Before Szfi&ndlplty is seen by the public, much work is done to ensure the quality of the show. Groups like Trunk, Writing Staff, Dance Chorus, Crew and the directors work for many weeks to produce ^txtudipttij. Trunk' consists of forty-two people who perform the opening and closing acts. They also fill in wherever they are needed. Members of Trunk try our with an act, and must be able to sing, dance and act. The group unifies the show and members must be versatile. "Things change at the last minute and flexibility enables us to put on a successful VShow," said Beth Ann Karabin, vocal director.

Crew aids in production The day is Thursday, Dec. 2. The time--4 p.m. Various people dash about the stage putting the finishing touches on the year's V-Show, Se^tzndipi-ty.
For weeks the crew has been hard at work building the platform for the band to sit on. Lights and curtains have been carefully positioned to show the performers at their very best. In just a few hours, however, the cast will take the stage and the hard-working crew will fade into the backround. The night will be a typical one: the cast performs, the audience applauds and the cast leaves to party while the crew cleans the
stage in order to prepare for the next night's show. As usual, the cast gets the credit for a successful show. Many people don't even realize that a running crew even exists. They think instead that the scenes miraculously change by themselves. As the final notes of "Gonna Build a Mountain: die away, however, the crew sees the audience giving the cast a standing ovation, and they become as excited as anyone in the cast. The crew knows that, even though they are never seen, they are still as important as the cast. Both cast and crew work together to give many people a night to remember.

Director says,' get involved' Dear Editor, V-Show is quickly approaching us and in the wake of all this excitement I'm sure there are some cynical students that scorn at the idea of V-Show and participating in such events. Well, (in danger of sounding like a rah-rah) what's wrong with getting involved with your school? V-Show has a lot to offer if given a chance. Is'nt it about time students started taking some interest? It's there for you. The variety of acts will appeal to all different type personalities. It's about, and centered around the school. Several of the acts are school-related and poke fun at school organizations, such as the Dean's Office. Other acts are intended to make light of stereotyping, for example, preppies and burnouts. Attending the V-Show isn't any different than going to a sporting event because both show your support of your school. V-Show is a schooloriented event. So, don't let your page 4
prejudices stand in the way of enjoying the show. I'm sure after seeing it your opinion will be changed. Sincerely yours, Maureen Smith, Serendipity Director P.S. Enjoy the show!

Maureen Blandford. Every year Student Council tries to promote and publicize the show. This year a few new activities have been planned. On Nov. 30 all Trunk and Dance Chorus members will wear their uniforms to school. The pep band will play during homeroom also. V-Show is one of the most populcg|^ events every year because it i n v o l ^ P ves a variety of students as well as faculty. The show itself appeals to the student body as well as their parents.
