The results of the survey „Traditional children’s games” The survey was carried out among primary school pupils from IV to VI grades. The results show that children spend more time at home but they also like spending their free time with friends outdoors in spite of the fact that there is no playground in their neighborhood. Their most favorite free time activities are computer games and the second favorite is playing outdoors . Apart from that children spend their free time with family and watching TV. Children don’t like spending their free time attending extracurricular activities. Pupils prefer to play in groups or in pairs , rarely individually. They devote a few hours to playing everyday. Pupils know the most popular outdoor games such as : tag, riding a bike, Chinese jump rope, hopscotch and hide and seek, They are also familiar with board games e.g. chess, scrabble, monopoly, Chinese checkers. The most popular games the parents used to play are: tag, riding a bike, hide and seek and “sophie” (footbag). Pupils also can make their own toys using paper and wood. The results of this survey reveal that pupils play willingly together with their friends because it brings them great enjoyment.
