Community Education seeks to improve the quality of life by providing lifelong learning opportunities for all members of the community. Lifelong learning is based on the belief that people are learners at every age and are entitled to pursue educational opportunities that are meaningful to them. The process of community involvement in planning learning activities is the cornerstone of Community Education. Through a partnership of advisory councils and professional staff, community needs are identified and local resources are used to respond to those needs.
