Back-to-school time is a new start for all of us at home. We begin by reorganizing the kids’ room, setting up a quiet corner for reading and a practical space for doing their homework. It’s essential to help them get off to a good start in the school year.
Preparing the supply list is always an exciting moment. We do it during the holidays when there’s no rush. This gives us a chance to choose what they really need, while enjoying some time together.
We also adapt our spaces at home to meet everyone’s needs. For example, my daughter needs more attention for her studies, so I simplified my desk so she can work there without distractions. A clear and organized space helps a lot with concentration.
Then there’s the wardrobe update: choosing outfits for the new year and removing those that are too small. It’s kind of like a rite of passage, and it feels good to make space.
Each back-to-school season is a new chapter for them, and being prepared is our way of ensuring everything goes as smoothly as possible.

ENTRYWAY
6 TIPS FOR ALWAYS KEEPING YOUR ENTRYWAY ORGANIZED
Back-to-school means organization, lunchboxes, backpacks, and storage!
1
Create specific storage zones: Set up specific storage areas by designating dedicated spaces for different categories of items, such as coats, shoes, backpacks, and more. Use hooks, shelves, baskets, or boxes to maintain organization and functionality throughout.
3
Consider investing in multifunctional furniture, such as: a storage bench or a console table with drawers. They’re highly practical for organizing shoes, keys, and other small essentials at the entryway, while also providing additional seating or display space.
2
Maximize your use of vertical space: Enhance storage efficiency by strategically placing hooks, wallmounted shelves, or a coat rack to hang coats, bags, and umbrellas. This method effectively utilizes vertical space, while freeing up the floor area, to ensure convenient access to everyday essentials.
4
Involving the whole family: Get everyone involved in organizing the entryway. By engaging them in the process, they’ll be more inclined to maintain order afterward.

5
Establish a daily tidying routine: Encourage all family members to put away their belongings as soon as they come home. This prevents clutter buildup and makes daily management easier.
6
Sorting before the school year starts: Before the new season or school year begins, take the time to sort and declutter. Get rid of items that are no longer useful and donate what can be reused.

PREPARING THE BEDROOM
Here are our designer tips to prepare your children’s room for a successful back-to-school season. Transform their space into an environment that’s conducive to studying and relaxing, by following our expert recommendations!
INCREASED BRIGHTNESS
Lighter colors tend to reflect natural and artificial light, making the room brighter and more inviting. Brightness is essential for maintaining focus and staying alert during study sessions.
DESIGNER TIP: OPT FOR COMFORTING AND NATURAL TONES, FOR A SCANDINAVIAN-INSPIRED BEDROOM.
VERSATILITY AND DURABILITY
Neutral colors like black have a timeless quality that blends with various styles and preferences, regardless of trends. They also offer greater flexibility if your child wants to change their room décor in the future.
BUNK BEDS
Bunk beds are very practical in a kids’ room. They optimize space by utilizing the verticality of the room and free up floor space for play or to install a study desk. It’s an ideal option for large families or smaller rooms.
