BY: SEBASTIAN MORRIS 7:30 AM ON MAY 25, 2018 The Landmarks Preservation Commission will soon consider renovation proposals for 954 Madison Avenue, a historic corner property on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Iconic fashion label Carolina Herrera commissioned the project, hoping to enlarge the existing Madison Avenue flagship location. According to Manhattan Community Board 8, representing the Upper East Side of Manhattan and Roosevelt Island, the original three-story structure was designed and completed in 1925 by architect George F. Pelham, whose work can be found throughout the city. Landmark consultants Higgins Quasebarth & Partners have collaborated with architecture and interior design firm Spacesmith on the project, which includes a major overhaul of the existing façade, redesign of all building windows, and placement of branded awnings and signage.

Interior floor plans will also be updated to accommodate multiple showrooms, fitting areas, office space, storage, and other retail-essential components.
