SCALE®—The Leading Accelerated J.D. Program he path to a J.D. degree has traditionally involved three years of full-time study or four years of part-time study. With law schools around the country recently reevaluating their curricula, some have wondered, “Is it possible to obtain all the knowledge and skills necessary to be a successful lawyer in just two years?”

According to graduates of Southwestern Law School’s two-year SCALE® program— which has been in existence for 40 years—the answer is a resounding “Yes!” The 1,000+ alumni of SCALE have been highly successful in the full spectrum of law and business—from elected office to private practice, from the bench to entertainment. One of Southwestern’s four J.D. programs of study, SCALE presents a unique model for legal education that features a cohort of 45-50 students and a commitment to integrating practical skills training, rather than simply condensing the typical threeyear curriculum into two years.
