Maritime Day at Sea Star Base Galveston 10am-3pm; An activity of Maritime Week, Maritime Day at Sea Star Base Galveston will offer students the opportunity to explore maritime careers, and meet professional mariners aboard their vessels. Professional Mariners and their vessels include law enforcement, Port of Houston Fire Boat, Coast Guard, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and BaySmart, a floating classroom. Families, students, scouts, and anyone interested in the maritime industry are encouraged to attend the free event. Maritime Day provides the opportunity to step aboard vessels and meet the crews who will tell their stories about why they chose a career in the Maritime Industry, share their experiences, and provide insight into the operations of each vessel.
