Pacific Publishing is currently seeking a Jogger/Press Assistant, to work in our South Seattle SODO plant operating a newspaper “cold set” web press. Position will help operate multiple web units, stack printed materials and move printing materials between locations within the plant. The position is part of a lean small team operating from Monday to Friday. (40 hrs a week). This is an entry level position. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. We will provide the training. Queen Anne has been delayed until after the first of the year. The project is for a mixed-use commercial and residential complex with seven stories and 324 apartment units, parking for 344 units and a new 50,000-squarefoot Safeway at 2100 Queen Anne Avenue North. Construction, initially slated to begin with the demolition of the current 30,000-square-foot Safeway on Oct. 15, has been postponed to Jan. 12, 2022. Developer Maria Barrientos,

construction didn’t begin by Oct. 15, then work would be pushed to after the first of the year to allow Safeway to take advantage of the holiday season. Barrientos stated Safeway officials were willing to miss two holiday seasons, but not three. QA&Mag News editor If Christopher Goodwin, owner of Goodwin Motorsports on Aurora Avenue in east Queen Anne, had known about the illegal activity, chronic drug use that takes place just outside his business, he would have thought twice about signing the lease. Since opening at his location last August, moving from Capitol Hill, Goodwin said he has witnessed all types of criminal activity on the steps outside his business leading to the Dexter underpass or at the bus stop in front of his business on Highway 99. When he first opened, he ran off a man who was selling drugs and prostituting women from a tent on the hill behind his business. “So I knew that, over some period of time, there had been some nefarious activity going on, but I had no idea how bad it was,” Goodwin said. Tent encampments, actually, have not been a big issue in the area for some time, Goodwin said. The problem stems from criminal activity run from the nearby Hillside Motel, which has not been a
