While last week’s King County primary election results have yet to be finalized, the top two candidates have emerged in most Seattle races, including mayor,

City Council and Seattle Public Schools District 4 director. In Seattle’s crowded mayoral race with 15 candidates vying to replace outgoing Mayor Jennie Durkan, Bruce Harrell and M. Lorena Gonzalez emerged as the early frontrunners, and their leads

Taste of Queen Anne returns this month following a new format, plan for future Fundraiser benefits Queen Anne Helpline QA&Mag News editor While it won’t be the same format as previous years, organizers hope the upcoming Taste of Queen Anne, which benefits Queen Anne Helpline, will help the organize continue its mission and serve as a playbook for future events.

This year, the Taste of Queen Anne will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Crockett Street dining plaza off of Queen Anne Avenue North. MaChell Duma, Queen Anne Helpline marketing and communications manager, said that the Taste of Queen Anne has evolved from its previous gala structure to a less exclusive community event.

“This year, we wanted it to be really community-centric,” she said. Not only will this year’s event be less formal, it will also feature entertainment for the entire community, specifically children’s activities and treats from noon to 6 p.m. on First Avenue West, as well as a family street dance hosted by KEXP staff and vendors. “I really want to make the event more inclusive, and also we are responding to the pandemic,”

Duma said. Although in past years, the “tastes” provided were donated by the restaurants that participated, this year, Queen Anne Helpline is paying for all the tastes.
