committed to donating furniture to those in need. In the past, we’ve also worked with several non-profit organizations, such as Leucan, Le Grand défi Pierre Lavoie, Operation Santa Claus, and many others. We know that these gestures leave a positive impact on people’s lives, and that’s our motivation every day.

Innovation and trends: pioneering the future

At South Shore Furniture, we are not just keeping pace with trends—we’re defining them. Our commitment to innovation drives us to constantly seek out new ideas and technologies to enhance our processes and stay ahead in the everevolving landscape of our industry.
